  1. While I agree he is definitely not on the run, I do not agree with using Khun before his name, as that denotes some connotations of respect, or status. He deserves neither.
  2. Anyone who has spent enough time here knows that anyone who is worth 200 million baht or more is above the law. Any and all laws. Remember. Prayuth was installed to protect them, not punish them. When you are up into the billions of baht, this law of untouchablity simply multiplies. They never even looked for him. Even the so called Interpol notice was likely a ruse, or it was ignored, due to Thailand's lack of credibility.
  3. In your bizarre and increasingly disconnected universe, where a child is savagely attacked, and the 200 stitches are in no way connected to this dispicable dog, is it possible you might be the drama queen, if it were your daughter?
  4. Put the owner and the dog down anyway. Both have given up their rights to consume oxygen.
  5. I know this may sound cold. But, anyone wearing valuable gold, out on the streets of Pattaya at night, towards the end of a 2 year long pandemic which has seen unemployment, and homelessness skyrocketing, and incomes plummeting, has to be considered a fool, and does not have my sympathy. Darwin was right. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not. Those who do not are prey for the darker spirits who live like vampires, feeding on the misfortune of others.
  6. Is this intended to be a sincere reply? Did you read the post? The child is now out of ICU but still in Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Earlier reports said the child needed 200 stitches after suffering horrendous injuries. Is there any chance a child needing 200 stitches would not be disfigured for life, much less in need of multiple, complex reconstructive surgeries to be put back together again?
  7. Facing a cruel type of execution would be more appropriate. At a minimum, 5 years in prison, and the forfeiture of his home. This is serious business. Why is this being treated so lightly? Is he rich? Connected?
  8. This is just another in the thousands of examples, of this spectacularly toxic administration, being thoroughly useless to the people. Alot of jobs are at stake here. By hard working people providing a great service to us all. Out with the Dino creep squad. In with a much needed, and productive youth. Goodbye Prayuth. We all sense your hotly anticipated end. You will not be missed.
  9. If it were my daughter, I would start, by hiring a good private detective. He would track them down and I would put them down, like they deserve. Of course, that would include any and all dogs they had, just to be certain. Old testament style! A eye for an eye.
  10. The NACC is charged with combating corruption in Thailand by high-ranking government officials and politicians. And they are one of the least sincere and least effective at fighting corruption in Thailand. Same applies to Cha Cha and his band of goons. Corruption can be found in the US too. Only it is legal there. 95% of lobbyists, many lawyers and most Washington politicians are highly corrupt. So is the judicial system there, when $2 or 3 million will buy you an innocent verdict, due to the legal teams ability to create a doubt in the minds of the jury. Sounds corrupt to me. I smell a fish!
  11. Now that Covid is waning, the experts would be absolutely lost, if they did not have a new disease they could warn us about. And it seems as if a portion of the population would also be lost without something to be panicked over. It is all quite sad and not exactly humanity showing it's better nature. Don't we have better things to do, than freak out over the next big plague type event?
  12. 10 or 15 baht can be a big deal for a Panda delivery guy, who is making 9 baht per delivery. In the US it is about $12 in delivery fees alone. Why not help out a hard working chap? What does that 10 baht mean to us? There is also a loftier component here. By showing even minor generosity, and decency, we keep the heart open and that keeps us feeling better and being more useful to our community.
  13. But, that would be productive work, and they would actually be giving something back to society. That would be far too oxymoronic for the RTP.
  14. All dogs who maim and kill need to be put down. Period. The sooner, the better. Put down the owner too.
  15. This guy sounds like a real winner. I get so much gratitude from a waitress for a 20 baht tip. Same with Panda. They are so happy. In the US, barely an acknowledgement for a $20 tip at a restaurant. I usually give a small tip to taxis, and they love it too. To each his own. No need to tip for laundry, take out, etc. That is being overly gratuitous.
  16. Important work, to subdue the inferior breed. Us outsiders are so problematic. Very little native crime here.
  17. This poor kids life will never be the same. The dog should be immediately put down. And all owners of dogs who commit these kinds of crimes, should be charged with causing grievous injury, and made to serve prison time. This kind of thing is no joke, and the authorities need to start taking very badly behaved dogs seriously. If it were a member of my family that dog would have been taken down already. Gone, baby gone. And the owner would be dealt with severely, also.
  18. Sounds like alot of nonsense to me. I will believe it when I see it. The degree to which they have ignored this problem, for such a long time, while it has gotten completely out of control, is mind boggling and heads should be rolling over it. This is not just the governor's issue. A heavy party of this burden falls on the tiny shoulders of Cha Cha. He has been nearly criminal in his extreme malfeasance of this issue. His grade on air issues is an F. Let's see if this new guy can do anything. And let's hope Cha Cha is ousted soon, so the nation can start some forward momentum.
  19. My heart goes out to you. I think the food would be one of the hardest things to cope with in the PI. One of the things I love most about Thailand is the food, the quality of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and grains here. Assuming you are restricted by a budget that compels you to eat in the food courts, and similarly low end establishments. The food sucks in PI. The only other country I can think of with worse food, is Cuba. Granted, if you are willing to spend quite alot of money, you can find good food. But, it is not the general rule, as it is here. Also, the access to fresh fruits and vegetables is pathetic compared to Thailand. Very low quality, and often not fresh. Thailand is a paradise by comparison, when it comes to all things related to food.
  20. The newly coined wood man (aspirations of being a porn star?) is both right and wrong. 1. He is very right about Cha Cha decimating the economy here. The nature of the highly selective economic shutdowns, which favored his cronies was dreadfully destructive. Millions of jobs were lost. Tourism was nearly destroyed due to massive cowardice. 2. Thaksin is obviously speaking of something he knows nothing about, when wading into the ganga discussion. He could not possibly be more wrong, on all counts. Any comparison to opium, which unlike ganga is physiologically addicting, is a fools errand and can only come from a person possessing a spectacular degree of ignorance and preconceived notions.
  21. Not including the earnings from her customers. A hot young one can pull in well in excess of 100,000 baht a month. I know an exceptionally hot and beautiful gal who worked in a short time bar, saved up her money, and walked away with 3 million baht after 20 months of work. Sure, she likely had 3,000 customers. The economy here insures the inability of a woman without a specialized university degree, a lifetime of barely getting by. I understand the tough choices some have to make.
  22. Thanks. I have made it a habit of breaking many rules of the road, of society, and of the law, my whole lifetime. It ensures you are not a lemming and discriminating behavior requires it. It is something crazy, known as independent and free thinking, and questioning everything. If you think going faster than 90kph on a four lane divided highway, in fair weather, in a new car is unsafe, we live in two different universes. Mine is one of independence from stifling and corrupt laws designed to extract cash from the public.
  23. Extremely desperate creeps, doing anything they need to do to cling to power. It is safe to assume these goons are despised to the point that, were the decree to end, so would their reign of power. 8 years and counting. Such hubris and greed. Hey Cha Cha. What ever happened to the concept of caretaker government? Got too hungry? Did you just find the power and fortune just hard to give up?
  24. One of my methods that I use to maintain peace of mind these days, is to not dwell on things I have no control over. I eat well, exercise, and take supplements. If I die, I die. Some will miss me. Will I miss my life? What will my level of awareness be after death? I have a 60 year old friend who went out for a motorbike ride back in the US last week, and never made it home. He somehow lost control of the bike, and crashed into a tree, leaving behind a younger wife and a 7 year old. It happens all the time. Not something I stress over. There is one thing that is sure in this life. If it is your time, the grip reaper will find you, no matter where you are, and what you are doing.
