  1. Go for it, why not !!!!!!!

    You are joking? Aren't you?

K-Water - check them out, particularly in their home country. This is the company that made a big fuss of welcoming a certain fugitive criminal Dr, Ex- PM. Nice photo shoot and welcome banner.

A Korean company, having a meeting with a criminal fugitive, on the run from a fraud conviction and facing more charges, whose sister happens to be in charge of a government wanting to place very large value contracts. An organization not too worried about the fact that EIA's haven't been carried out and that the government hasn't followed the law in tendering and trying to awarding contracts prior to EIA's and public consultations - which are now being rushed through.

Yes - go for it, good idea Einstein. thumbsup.gif

    Yep. It's an instant classic.

For some reason this government is more interested in using the Koreans over the Dutch to manage their water issues. Anybody surprised...

  2. Drink driving has been dropped because he failed a drink/drugs test?

What a joke. If he had been a truck driving from Ubon he would be serving 10-20 as we speak.

    Amazing Thailand.

Are the Red Bull F1 team aware of the amazing PR they are receiving in Asia? The BBC and The Guardian carried the story today.

When do you ever hear Red Bull Racing mention their Thai connection?

I doubt if most F1 fans even know about it.

You don't and F1 fans have no idea that the little Red Bull boy is a killer on the loose.

Plus most Thais only know it as Krating Daeng.

    I am a F1 fan. thumbsup.gif

  3. Has it ever occurred to Thai ladies that very few men (none?) go to Thailand desparately seeking a white skinned girl ? For those men who care about this issue, the opposite is more likely. The caucasian men could have saved themselves the airfare.

Has it ever occurred to you that almost no Thai women want a non Thai man?

Never. My experience is entirely to the contrary. Only one of my wife's many friends and acquaintances has a Thai partner.

I have known 10,000 Thai women (I'm a teacher). How many friends does your wife have who you know? Perhaps your wife is encountering the ethnocentric exclusion familiar to many Thai women with Farang husbands. What percent of Thai women would you say have non Thai husbands? I'll bet you less than one percent. 99% of Thai women have Thai husbands. I think that says it all.

I know white guys hear, "hello handsome man and Thai man bad" all the time but don't you realize it's a con by now?

I know white guys hear, "hello handsome man and Thai man bad" all the time but don't you realize it's a con by now?

You mean: "You handsome man, you must be butterfly"

  4. So far the government has spend about 30 billion USD on buying rice and yesterday approved a budget of 700 million USD to buy rubber. In the long run this is going to completely destroy Thailand's competitiveness in the world market but that's a problem for later I guess.

So, that's about 2% for the rubber farmers and 98% for the rice farmers. clap2.gif

  5. All red bull products should be shunned, the guy and his father who is shielding him no doubt, should be hounded wherever they go. There should be large public cursing rituals, and black magic mumbo jumbo to invoke the ghost of the murdered policeman to chase them.

Personally I do not know how to use Facebook but why do the young computer kids not get onto the social internet things and tell everyone - could even boycott the Red Bull product

Why a boycott? The company and its employees has nothing to do with this. In fact a large chunk of the company is Austrian owned.

    Instead, why not boycott Ferrari?

The family is the sole importer of Ferrari vehicles into Thailand.

I don't know why the media emphasizes Red Bull and not Ferrari.

I suggest you and others refuse to purchase Ferrari products in thailand. that will hurt the family, including the relatives and dealership employees who have nothing to do with the alleged crime more than a boycott of red Bull.

    cheers

You could have blamed Herbie but not Ferrari. A Ferrari still needs a driver.

  6. China to buy 1 million tons of Thai rice

BANGKOK, 3 September 2013 (NNT) – China has agreed to buy 1 million tons of rice from Thailand, while expressing its interest in the Thai rubber industry.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, during her visit to China, met with China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Nanning, where both PMs agreed to further strengthen their partnership and business ties. China is considered the biggest importer for Thai products and Thailand's second largest trading partner.

Both parties have agreed to increase their trade value to 100 billion US dollars by the end of 2015 as well as to increase productivity of agricultural products and enhance logistics systems of both nations.

According to PM Li, China is willing to buy 1 million tons of Thai rice, saying he has ordered related agencies to look into the matter. He also expressed his interest in the Thai rubber industry as Thailand has high quality rubber, adding that he will encourage the Chinese private sector to invest in the Thai rubber industry.

PM Li also backed the Thai Premier’s idea to connect Thailand and China through high speed train.

Meanwhile, Miss Yingluck asked Mr. Li for China to take part in Thailand’s solar energy project, while assuring that Thailand will act as a coordinator in connecting the ASEAN region with China.

The Chinese will get a very good deal. Storage in Thailand is full and the new harvest is coming.

  7. Complaining to TCP can be done concurrent to waiting.

I'm amused a bit that you are so tolerant smile.png. It seems you given up on photos too. But my inner feeling tells me you will get back your phone repaired before or on the day they have promised and your photos will be safe. However, do inform them that there is a content and if possible they won't perform a system reinitialization that would remove those dear photos from your trip.

Don't get me wrong, I am not tolerant at all just a bit restricted in my actions since I have to rely on others to chase for me since I am not Thai and the people at HTC always play dumb when I try to talk to them in English.

My office staff just called the call center and told them that they have to give back the phone next week (as earlier promised). They said that because there was a long waiting cue, they could not promise that.... We asked their address to file complaints (send a letter) and they told us they were not allowed to say where their office is. If we wanted to complain we had to do it by e-mail.

After a long argument, the lady promised to give us an update later today.

If they call back and give us a later date than next week, we will not accept the phone anymore. We are going to make that very clear.

    Will keep you posted.

Nobody called back on that day (Aug 27) so I called them around 6 PM in the evening. The guy told me the same story, waiting for a new screen from Taiwan and he couldn't tell me when the phone would be ready. I got very angry and told him that this was unacceptable to give an "update" like that after I had been waiting for 3 weeks. I told him I would wait 1 more week (total 4 weeks) and if still not finished I wouldn't pick up the phone anymore and would start fighting to get my money.

Just gave them a call and guess what, the phone had been ready since Aug 30 but they forgot to call me... Anyhow the good news is that it's ready (and working properly I hope).

I will pick it up asap and will let you guys know whether or not I lost all data. Which, again, will be strange because only the screen was broken.

  8. amazing Abhisit look like a dwarf near Blair.

well when you Blair's legacy, no wonderwhistling.gif

The other paper in an editorial today endorses Blair's very useful contribution and criticises Abhisit for staying away.Interestingly and providing no succour for the government the foreign dignitaries including Blair set no store on an amnesty.

I agree that Abhisit comes out of this looking like a tosser.

The other paper also said that amnesty is still on for PT. Abhisit was therefor right to stay away. He had predicted this from the start.

Irrelevant.Attendance by the opposition wouldn't have implied endorsement of PTP amnesty policy.Indeed it would have given the Democrats an excellent opportunity to explain their objections.

The other paper was right to criticise.Abhisit behaved like a petulant child.

Again, did they say child? Or is jayboy making something up again.

If somebody here says that Blair got paid then jayboy get's very nervous because it is not proven. Meanwhile, he makes up stories all the time himself. Funny.

Normally I ignore posts as unintelligent as this but for the record my comments on Abhisit's pathetic performance are my own.Blair is unattractively interested in money but it seems quite clear he wasn't paid a fee this time, and his presentation was an impressive one.

but for the record my comments on Abhisit's pathetic performance are my own

Ah ok that must be the reason you hide behind other papers and other posters when you call him a child and tosser... coffee1.gif

  11. The funny part is that the guy leaves a few days before the deadline and most probably will return very soon. My guess is within this week.

So the most the guy wants to "sacrifice" is a few days out of Thailand. No shame. But hey TIT. If he would have carried a gun and killed a cop in a nightclub, hey also would have gotten away with it.

Even the police seem to be ready (for a few baht) to cover up the death of one of their fellow officers. What a bunch of jokers.

So what do we have now:

    1. Speeding can't be proved anymore

    2. Reckless driving therefor also can't be proved

    3. Hit and run...well the poor guy was in a shock and went home. Nothing wrong with that. Again, he didn't run, HE JUST WENT HOME!

    Verdict. Not guilty.

    Next!

  12. First I thought that this article was about Zimbabwe until I read that the government has offered a bounty of 150,000THB for the attackers. Since the amount is so small, I guess that they are very keen for the truth to be discovered.

What number would you pick to show you care? Go on, pick a number that would satisfy everyone . . .

    THB 8,000,000

Who in the world is going to take a risk fro THB 150,000? You might get killed for opining your mouth.
