E-cigarette manufacturers target students with new ‘toy pod’ trend
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes - there are studies. Lots if you try Google or DuckDuckGo https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/what-does-vaping-do-to-your-lungs I did not say 'just as dangerous' Just that it can cause as much damage.... -
Muslim extremists will happily kill innocent folk anywhere in the world. It is a shame that the Russian army is busy invading and murdering other innocent folk elsewhere otherwise Putin could have been like Israel and sent his army to invade ISIS territory.

E-cigarette manufacturers target students with new ‘toy pod’ trend
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They are probably made in China and just distributed here. Instead of threatening to put warning labels on alcohol, they should go after vaping. It can cause just as much damage to the lungs as smoking can. Mind you, tricky when some MP's are told to vape outside and not inside the government house. -
Russian woman blames period for assault on pregnant Thai shopkeeper
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
The reason that they do is because it is convenient when being polite and following the cultural norm in removing shoes. Your entitlement does not mean that it is a stupid thing to do. -

500 baht fine and a Wai is the norm for a minor assault. One of our security guards was fined 500 baht for hitting a Thai that swore at him. -

I hope that the Intoximeter shown in the photograph is more accurate than the famous 'bomb sniffer' guns that the Thais bought some years back. -
Tinder ad slammed as an insult to Isaan women and Korat cuisine

Wow - that is an amazing piece of fiction Jonathan, but Gulliver's Travels was better. I guess that wry humour is wasted on you. Hope that you have a better day tomorrow. -

Here on Samui there is a good real estate agent called Century 21. The sales people there have been some of the best that I have met. (The bar is not set very high.) I understand that they have an office in Pattaya. Having said that - it is obviously down to how professional the individuals are but it might be worth having a chat.

What devices are best for constant dog attacks?
Tropicalevo replied to NONG CHOK's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
They also do no not like loud noise. I have a loud voice and I shout NO! once or twice. That usually works. I lady friend with a quiet voice used a tin with some stones in it. She would rattle it vigorously in their face. Again, she said that it worked. -

Northern Thailand braces for severe air pollution crisis
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
What is the point in declaring Chiang Mai a disaster area? For once, PM 'Spend It All' might be correct. Nothing will change. It will still be same old - blame Laos. Blame China. Blame Burma. Blame foreigners etc etc. -
That's all they need for the TM 30. I give hotels a photo copy. (I rarely carry a passport in Thailand.)

Thai govt’s cash splash: 500 billion baht digital wallet green light
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So true. People think that everyone has 'smart' phones and internet access. Not to worry though. The hi-so's in their Ferrari's will be OK with their up-to-date latest version iPhones will still get their 10k. "Boss" is already thinking about what to spend his on. -
Electricity bill scam plauge Thailand - Warning
Tropicalevo replied to george's topic in Thailand News
It is a great idea. 3 hours or lost money. Up to you. NB I never spent more than 10 minutes in the local PEA office when I used to pay them. Never needed to show a passport when paying any bill. Certainly not in the PEA office. They will take money off anyone.- 69 replies

Thanks BigStar. From that link - I am having all of those issues, but for months. Not sure that rolling back that update will help. (I actually switch off the wifi at night to stop updates but Microsoft still tries to get round it.)
