  1. This? I haven't been back there for years. Didn't even know it existed. Do they charge parking fees?
  2. Regulators and Big Pharma execs are the same people. It's a revolving door. Or should a university graduate start off as a regulator, but the time they have "properly regulated" pharma products, they then have a lucrative career waiting for them upon leaving the regulatory agency. The entire system is corrupt and should be burnt down and rebuilt from scratch. DOGE it!
  3. I'd prefer a middle finger emoji. I usually use the "sad" emoji when something is actually sad. People or pets getting hurt. If people say stupid stuff imho, I tend to default to a "laughing" emoji and I make a comment.
  4. High tech in our house was getting the first 13 inch colored TV and a six foot extension on the phone receiver seeing that the phone was mounted on the wall. Granted, I did watch TV back then, Saturday morning cartoons especially, but after that I spent most of my day outside playing with friends, or swimming, fishing, archery, and a whole lot of bike riding. I put a whole lot of miles on my bicycle as a kid. Yeah - those were the days. It was much simpler life and, imho, much more fulfilling.
  5. Whence goes the USD, so goes the world.
  6. Yep. --Bob Moran, Apr 2025 "The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy, but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes." -Aldous Huxley
  7. I was thinking along the lines of the various incarnations of bob smith. Then there is the human immunglobulin whose posts go immediately to the top of Popular in the Pub even when nobody is reading his posts. 👈 Zero reads - "Most Popular"! Given that Gammagobulin's posts tend a get a little boost in ratings, as I said before, there should just be a section carved out for those promoted by AN: Gammagobulin's Garden and bob smith's Soliloquies.
  8. What about Pantip. I noticed years back that computer shops and repair shops began to empty out of Pantip. It been a long time since I was there. Are there any computer repair shops in Pantip Plaza anymore?
  9. One the the biggest problems with that area is parking. Lots of shops, very little parking.
  10. They may have been the shop I deal with. Hard to tell as their receipts don't have their name on them. I'll give them a try.
  11. Is Ofcom employing freelancer outside of the UK? I could use some passive income.
  12. Back in the day in public schools.
  13. It will boil down to who has the most power and political leverage. Best to have bullet-proof glass in your car windows too methinks.
  14. I've got to make a second account and start spewing troll-bait like the other who are able to become "AseanNow's Most Popular Posters." I'm pretty sure within three months I'd have the top spot. But that would leave me pretty much without a soul. I think I'll pass on it. Tempting though, living in the shoes of a bull**** artist.
  15. Looks like Thaksin, Prayut, or Prawit. They must have the same hair stylist.
  16. The reality is that they could back a glass of water and a ham sandwich. By 2028 after over a billion dollars or more are throw into Madison Ave, K Street, and Hollywood marketing, propaganda, and lobbying, the glass of water will become a bottle of Beverly Hills 90H20 Diamond Edition elixir of life, and the ham sandwich will become A5 Kobe Beef Filet Mignon served on Pan Piña Baker Gold Leaf Bread. Reality is that they are still a glass of water and a ham sandwich, but politics, as in marketing, is all about the creation of an illusion, the ultimate prestige. Btw, for anyone who believes I'm picking on Democrats, I'm not. The US political system is a two party duopoly which are but different sides of the same coin. This applies to the entire political system which is quite rotten to the core. They'll be another billion USD spent to convince you that the two sides are actually different and then to urge you to the threshold of violence into order to show your allegiance to "your side." Politics is a grift; politicians, their donors, and supporters are but grifters. The goal is Ordo Ab Chao as it makes the rubes, the suckers, and the marks easier to fleece. 17. Did the Italian drive the boat to a restricted area? Or did the boat operator take him to a restricted area with the Italian being completely ignorant about the legality of diving in that area? I'd bet a paycheck on the latter explanation. Boat operator.
  18. He quit - that solved the situation. Given his perchance toward wishing to be confrontational as opposed to light-hearted and helpful, I'm thinking seeking a job with one of the more radical "eco" organization would be a better fit for him. Then he could get paid to rage about "ecology." I gotta agree with others though. If a foreigner is snorkeling where they shouldn't be, inform them that they are out of bounds, inform the tourist that the boat driver will be instructed to take him to a location where snorkeling is allowed, and wish him a good day. Then spend some time tracking down industrial polluters. Fyi - did the snorkeler drive the boat to that location? I highly doubt it. The snorkeler was driven by a boat captain who should know the locations where diving is allowed. So instead of brow-beating the tourist who probably has no ideas where diving boundaries are in those waters, try dressing down the boat operator. No - instead threaten the tourist with deportation. This guy is probably better suit for a different career path that doesn't deal with tourists.
  19. I guess he knows enough about Western culture to play the race card. The problem being the comment was innocuous. What if the Italian had said, "Howdy," or "Che cosa succede," or "Wazzaup." I wonder how many times the Thai/Scot has used the word, "Farang" and "Sawatdee" when referring to white tourists - can we assume racist intent? Come on, I guess we all could pull the race card on that too. "Ni Hao!" 🤔 Much ado about nothing. Perhaps he can find a Soros backed, "Eco" NGO to run.
  20. The idiot doesn't know how to gracefully leave the scene. The doddering fool is a narcissist who will continue to make a fool out of himself until the day he dies. The post-presidential lecture scene is simply the way that corporations and universities reward a president for favors he did when in office. I understand that Biden wants 300K per "talk" and transport on a private jet. They can be legally rewarded with speaking fee from 250K to 500K for an hour speech. Then you wonder why these charlatans are multi-millionaires. And where does Harvard get the money to splurge on speaking fee? Private donors at the moment for Harvard, but if those taxpayer funds where available, they'd just be funnel the government largess right back into the former president's pocket. Hell of a game, 'eh?
  21. The IT Store that built my computer was in Computer Plaza and the North Side of the moat and that entire complex is now closed. Any idea where the store when to that were inside that shop?
  22. Definitely a Darwin Award in the making!
  23. I'd say that most politicians and the majority of global citizens want WWIII. Why not. It's a Fourth Turning. Gonna happen soon enough. So? Game On!
