I had not thought of that. Let's see what happens next.

My hate mode is overtaking my like mode. I ordered two printer cartridges COD. One arrived - paid for two. My business partner told me that I should have video'd opening the boxes! No chance for a refund.

Must Read Thailand’s latest entry requirements from 1 May 2022

The correct insurance from anywhere is acceptable. It does not have to be Thai. -
Historically, May and June have been low season here on Samui. Years ago, hotels and restaurants would close for these months as well as for October, November and December (up until about the 12th/15th.) Then Europeans would start to come back July to September and again in Mid December. It was Asian tourists in later years that lifted the numbers during the 'low season'.

Not really. I much prefer the truth to lies and deceit. To say - - tells me that it is a lie, or your eyes are closed. I live with coastal villages that are 10 minutes away in either direction from my house (which also has fabulous sea views). I see the sea every time I that I travel here wherever I go - except in Chaweng. Travel around the ring road (57 kilometers) and you will definitely see the sea. Unless your eyes are closed. Then you compare Samui (88.3 sq. mls) with the mainland. Really? I do not understand this comment. All beaches in Thailand are public beaches - unless HM the King says otherwise. Definitely, some tourist areas here are a huge mess and have totally destroyed the island feel, We do not go there. We go to empty beaches and enjoy the island style living, which you cannot do in Phuket or on the mainland.

As this particular guy has a dog, he is probably living and working here.

On Samui, there are local groups and hotels that organise volunteer 'clean up' events. Six Senses hotel is near where I live and they have regular clean up days along the whole road to where their resort is. They cut back the vegetation and clear up the rubbish. Local Tessabaan workers (in yellow shirts) are also out on the roads regularly - tidying up and collecting rubbish.

I do not use phone apps. (wifi off, location off etc etc) On my computers I use https://www.windguru.cz/30397 (Location is Samui) I find this one the most reliable weather forecast for the next 48 hours. The further forward you look, the less reliable. As others here have said - weather patterns in Thailand are very 'local'. Windguru will tell me that there is rain on the island, but it may not be at my place. There is a phone app for windguru.

iHerb not working? Where else to get supplements?
Tropicalevo replied to Lorry's topic in Health and Medicine
I checked with this web site and they do ship to Thailand. I have not used them yet though. samedaysupplements.com Here on Samui, the local DHL agents always want a brown envelope so we all avoid DHL. iHerb always seem to use DHL, even if you request post. -
To fly to Samui, you just need a ticket. Samui has no special rules.

Koh Madsum (Piggy Island).
Tropicalevo replied to phetphet's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
I cannot comment on the 50 baht as we do not see that charge. We just pay the guy who owns the boat. My partner organises it all. It does seem to be a small amount to make a fuss over though. I give that much to the government workers who clean the streets if I see them. It is a small amount to me, but lunch for them. Thais on the island are struggling in these Covid times. -
Koh Madsum (Piggy Island).
Tropicalevo replied to phetphet's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Definitely pigs on the island. Although they are smaller than previous photos. We organise tours there most weeks. Everyone who has been has had a good time and had fun. Includes snorkelling and fishing if you want. (My partner has been three times this year!)
