  1. Hope that is a communication error as it makes no sense regarding the limited number. Every time I've gone there were either no one at the 90 day window or only a hand full. I suspect it was for extensions or other services. Hope this is clarified as I have to do mine next week. wink.png

I wonder if perhaps due to crowds they can no longer afford a 90 day only window?
  2. Have a Dainese and a cheap RS Taichi too, both too hot. The Dainese is super light, but again no zip in liner, and hot when stopped, though not as bad as the Airwave. Main issue is I bought it in black. Som nam naa, I know.

Dainese Airframe has a nice zip in liner & with it out the

jacket flows a lot of air.

Hot when stopped? All jackets & even no jacket I am hot when stopped

    these days biggrin.png

Well actually we all know no jacket is hotter than a light jacket

I guess just keeping the direct sun off your skin is a plus as most Thai's

    seem to know also.

    All jackets are hot?

That would be an argument if it were not for jackets that aren't. My Yellowcorn jacket was not hot. I mean sure if it's 40 degrees and you're in the sun it's hot. By not hot I mean the Yellowcorn kept me cooler than riding with no jacket.

Revit Airwave is hot in comparison. I might give Dainese a second look - the one I had sure flowed loads of air, but it didn't have the zip in liner and made the mistake of buying it in black.

Yes agreed & that is what I meant by my last sentence about wearing no jacket can be hotter

than a good one due to direct sunlight.

Yes I noticed some Dainese do not have the zip in liner.

The Air Frame does & I think those priced above it.

Below I noticed one which I forget the name now does not have the liner

  3. Where is here Mania? I have to travel from Chiang Rai down to the Bangkok area for my track days. If I won the lottery tomorrow, there would be a race track in the north, believe me biggrin.png

Wow now I feel lazy as I am only in ChiangMai which is closer smile.png

I hope you win the lottery & I will be your tracks 1st visitor wink.png

  4. Dainese perf one piece with hump back (to stop neck wrenching in a get-off)

That is what I thought the hump was 14 years ago when I got my first hump suit smile.png

Truth is it is purely an aerodynamic benefit when in a crouch. It smooths the airflow over your helmet

onto your back & out the back rather than causing turbulence.

Down side is in a crash it in fact lets your head go back when it shouldn't.

Due to holding your shoulders off the tarmac & allowing your head to hang back

Like if you come to a stop on your back after an accident/slide with a broken neck or back/vertebrae etc.

Allowing your head to lean back when laying on your back would not be a good deal.

Normally it would not except for that hump holding your shoulders off the ground.

Obviously though it is used in highest levels of racing so the aero benefit must outweigh the risk for racers

  5. I find it hard to fathom why every single website or business has to be linked to facebook now and have a like option. Like its shoved down your throat without choice.

I could be wrong but IMO the like feature is there

to opt you into their news/updates

They no longer have to spam everyone in cyber world in the hopes of hitting someone

truly interested in their product etc.

When thought of that way it is actually a better more polite system than the old

spam email system. It is left to you to decide if you want to hear about them in your news feed.

It is easier for them because like someone mentioned about emailing so many different family members now

a business needs only do a single update & it reaches all those who clicked their like button because

they are interested in that company

  6. Why do anyone need a facebook-account?? whistling.gif To share your pathetic lives with the rest of the world!

    What purpose does it serve?

I have one & here are my reasons

I do not use it with my real name. The only friends I have on facebook

I do not actually know as they are businesses. Here in Thailand many businesses have

a facebook & it serves as their store basically. Many do not have websites & use FB for free

    instead.

Also here there are many clubs & International suppliers that have FB pages

They use them the same way.So for my hobbies I love it as a place to see what is

    new in my hobby.

So basically none know me by my real name & I surely do not share my life there.

But I use it as a great news reader of sorts for the things hobbies & products I am interested in.

When a company posts a picture of a new product it shows up there first.

I can then ask a question in the sidebar & find I get an answer immediately.

Even if it is an International company

I also use it for restaurants here because again they all have a FB page but again many no website.

    Because....FB is free

On their FB page they always have a google map showing their location, cell number, menu & some

pics of their food along with comments from others.

Actually quite a few reasons now that I think about it. But the one you listed is not among them.

  7. Expensive for sure, but worth it in my opinion. High grade Japanese materials and workmanship. Someone who wants the best will buy them.

Yes I can see the workmanship & quality

Especially in the gear shift & brake levers.

Also they seem to watch the weight. I see the pegs are hollowed

& also again the levers being cut out.

I do not see a brake lever return spring in the hardware bags.

Does that mean they use a internal one built into the brake lever shaft?

    Nice equipment for sure

  8. Thanks mate. Damn I can't see for looking. price seems fair a well for the R-S2's. I don't ride much on the street anymore, apart from ferrying my bike for transport to the track and I need to pension off my Oxtars. Had a lot of guys mention that they really don't cut the mustard anymore. smile.png

    No problem Garry

Yeah their prices are as good as the USA really

When I compare at a big discount place like Revzilla

Your so lucky if I had a track nearby I wouldn't ride the street either wink.png

All I ever do is look for nice twisty sections here

  9. Gold at roughly $1550 USD oz
For the last year $1550 has been a pretty strong floor.
Will be interesting to see if this time is the same.

Short term buyers might find this a good buy point
    au0365nyb.gif

Back to Jan 2012 three times to 1550 range

two climbs to 1800 range three if you count the one right before

Jan 2012. Almost looks like a trading range between 1550-1800

See where it goes from here & if that floor holds again

  10. I have read before & do not recall where? Maybe the Chiang Mai section

of the forum? But anyway someone else mentioned the exact same deal.

It was basically as LL stated, they are charging for their time to do it for you.

But you should be able to request the paperwork & do it yourself too.

As for registering a bike in a different province that is what stopped me buying

    a used NC30 from Pattaya

That part from what I understand is true & a bit of a hassle there after at yearly reg time.

Some had mentioned ways to correct it but it was not that easy for me.

I posted in this forum asking about it. I will try to find the thread.

    Ah here it is.....

  11. camshaft looks good and gives around nearly 10 hp up!

But i think other mods are also involved on the second dyno.

good info mania, i am waiting after Isle of Man TT for some mods for cbr500r:lol:

    looks like they started at

    26.34 hp

30.75 after Nassert R Exhaust full system

    34.33 after cams + exhaust

If I am reading that dyno correctly

Kind of hard to tell as it is not really a clear pic smile.png

But yes pretty good gain there

I am also curious to see what McGuinness does with the 500

    engine for IOM

  12. Check it out.. They are installing mister systems on some of the popular routes for Sonkran.

    http://www.cm108.com/bbb/index.php?/topic/56566-adhoaoaaeaeuouneadhoeaiaeaoa-aianeaaoui/

Hopefully if will be considered beyond the holiday because these can really improve the air when one is on the stinky roads.

I forgot to mention but last week I saw a mist truck going down the road misting

Big Yellow tank truck with a spray system along the length on top of the tank.

The weird thing is they were blazing 80-100 kph down the Airport highway while spraying.

Would think they would use it in town

  13. I've got an EVS Cooling Vest (~$40)- it can be soaked with water (and then wrung out so you're not dripping wet) and it helps keep your body temperature down due to the evaporative effect (which can last for a couple hours depending on the ambient temp and humidity)- I don't generally wear it under leather, but I'll wear it under the textile jacket I just bought.

You know I always used wicking under shirts

when racing bicycles. Made by Craft & did the same thing really did keep

you cooler/drier. Although I never tried soaking it first

It really is a good idea & now that you reminded me I may look for some here

  14. Starting to see some mods with dyno's come thru for the 250

I had posted the Corse Exhaust 16,900 baht full titanium system

one before & the seller said

it was with stock air filter when run & gained 2.63hp

I see some cams starting to come thru from Japan now

    8900 baht

Looks like they are getting some decent returns

Dyno states cam + full exhaust but does not mention what was done

ecu wise & I would imagine something would be needed on the fuel map

    side.

Interesting to see some things coming though & I will be interested

    to see how they do.

  15. why manufacturers do not produce jackets for hot countries like Thailand?

Yeah airwaves, g air etc but fixed with experience, it is still hot. even my full mesh - only mesh - cheap Komine is not keeping me cool on red lights.

I hope one day manufacturers realize that - especially the European and North American ones - there are riders in hot tropical countries like Thailand riding their bikes in need of safety and good ventilated jackets that keep them cool!

Let bombard them with emails now!!!

I just don't think it exists.

After all even today here in Chiang Mai is 102F/39c with what accuweather calls

    a real feel of 106f/41c

When it gets like this if I am on any of the big concrete roads

like highways that connect the back roads here it is so hot

the heat coming up off the heat sink that concrete & asphalt is

    actually hurts my eyes.

I'm serious if I am going slow in a section & crack open my face shield for added air

the air is so hot that after a minute I have to shut the visor because the heat pains my eyes

Now take a jacket that flows 1000% more air.....yes but that air

is still super heated. It is like a hairdryer wink.png

The only jacket that could negate that would need a built in air conditioner

    that ran off batteries laugh.png
