We just got the full story. So it was someone driving at an excessive speed again (Thailand), and then ran away fearing that someone would harm her after seeing this accident (Thailand). All of this is possible in an uncivilized country. Selfishness, regardless of how many silly words and gestures are used to show their fake politeness.... So let's not be surprised or offended, because the culture here will make this happen again and again....

Montreal Erupts in Violent Anti-Israel Protests
Andre0720 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Before Arab Muslims were allowed in civilized countries, we never saw such actions in civilized countries, not in recent history anyway. The Arab Muslims taught us many things, unknown before, such as a 500 ml of water is a huge danger to bring in an airplane. We did nor know that before, and thanks to these people to teach us about that. And in my town in Canada, before the teachings from these people, we could even enter the City town hall without being scanned and checked in a security entrance area. Wow, how dangerously we lived back then. Ah, I feel so secure nowadays. Well, I am still wondering what they do with my confiscated bottle of water at the airport, and how they dispose of all these threats. I will never see water in the same way again... -
Trump has psychiatric issues and probably taking SSRI's
Andre0720 replied to advancebooking's topic in Political Soapbox
Well, Kamala Harris has worse mental problems. And she is leading a party that can cause the downfall of the US. I always say that the 'right is right', politically speaking. Conservative policies lead to a better society. After some factual information from Thomas Sowell, I listened to a recent warning from Elon Musk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkaomPzaKrU And there are views out there that electing left wing Democratic parties will lead to the death of democracy. And that is even if the leader of such a bad political option would not show signs of insanity, trying to laugh her way out of serious political questions... As left wing government keep open borders, keep illegal immigrants in the country, and the number of immigrants, legal and illegal, will all vote left wing. And they will vote to keep it this way. And Conservative governments will no longer be an option, leading to having only one option, left wing, so no more democracy in such a society. Europe is now reacting, and is trying to go back to their traditional culture. Lead my Poland, Germany, Britain are going back to right wing policies. France is also reacting, maybe too late... Poland, and the result of right wing policies.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6Q5DJTDyoQ -
Many farangs coming here, late twenties early thirties, come here and strongly believe that anything goes on the streets here. From what they have seen and heard.... Any speed is fine, red lights are just a suggestion, adhered to by only by the weak ones... And that it is highly possible to run through a checkpoint, and police will not dare pursue. And those are the ones the dangerous on the roads, and sometimes do not make it back home... This one will make it back home, but with a very sorry face....

Thai man slaps famous lawyer allegedly over criticism of Islam
Andre0720 replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Seems to me that this aggressor might be of Buddhist culture... While he mentioned that his wife is Muslim.... Muslims, as you describe, are in fact looking for reasons to be offended, and then become hostile, to please Muhammad. But it is so for Arab Muslims. I am starting to wonder if the Buddhist culture also get people looking out for reasons to be hostile. All the stabbings, domestic violence, violence between gangs in school. Oh well, I saw nothing of that when I was growing up as a kid in my country.... Oh, I see here many fans of Dawkins, that I follow, and that does not require any religious belief. And as he said, if Islam was a religion of peace, its extremist members would be extremely peaceful... His view could also apply to other delusional beliefs.... -
Thai Woman, 20, Sentenced to Life in Sweden for Murder
Andre0720 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps you could benefit from your own posted link and info. Excerpt: "Since the 2000s, street gangs in predominantly immigrant suburbs of large cities have become more involved in organized crime including shootings and bombings, with 80% of shootings in Sweden occurring in a “criminal environment” mostly in disadvantaged immigrant neighborhoods according". And try using this silly reference to racism again.... Nothing to do with 'race', it is about religion and culture. And one must understand the distinction between 'Arab Muslims', and 'Asian Muslims, the latter being in no way in the same terms of level of violence, terrorism, and gang crimes as the Arab Muslims. -
Agree. Islam is not promoting terrorism, it is actually doing terrorist acts in this world. Too many to mention... But beware, only Muslims would claim what you are writing here, despite all the terror attacks and killings. So if you are a Muslim, you belief make it useless to discuss further, as Muslims have abandoned all critical thinking. So go back to killing of apostates, killing of gays, oppressing women, and try to locate some additional twin towers to aim at....

What is it in "most' that you do not understand? Islam is the most intolerant religion in the world, nothing wrong in there... I did not forget the Christians, history has forgotten their wrongdoing of the middle ages. The Muslims have kept the pace, through history. If you wish to educate yourself in these matters, just google 'Middle-East', and read about it. Would do you good. Better than just find something negative to write on AseanNow.

Well it gave you a chance to look it up for yourself, as I wrote that reasons were explained many times in the past. So since you are not one of the brightest candles, I will go ahead and educate you as well, by re-posting ONE of the numerous informational posts on this subject... " Well, re-posting this, again, for you sir.... " Re-posting this one here... Seems like you might need this knowledge as well..... "Well yes, in this land, situations are mostly related to money and territory. I am located in Phuket, and there are many Agents who offer a service of dealing with an IO on a customer behalf, for a fee. And this fee is shared between the Agent, and at a very high level at the IO, then further shared... And strangely, some of the Agents are able to conduct their business directly with the local IO, while others go through a remote IO, such as Nakhon Sawan, Krabi or Trang or.... Now why is that, I have no idea. Appears like Agents must be 'accredited' for the use of such a service at a given IO. And those Agents who appear to not be able to be accredited locally here, are always able to find a remote IO that is willing to offer such a service to Agents. But the consequence of getting a 'retirement extension' from a remote location, would mean that the IO doing a 90 day for example, would be required to do that 'free' work, while knowing very well that a non-local IO got a share of the money for the initial 'extension' work. Not happy with that. So some Agents who deal with a non-local IO, for whatever reason, will offer a free service of obtaining all 90 day reports from the IO that was used to obtain the 'retirement visa'. This of course would entail having to send the passport again and again through mail to obtain the 90 day stamps. Something that of course anyone would like to avoid. An IO can tell what process was originally used to obtain a service, through a quick glance at the passport. That is what they do for a living. A few seconds will do it... And to add to the complexity of this situation, once a foreigner has used an Agent, the IO will try as they can to keep this individual to keep on putting money in the system. Lots of money in there. Trying to do further 'retirement extensions' on your own, at the lower fee of course, will get you to be faced with all sorts of problems, being raised by the IO, to make the process as long and difficult as possible. With the aim of breaking you down and getting you back at an Agent's office, and paying the bigger fee. If one is intent on not paying for an Agent, make sure that your income taxes are in order in your country, make sure that your embassy will offer a service of confirming your income, and accept to be patient time and time again when you are told that "Oh, the for that you used is an out-dated one. Use this one, and come back some other day..... I was initially forced to go see an Agent, after the onset of the Covid era, with airport closed here, borders of neighboring countries closed, so not being able to leave the country to extend my OA visa, and not being able to stay in the country, as my visa would soon expire. 2019, 2020. When I explained that at the IO, I was told that there was nothing that they could do. The law was written this way. Then I was told in a whisper, go see an Agent, they will fix it up for you. And Agent, Oh yes." Was either using an 'Agent', or becoming an illegal in Thailand, and NOT becoming an illegal through the use of an 'Agent'. So the use of an 'Agent" is the opposite of what some people, out of ignorance, have come to believe.
-
If you cannot see any reason to use an agent, this does not mean that there are no good reasons to do so. Every time such a post is raised, some people will ask to be educated on the subject. But it has been done so many times already...

Oh yes, the refined sugar is used to thicken this black sauce. Pure poison. No need to send it back, just walk away, and fast for the rest of the day....

Australian Tourist Crashes Pickup Truck into Pattaya Drugstore

So it works. Police waiting for a call about suspicious driving, then go and administer a breathalyzer test. Gotcha... -
This is a common practice, a property owner of a number of housing units gets the electricity from the PEA, but only to his main meter. The owner subsequently gets all his housing units wired to secondary meters, from his own master meter. So the owner gets to control all these secondary meters, and bills the property renters for their electricity usage, but at an inflated price of typically 2 bahts per kWh. Not legal, but just the way it is here....

Seems like Immigration Offices do not abide by the same rules. Even the word 'legal' does not seem to have the same meaning, depending on the 'object" of the law. So one must presume that if something is not 'legal', but does not appear to be punishable by law, it then has the 'look and feel' of something legal. So different Immigration offices give a different 'look and feel' to the same deviation from the written and unwritten rules of law, in Thailand of course... An unenforced law is the same as no law at all....
