Are you "all in" in your relationship?
Tropicalevo replied to sidjameson's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I pray that you will get over the loss. There is always hope. Mind you, I lost the love of my life and best friend for 35 years 8 years ago. I am just not interested in finding someone that good again. -

Depending on how long you have lived overseas, you may no longer receive free NHS treatment. I was refused the last time that I was back in the UK. -
Bride hunting has been going on for ever. Poles, Russians, Slovenians, Ukrainians, etc etc. I worked with a guy in Tokyo back in the early '90's. He was almost retired. His Russian wife was in her mid to late 30's. Drop dead gorgeous lady and and they had lots of sex. They had two children together. His only complaint, she never stopped nagging him.

'Special' (Private) room at Hua Hin Hospital.
Tropicalevo replied to Fortean1's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
At the government hospital here on Samui, I tried to get a private room for a friend. She had tuberculosis. Luckily, none available. If we got one, I would have had to stay in the room with her 24/7. Same thing, no nurses. -

'Special' (Private) room at Hua Hin Hospital.
Tropicalevo replied to Fortean1's topic in Hua Hin and Cha-Am
It is weird all of the different tales from the different hospitals. I paid top $ to have new lenses because of cataracts. Left eye day 1, right eye day 2. No stay in the hospital. Procedure in the mornings, working on the laptop at the hotel in the afternoons. Your two day stay is possibly a money grab. Are you supposed to 'bid' for the private room? I had similar when I went for a colonoscopy. Three day stay in the hospital. (But it was a very nice room.) Private rooms at the government hospital here on Samui - as rare as rocking horse schitt. Private rooms in the six private hospitals - no problem. -
Sadly, this kind of thing is not unusual. Luckily, it is not that common. A very good friend of mine had a daughter - aged 12 or 13. Usual story. My friend moved to Bangkok to work, leaving the daughter in the care of her grandmother. The grandmother was caught trying to sell my friend's daughter's virginity. My friend refused to involve the police. She just moved away from her mother, taking the daughter with her. Grandmother was a compulsive gambler. There were more issues after this one but not relevant here.

Man Attacks Store Owner with Iron Pipe in Samut Prakan
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Hopefully he 'struggled' and they had to 'subdue' him. Violently. -
We use them on swimming pool overflow tanks. So far, so good. The ball type were always breaking off.

Foreign pickup driver flees after crashing into Thai woman in Phuket
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
You could swap the words foreigners and Thai in the last five quotes and that would be similar to posts on AN.- 91 replies

I had noticed that. Hmmmm interesting. I am enjoying the Dunkel these days but the selection in my beer fridge is quite large. (All available from Tops.) -

My main 'go to' is Tops but Big C is a very close second. Big C's fruit and veg is definitely better than Tops. Tops has a much wider beer selection. -
Harsher Penalties for "Drunk Driving and Repeat Offenders" Demanded
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Stop feeling defensive about your habits and look at my comment again. (Maybe before you smoke?) I am not demonising anything. The article is about the dangers of driving under the influence. Yet, as always, ignorant folk think that alcohol is the only problem. Drug driving (any mind-altering drugs) is dangerous. It is now more common in some parts of the world than drink driving, yet most people think that drink driving is the only problem. It's not. and today... https://aseannow.com/topic/1337958-foreigner-steals-taxi-while-high-on-cannabis-crashes-into-lamp-post/ -

I would add to that - Don't drink, take drugs, or smoke weed and drive. -
As you say, nothing yet. The new government has only been officially in place for a week or so. They may have bigger issues to push through.
