  1. What have they taken away from you since you've been here?
  2. Read wrote I wrote: A business - if you are American via the treaty of amity, or via the BOI if not (and if your business qualifies).
  3. A condo. A car. A motorcycle. A business - if you are American via the treat of amity, or via the BOI if not (and if your business qualifies). You can't own land. Everything else of mine is 100% owned by me.
  4. Yawn. So Suvarnabhumi can't get any praise because it was designed by a foreign company? Right. Weird how when people on here complain about it - the long walks, the bus gates (because international and domestic are designed to be non interchangeable), the cavernous spaces - they blame the Thais. Boring.
  5. Online. This is physical check in and getting rid of your bags 24 hours in advance. And online check in is handled by your airline, not the airport.
  6. I think the outside looks great - pretty unique, and it has some nice gardens and sculptures etc. Inside I agree is bland although again there are interesting artworks and sculptures if you haven't become jaded by seeing them a million times. Always see tourists taking photos with the Giant Ramayana statues in the check in building, also the Churning of the Milk thing after immigration always has a crowd. Haven't been to SAT-1 yet but does look cool from the pictures.
  7. Oh my God, why are people on here so stupid, so anti Thai, so negative that they come out with stuff like this? Do you really think they introduced it to make people go to the airport twice??? Changi introduced something similar and it is a good service for those who want or need it. Imagine you are flying late night. Your hotel kicks you out at noon. Lots of short term transit passengers stay near the airport. Go in the morning or the day before, check in, your bags are gone and safe, then you are free to roam the city and do whatever you like. Just come back in time for your flight. Oh, and airlines do not offer early check in with bags 48 hours before. They offer online check in 48 hours before. Generally the bag drop counters and regular check in desks open three hours before your flight. Thai Airways is the exception as their check in desks are manned 24/7 but even they limit how early you can check in as there is no process for automatically storing bags - until now. If you live here, if you don't need the service, turn up and check in for your flight 2-3 hours before like you normally do. This is a service for people who might find it useful, it is not compulsory. It is just an added convenience for some passengers. Again, do you really think people now have to make an extra trip?? I despair.
  8. Who's buying a new battery after seven years? Seven years would still be under warranty. And LFP batteries have been proven to last much much longer. Just more misinformed nonsense.
  9. Wow, you're a piece of work. Childish, vulgar, aggressive, childish, you make things up, you labelpeople who don't share Trump's morals (if he has any) or beliefs as "communists", childish, immature, and childish. Goodbye.
  10. Wait, so where did he admit he was a communist?? He just said he is against Trump's values. So unless there's another post where he says he has communist values then consider my apology retracted. And consider my earlier post reinstated.
  11. I can't be bothered back tracking through your conversation with someone else but if indeed he has admitted he is a communist and that is why you were referring to his communist values then I got it wrong and apologise.
  12. Simple, don't buy from a second hand tent - they are generally unscrupulous and untrustworthy. All the major brands sell certified second hand cars, so they have been inspected for QC, you get a warranty with them, you can trust what you are buying. Transparent pricing too. Toyota Sure Honda Certified Volvo Selekt BMW Premium You get the idea, you can search for other brands' certified used cars. Never trust a tent.
  13. Why so childish on the right? Why is someone who doesn't like Trump a "communist"? It's really pathetic. It's possible to not respect lying, misogynistic, egotistical, mentally unstable, borderline racist wannabe dictators and also not support communism you know.
  14. Yeah. I got a puncture once when I was maybe 2kms in. Had to call the truck of shame. When I finally got picked up and had to drive the whole loop back to the start you can feel eyes on you and people thinking "wow, he gave up early!".
  15. Ok thanks. Never taken my own bike - I always rent there.
  16. It is superb. 24 kms, three rest stations along the way if you need them. It is so well built and so well organised, and pleasant: birds, lizards, I've seen the odd snake and, erm, lots of planes. It is incredible that this facility is completely free (if you take your own bike). You can also rent them there, 440 baht for a good quality hybrid, up to 880 baht (I think) for a 300-400k thb carbon road bike. The first time you go you need to register for Znap which is an RFID wrist band that gives you access and also that you can add money to to pay for stuff (food, drinks, bikes). You will need your passport for this. But after you have your Znap you keep it forever and never need show ID again. Also to note that it is entirely cashless so you can pay for stuff either by Znap or by QR scan. Final note: it can be really hard work. There is no shade, and because it is parallel to active runways you will be riding into the wind for a good 11-12kms on each circuit. And that wind can be STRONG. Two loops is enough for me. Also if you go early morning or early evening you will see hundreds of Thai cyclists riding millions of bahts worth of high end machinery. The gear on show is unbelievable and hundreds and hundreds of people. So the people on here who said Thais don't ride knows nothing at all. Conversely if you go in the daytime it'll be pretty empty, but also almost unbearably hot.
  17. Yeah, those are the 10 baht each way ones. Take your bike on.
  18. Yep, still there and still a great place to ride. If taking your own bike there is a larger boat (can take motorcycles) from Bang Na Pier. Or you can get the rickety boat from Wat Khlong Toei Nok pier. 10 baht each way (if I remember correctly). Like you say you can get your own bike on but at the pier on the other side where you get off the boat there is a massive rental shop. 100 baht gets you a decent hybrid bike and a free bottle of water. I think a rickety one with a basket on the front is something stupid like 30 baht but definitely go for the hybrid. It's a really great and super cheap day out and hard to believe you are so close to the middle of Bangkok. Very pleasant indeed.
  19. Not bitter at all. I just think it's hilarious that out of a country of over 300m (and some of them are quite intelligent) the best they can do is to replace one doddering old mentally challenged weirdo with another one, and one that is also a misogynist, a liar, a criminal, and a borderline racist. I'll just sit here and watch the lunacy unfold.
  20. Why is that that angry right wingers can never spell or use grammar or punctuation properly? It's a common theme. Just curious.
  21. Er, what are you on about exactly? You have lost the plot and are making things up now. Trying reading my posts. I said people should have a right to do what they chose: private education, private hospitals, whatever they want. Just pay for it and don't whine about it. So again, what are you on about?
  22. When have you ever queued for hours??
  23. Yes, it's not bad, but compared to many EVs (and the way it looks!) it is a bit disappointing.
  24. Yes, and if my kids' school fees went up by 20% here I might change schools too. The difference is in the UK you have a perfectly good state system to put them in for free, one that is going to be significantly better funded under Labour. Don't tell me you really believe that. Carrdus school (the one in trouble because of the pesky VAT) is £5,350 PER TERM!! And these are little kids (year 3 to year 6). Then there are the extras. But no, it's not for the rich. Who is paying £5,350 per term for 7-11 year olds unless they are well off? I have nothing against the rich by the way, I am all for them. I don't care much for people who have generational wealth but for self made people I have total respect, and if they want to put their children through private education they should have that choice. As they should have the choice of private medical cover. Or what car they drive. Or how big their house is. And if they can afford a yacht or a private jet all the better for them - go for it. But don't come out with ridiculous comments to support your made up mind. Private education is mostly for the rich in the UK. End of.
