Thailand’s Largest Gold Dragon Necklace Unveiled: Weighs 456 Baht, Worth 23 Million Baht
It is only an investment. Something to brag about. Better looking and more visible than bitcoin - just. Personally, I don't wear the stuff, apart from one very small crucifix that belonged to my late wife. I think that it is a bit sad to see people walking around and wearing gold necklaces on the outside of their clothes. It also encourages theft.

Elderly Recycler Killed on Pedestrian Crossing After Being Hit Twice by Motorbikes
We have a lot of zebra crossings here on Samui. We do not have many of these signs. See below Mind you, I am not sure that they would make much difference as it seems that most signs are ignored anyway. When the hotels paint a crossing on the road, there are signs as well as a guard with a lit up baton to wave folk down. To be fair, I do see more people now stopping for crossings these days, probably due to all of the bad publicity in the press.

Arsenic Contamination in Kok River Exceeds Safety Limits, Residents Warned Not to Use Water
No - from the Chinese who are operating the gold mines. I think that the article was in the BP yesterday (or Friday). Today's article in the BP is the same as this one. Unfortunately, the people of Burma, the United Wa State Army in this case, fighting the illegal military are short of money and weapons, so they let anyone with cash do what they will.

Motorcycle Crash Claims Lives of Mother and Daughter, One-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured
With no available or economical public transport in most of Thailand, people have very little choice other riding motorbikes. Yes, it is dangerous but there is little or no alternative. Rural folk usually have zero options. So sad when it all goes wrong, as in this case.

Bangkok Building Collapse: China Defends Its Companies
'investing heavily in local industries' by fraudulent transactions, avoiding taxes, illegal employees and lots of brown envelopes ad infinitum. The Revenue Department has filed a criminal complaint against Xin Ke Yuan Steel Co, which supplied steel for the construction of the State Audit Office (SAO) building before its collapse, for fabricating more than 7,000 invoices worth over 200 million baht. Weak Baht Fails to Spark Tourism Boom, Safety Concerns Prevail
Nothing to do with fear of natural disaster. TAT scraping the barrel of excuses. Warnings of a mega earthquake in Japan and the tourists keep on coming. I would say that the problem is scams, scams and more scams. Especially focussed in Chinese folk.

Motorcycle Collides with Trailer, Rider Dies at the Scene
I am surprised that he did not throw in alcohol and drugs as well. The fact is that he should have waited for all traffic to stop. A fact that very few people on the roads here consider. Sadly, in Thailand, no one gives way to motorcycles. They all expect the bike to stop.

Australian Teen Dies in Koh Samui Motorbike Collision
Thankfully, it only lasts for one day here on Koh Samui. Very dangerous for a motorbike rider though. A full buck of ice cold water - with ice cubes, thrown straight in your face!

Thailand’s 2025 Census: What You Need to Know
But it does ask for DOB. You can skip that but you have to enter your age. Thailand is moving towards woke. It asks for your sex and then the last question is asking for the sex that you prefer to be recognised as. For ladyboys perhaps?
