  1. Seems like Immigration Offices do not abide by the same rules. Even the word 'legal' does not seem to have the same meaning, depending on the 'object" of the law. So one must presume that if something is not 'legal', but does not appear to be punishable by law, it then has the 'look and feel' of something legal. So different Immigration offices give a different 'look and feel' to the same deviation from the written and unwritten rules of law, in Thailand of course... An unenforced law is the same as no law at all....
  2. Ankle monitors are one way of tracking individuals who are under the supervision of the criminal justice system. These devices are worn around the ankle and track an individual's movements and location using GPS technology. Used to track the whereabouts of an offender. Not necessarily about proximity to a victim...
  3. This law seems to be for the protection of all these men that Thai women no longer want...
  4. What I heard from other sources is that this traveler thought that not having bullets made this gun harmless, thus acceptable. Of course, it was a mistake. But not as if he was of a given age, and originating from a given country... Obvious mistake, or obvious evil intent, no distinction whatsoever... Might be that the common sense of an average person should be sought in cases like this one...
  5. The 'culture' in Thailand is to blame. This culture is taking its toll, time and time again, and no action is taken at any level to curb it...
  6. Thanks, so refreshing to be provided with facts, as opposed to some sharing of unwanted opinions. Oh, and I had to google that 'init' word there, hehe. Regards
  7. NOT at the Immigration Office that I deal with. Elsewhere, I do not know
  8. Quite correct sir. My mistake was to give more credit to Immigration Officers than they deserve.... Regarding Agents, the one I use is the reason I was able to stay legally in Thailand during the pandemic. Actually, as I wrote a lot on this subject previously, it is an Immigration Officer who told me to go see an Agent, when I visited the Immigration office, to explain that I could not leave Thailand, the borders being closed, and that I could not stay legally in Thailand. I even asked, 'Is there someone here that I can pay to obtain a permission to stay'. An officer came out of the plexiglass enclosure, and softy said to me: "Go see an Agent, they can fix it up for you.." And so it was... The pandemic coincided with the high ranking level order to Immigration Officers to no longer take bribes. The use of Agents was created at high level of the Immigration hierarchy, to channel all the money at that level, to be further shared at their discretion, at lower rank levels. So anyone suggesting that using an Agent is illegal, meaning punishable, is talking out of ignorance... And thanks for your reply. (You surely do not have an easy job😑)
  9. " extra fees to pay higher up Imm for an illegal transaction". May I suggest that you get educated on the subject please, before posting such ignorant comments on this site...
  10. Are you thick or what?? Not what the Agent said, what the Immigration Officer said.
  11. "If using income method then immigration will want to see 12 monthly transfers of 65k for retirement OR 40k for marriage." Problem being that this is not what the Immigration Officer replied, to my question about going home for 3 months. Get that through your head please. All these redundant replies....
  12. Oh, your hindsight is so wonderful. I followed what the message from the Immigration officer mentioned. So please stop repeating these falsehoods. The Agent is just providing a link between Immigration and the clients. The question was asked to an Immigration Officer, and the Immigration Officer provided a reply. Reply that was wrong.
  13. False. A and B above I have, certified. But the only paper immigration would accept, is an Embassy letter. Embassy letter that some countries do not provide, just to add to the complexity.
  14. I was following the advice given by an 'Immigration officer', sir... Please read before commenting please....
  15. Not worth explaining. The blame is already in the mind of people
  16. And what if someone applies for an extension, thinking that 2 weeks would be enough, but then Immigration builds up obstacles that makes it impossible to go through a process within the time left?
  17. I always do the same. Because road laws are applied unfairly. Getting a fine is simply an 'out of luck' situation. If the laws were written, applied consistently, and all would follow these laws, then an exception should be penalized, to indicate to all others that they are doing the 'right thing', such as wearing a helmet.
  18. Ok, ok, ok, pizza's here in Thailand are bad. Even using ketchup as a sauce. Sweet as they can make them. I tried one once. Just thought to myself: 'Ok, 'lesson learned', and moved on...
  19. Well, good luck with that....
  20. I would think so. Everyone knows that they are all fake. Well, nearly all...
  21. Stand up comic material... And actually good. It will make many smile....
  22. There is no level of training of Pit Bulls, that will prevent them, in great numbers, to kill. It is in their genetics. As it is in the genetics of Golden Retrievers, and even poodles, of not be inclined to kill
  23. And just make sure that you do not miss a month for the transfers. The 12 money transfers, of more than $65,000 bahts, must be consecutive, in a one year period.
  24. This culture.... And I wonder how many times this monster of an aunt said the 'Kha' in any given day....
  25. Some things I have stopped trying to understand. This is one of them...
