Progressive lenses are for correcting both short and long vision at one time. They are basically bifocals built into one lens. I tried them and they did not work for me. I use reading glasses and that is all, my long vision is fine. Progressive for me was fine for reading but made my long vision worse.

You dont need a visa. My advice is dont go on a Thai tour full of Thai's unless you really really want to see some specific attractions. The Thai idea of a tour is not quite the same as a western one, if you know what I mean.
