  1. So just have a look at what is really happening in Palestine right now. Palestine is fueled by hatred, which leads to its desire to more and more war. As long as kids will be taught to 'hate' as well, no peace will happen there.... And as long as hate is kept as a primary emotion in Palestine, history will indeed repeat itself... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CClvwPz43mc
  2. I simply wrote about my own experience. So if your own experience seems contrary to the one in my country, well, so be it. Your state of facts is certainly as good as mine. And I was simply suggesting something that might have happened. And I was pointing at what I think might (or was) a fact, that the Viets are not known to be in hard drugs in my country. And your reply does not contradict that. Cannabis farm, not hard drugs as they are. But you might certainly be right about the Mohammed(s), if it is bad, it can surely be expected from Arab Muslims, driven my their middle age book, as underage white girls is certainly part of it. Heroin, perhaps. More certainly into selling it to make girls more easily compliant to their desires... Regards
  3. In January 1945, with the Soviet army approaching, Nazi officials ordered the camp abandoned and sent an estimated 60,000 prisoners on a forced march to other locations. When the Soviets entered Auschwitz, they found thousands of emaciated detainees and piles of corpses left behind. And even today, the Germans are still ashamed of what they did to people. Yes, they were people just like them. And now they treat their prisoners in a humane way. Afraid that anyone would remind them of these events. "Do not do to others what you would not want done to you” is a fundamental principle of fairness and empathy known as the Golden Rule. It means that you should treat others with the same kindness and respect that you would like to be treated with." Also the same way to define 'being civilized'. If anyone here would agree to see his son or daughter treated the way this guy was treated, for a fault that would not even make eyebrows raise, well that would mean that this person disagrees with Confucius, and would celebrate this life lesson taught to one of his children. Shame on you....
  4. I do go out enough, but thank you for your suggestion. Simply strange for me that only two people died at that event. And no Asians, and no Americans de Souche, and no Canadians de Souche. I do not know where you come from, but in my country, Vietnamese and Arabs, whether we like them or not, are not the typical kind to take hard drugs. But at least my post allowed you to throw a bit more vitriol. You are welcome....
  5. Quite a-typical. Only suggested cause would be drugs, and as we know, drugs are too often mixed with more potent drugs, to create addiction, (fentanyl as it usually is) and create a regular user. Vietnamese. Origin not known for that. The so-called Canadian, Muslim as his name would suggest. Also origin not known for that.... Quite strange. But same location would suggest something available at that gathering, spiked as it would appear, and perhaps taken unknowingly by these two people....
  6. The 'survival of the fittest' principle failed to do its work here....
  7. Well thanks for your contribution. But here is a video about Trump's nominee for DHS Secretary "At today's Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) questioned Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD), President-elect Trump's nominee for DHS Secretary, about her border actions. Appears that they forgot to mention the price of eggs. It is people like you who should be invited to these hearings, for the betterment of the US society. This wall will certainly halt the importation and distribution of eggs. How sad...
  8. This summarizes very well what 'mankind' is........
  9. Quite right. And what he will do must be what the people who elected him want. And these people who did elect him want the borders secured, and an end to the invasion to people who cannot adapt to the US culture. And want their country to be free from criminal gangs, of drug traffickers, and want to be safe in their country. I hope like you that he will succeed
  10. I do not believe that it will be possible to change the Thai culture as it relates to the food that they eat. Everything is about sugar (now widely considered as a poison), and cheap seed oils (now widely considered as unhealthy). If for most Thais living in non-rural areas, the source of their food is from small restaurants, cooking as cheap as possible, with these added sugars and salts as taste enhancers, and cheap oils, heated to a point of toxicity, all delivered to your home by the Grab type of service. And with a great choice of ultra-processed foods, so convenient to calm the appetite of the young ones. And they like it that way. So eating healthy here, it will not happen. I went to all restaurants and asked if they had food with no sugar. It does not seem to exist, of if so, difficult to find in Thailand. And actually, they are surprised that anyone would ask such a question. All food is laced with refined sugar, or contains sauce from a bottle, that contains typically some 20% of refined sugar. I asked many restaurants if they had food with no sugar. Then i realized that nobody reads what is inside the bottled sauces that they buy. One lady told me that there was no sugar in her Pad Thai. So I asked what was in the red sauce in her pad Thai. She answered 'Ketchup'. So I stopped eating Thai food, entirely. I do my own cooking. No refined sugar in my apartment, and no bottled sauce. No ultra-processed food either. Healthy food is described as fresh fruit and vegetables, Food that is fresh in the sense of 'alive'. And food that will not die, is because it is not 'alive'. Anything that you can keep for weeks or months, is not dead food. Ketchup is the reference item. It will simply not die. And now there are experiments with even 'burgers', kept on a shelf. And remains looking good for many days. So how much chemical products do we add the sugars and seed oils, and processed foods. If one eats Thai food, it is impossible to not eat these poisons. Bon appetit... And if you combine that with the lack of exercise of the new generation, too focused on the I-Phone screen, the result is seen on the body of people, particularly children and women. As men seem to have a better shape than their female counterpart, primarily (I would presume), because they are the ones with jobs that require to be active. There is a reason for what is happening to people here. And the obesity will soon be accompanied with diabetes and coronary heart disease. Soon.
  11. Oh yes Buddhism. And mistreated wives, girlfriends, children, so many of these children forgotten in the care of a grandmother...
  12. I was surprised to see that French nationals would do such a thing.. So I wanted to read about this... Only to realize that these are the French nationals who consult the Koran before determining the course of action. So they were following orders stipulated in the Koran, and acted upon people who were not following their orders regarding the clock. You see if you read this paragraph, and then apply it in the real world, then the course of action becomes very clear.... 😊
  13. "Immediate action and sustainable planning are indispensable " Immediate action needed to change the culture in Thailand. If we observe the speed that the Thai culture is changing its behavior on the roads, might take some time, if ever. Mainly because Thai people simply do not care about these things... Garbage is thrown everywhere, land is space where to throw plastic drink containers, papers, plastic bags and so on. "Is culture difficult to change? Culture is resilient. Finally, for precisely the reasons cultures can be so powerful, they are difficult to change. Implication: Changing a culture takes committed leadership, often requiring years of concerted and consistent effort, including intensive work to communicate and reinforce desired new behaviors and values". Based on this, what would be an estimation of time required to achieve any result....
  14. Well, no harm done. As just about everybody nowadays hold their smart phone in their hands, even while driving, and can check on the time of day at will. So just candies were stolen....
  15. "His remarks sparked further outrage, with many asserting that no one deserves to be physically assaulted, regardless of their gender" Oh, looks to me like a wisdom statement that applies to civilized countries.
  16. Have you ever tried using only air to fill your lungs. Most people who had a good strong model in childhood end up not needing anything else in their lungs, and perhaps blood, to feel like a complete human being. Just try it, and it will also prevent you from writing inane texts on this forum. Please and thank you...
  17. The OP account (to me) is fanciful. So you admit that it is merely an opinion. Fanciful not something very factual now is it. While I am trying to explain to you that when people age, their perception of events get more emotional. As it is a fact for me, I just thought that some other people would agree with this statement, which is also a fact for the poster. Fanciful is quite degrading as a way to describe perceptions of aging people...
  18. Seems to me that you might be in a younger age group, which might explains why you are unable to understand the feelings of older people. You are definitely wrong on this. Just wait some years, then you might be able to understand...
  19. And I also do not understand your post. this is the information that the poster provides: "I am 81 years old and wheelchair assisted, so when I was wheeled into immigration for wheelchair assisted people, I could see that what was Coming and to my horror a young female immigration officer and straight away new that things would not be easy . " Nothing in there about a special treatment, nothing about a priority lane. The poster describes the situation as a source of anguish. Which is my point. At his age, people should be aware of how simple matters might be perceived. and act accordingly, with added courtesy. I thought that just about everybody would understand that. Not you, so it would appear...
  20. I am with you on this man... Seems to me that members are too quick to find fault in your take on how you were treated (processed). As we age, same event are perceived differently. The problem being that the younger people, an IO are in that category, are unaware of that, and think nothing in the way they deal with older people. But older people, and I am slowly becoming one of those, are done with these small things that are just annoying. I think that at your age, you have earned the right to be treated with additional courtesy, be it at Immigration, or anywhere else. Immigration should have welcomed you once again, and wished you a nice stay. Regards...
  21. Noise, knives, baseball bats, violence, all of that intertwined with noise of fake respect, the 'Ka', 'Khap', totally useless and meaningless words, which country would that be happening in? Competition on who can ride the most noisy motorbike, which country would that be in? And the list goes on... And then the surprise that anyone would object to that..... And I now find that 'Sawasdee' just by itself, at least sounds so much nicer to the ears. 'Dee'.
  22. 'Saving face' is one of the three governing principles in Thailand. So generate money and taking care are the 2 others. The principles are the pillars of the culture here, and accepted by most if not all. The 'saving face' one is supported and requires that lies be accepted for that purpose. Brake failure is one of these lies, at least in the understanding of foreigners. Thais might just go silent at worst when presented with a 'saving face' lie.
  23. Too many comments trying to explain this tragic act, by focusing on the job, the stress, the absence of some kind of alternate work, and so on. How about describing the situation as it is. The culture here allows for a response to menial problems that includes the use of knives and guns.
  24. When I am headed to the airport, I bring a mixture of nuts, and a small bag of cereals. I thought that everybody knew that the airport is not a place to dine. I even bring a small bottle of water, that can be useful, well yes, up to the point when someone will confiscate it. People in uniform are al looking for small bottles of water in there. But they allow me to keep my snacks. 😊
