The main problem is that : 'You cannot tell if you are dealing with a docile Pit Bull, (yes there are some amazingly well behaved ones), or with a time bomb (well documented behavior). When I see a German shepherd, I have no fear, even if I know that some can be dangerous. If an owner tells me that his German shepherd is not dangerous, my tendency is to believe him. When I see a Pit Bull, I have fear, based on statistical facts. Even if the owner of such a dog will claim that his dog is docile. These dogs are docile until they are not. They are part of the statistics, and part of grieving families who claim that they had no idea that their dog could kill their family members, kill their children. The risk is there, for their own family, and quite compounded when dealing with strangers. If it makes someone feel comfortable to keep in their back yard a war bomb that did not explode, because it makes him feel good, feel safe, keeping unwanted people away, and still claiming this this bomb is a docile one, never exploded before, maybe even de-fused, never know. Well, just do not invite me on your property. I feel better seeing swings and slides for children in back yards. Or even a German shepherd. Just the way I am.

Pit Bulls, Able to use lethal force, at whim, without warning. When such dogs are allowed to roam free, it is tantamount to someone walking in a war zone, without any knowledge of being in such a danger zone. Non-trainable dogs, even of no interest for police, totally useless to them, must be a reason for that... The last tragedy I read about, is a family who lost their two children, in a sudden attack of their two beloved Pit Bulls, which had been part of the family for 8 years.

How To Spot An American You probably missed it in the rush of the news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had advertised in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American... any American. So an Australian Dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is, so they would know when they found one. An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan. An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans. An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God. An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person the pursuit of happiness. An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, 2001, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. Americans welcome the best, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These, in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. The World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 other countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists. So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, anywhere, is an American.

Using a new agent for renewing retirement visa

Where are you located? -
Well, I had my own experiences with African people. I used to provide rooms for African students coming to my country to study. I welcomed them. I treated them like I do with students from my own country. But then reality hits. These people all want others to adjust to them. Even when I explain that when I visit other countries, I do some reading on the culture there, what to do and what not to do. They could not understand that. They simply reply that they cannot abandon their ways of life.. Then I made some research, and checked on African culture, and I ended up on a site that described world IQ. Not made to demean any people or country, just facts. The I could understand why people from Cameroun could not understand basic concepts, the average IQ for that country is about 68. A bit challenged as we would think. I could not get them to close the refrigerator door, because they claimed that it was not needed, because there was a thermostat inside. No kidding. And the food and spices used, waking up people because of the stench. When I said that these spices cannot be used here, they simply get offended. Senegal, 78 IQ, no need to wash the bath tub, bed sheets, and more, for 6 months. Did not even know that this might be needed. And so on and so on. The list is too long. You can start at a level of 'not being a racist', and these people will slowly make you become one. And I do hope that this only applies to first generation newcomers. I keep my hopes I am an optimist hehe. Regards https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/average-iq-by-country

Rental Exit Strategy
Andre0720 replied to Padthaigoong's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
So there are rights and responsibilities in such a case. And it goes both ways. Renter: The right to obtain the rental fee as agreed upon. The responsibility to provide a place that is exempt from hidden flaws that would make a place unlivable. Tenant: The right to a normal occupation of the rented place, including peace and quietness. The responsibility to maintain the rented place the way it was at the time of renting. The responsibility to pay the rent as agreed upon, when there are no hidden flaws that would make the rented place unlivable. In this instance, the poster did not describe his reasons for wanting to break a contract, with or with out penalty. -
Over time, the heat in Thailand will damage the monitor screens. Fixing such a damaged screen will cost way too much, to be left still with an old monitor. The better option, is to buy a new one.

Definitely the best option he will ever find. -
Well, the rule of thumb here followed by Thai renters, is 'Motorbikes are for rent, but not to Thai people'. Best insurance that they can get...

Well, I did listen to this fellow. And yes, there are truths in what he says, but then it is followed by an untruth, fallacy or otherwise. He seems to try to put lots of emphasis on something true, so that everything that follows appear true also. Listen to him again.. This guy does not deserve any attention at all. Some of his readers find him creepy. Must be a reason for that...

I have lived in Thailand for some 15 years. And I have seen nothing of what you are describing. And as you say, yes, there are Thai bashers, but there might very well be a reason for that. Motherhood statements they are. But perhaps start with Thai women, and see if you can get them interested in these irresponsible men. All I see around me are Thai women living alone, or with their children. The irresponsible men are long gone. Children, too expensive for the selfish culture. I keep telling Thai women, that if they were in my country, there would be a network of friends working at match making. Here they are not interested in that. Might just be a reason for that...

Well, had one male whom I thought was a friend, and one female neighbor. All I can say is that if you do not have a Thai friend, count your blessings. And if a Thai person starts befriending you, be very very careful.

Zebra crossings - solution found in Iceland

As an optical illusion, I love it. As a means to make people stop, well, it might (sic) work one time. Meanwhile, get the police out of the Amazon coffee shops.... -
I simply cannot hear the word 'sorry' any more. The word sorry should be accompanied with an equivalent voice tone and body language, showing that one is genuinely sad, and repentant for an action that caused pain or damage to someone. Here, I see a smile, a quirk, when this word is used, not genuine, and particularly when someone says it twice, like 'Oh sorry sorry', with no sign of being repentant, none. So all I see is are lies. A 'Wai', should be used to show respect towards other people, but I see only a mechanical gesture, before again doing something totally selfish, and devoid consideration toward others. Or in this instance, the 'wai' is used to beg for others to find a person not responsible (again), for his actions. The words used carry only a 7% significance of a message that one is trying to convey, the tone 38%, and the body language, 55%. A 'Wai' is used with no words, so no intonation to judge its truthfulness, and the body language is a mechanical gesture forced upon children to show their irrelevance compared to adults, or people of authority.
