  1. W.....t......f with f*** representing a term that can be used as an infinitive, present and past participle, conjugations, present continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous, simple past tense. past continuous, past perfect perfect continuous, simple future, future continuous, and future perfect tenses! I'd provide examples but..... you know.... I can't. Don't for a second think that those who use said language lack English language skills. We're just - more expressive and less inhibited. Fyi, I learned how to conjugate f*** in the United States military. Thank god I came out of there with a skill set. ????
  2. Lamphun is florishing. Wife and I drove through and were commenting on the difference between Chiang Mai (which looks bombed out) and Lamphun (pretty much thriving with local and domestic business). Honestly - for the vast majority of Thailand - really? Who needs foreign tourists.
  3. "A society is only as healthy as its ideas are humane." Kurt Vonnegut
  4. "Freedom has cost too much blood and agony to be relinquished at the cheap price of rhetoric." Thomas Sowell
  5. There is a huge difference between a guy like me married to a Thai national being able to put their name on a land deed on a piece of property they'll probably die on, and voracious capitalists looking to scarf up properties and flipping them for profit. The former does nothing to real estate prices; the latter puts real estate prices out of reach of normal Thais. Which may just be the plan. Essentially the power elite are now selling the country to the highest bidders.
  6. Pattaya: New "B.L.U.E." future envisaged - forget entertainment the focus is business and leisure What is leisure without entertainment? Sitting on the beach with a bottle of Chang? Wait! Can't even do that.
  7. Latest Poll suggests two thirds of Thais believe Prayuth can get Thailand out of economic mess Most of a tiny sample of 1078 people suggests that two thirds of the sample believe Prayuth can get Thailand out of economic mess. It that poll representative of Thailand? Is it an unbiased sample? Well, there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
  8. *1. One post? My guess is it will be a post and ghost. *2. But if legit? Wouldn't this be better in the Thai Language forum. English is the only acceptable language anywhere on ASEAN NOW, except within the Thai language forum, where of course using Thai is allowed. Short Thai translation of technical terms is permitted in specialty forums. Personally I've seen too many one post wonders toss out a line and set the star-drag. Call it my "Spidey-Sense". The Op joined yesterday, posted, then goes quiet.
  9. Yep. It will decrease tomorrow and into next week.
  10. And you believe that AN members can inform you? Really. Unless a country publishes it's adverse reaction stats - well, you simply don't know. Here, try this. That's about as good as it's gonna get.
  11. Like Peter Pan. "Every Time A Child Says "I Don't Believe In Fairies" There Is A Fairy Somewhere That Falls Down Dead" With 'Conspiracy Theories." Every Time A Person Is Told That They, "Shouldn't Believe The Conspiracy Theory" There Is Truth Somewhere That Falls Down Dead." Too often nowadays, yesterday's "conspiracy theory" becomes today's 'fact.' Propaganda - in whatever form, seeks to pull the outliers toward the center - towards the 'commonly accepted narrative.' The trouble being, too often the commonly accepted narrative eventually gets shot full of holes and is in fact not the truth. Is there "whacko <deleted>" out there? Sure. Is all "whacko <deleted>" false? Nope. Over time, the Truth, like cream, rises to the top. It just takes time.
  12. Why would anyone from a Western country which have liberal medical marijuana laws - ie, where you can actually buy marijuana (flowers and leave) for medical purposes as opposed to running a medical gauntlet to get approval for a limited number of medical conditions in order to buy extremely expensive extracts made by special, connected companies. It's still very illegal to possess marijuana for even medical purposes. So - it makes no sense to come here as the medical marijuana industry is a joke. And most liberal Western countries have either legalized it or decriminalized it. Not Thailand.
  13. "Look! Totalitarianism is great. Heavy-handed state repression saves lives. Let's embrace a fully totalitarian state. That will keep the commoners in line by golly." Creepy in its connotation for the future. ????
  14. A cheap, long-term resident who doesn't seem to remember the name, Troy Lee Pilkington. There is no excuse for the Thai on Farang violence, but ignoring the reality can cost you your life - over freaking 10 THB? And the Farang now has a bad reputation in the Thai community - that isn't good. And now it has become worse. Somebody need to change the tune they are playing with the locals before it becomes downright unhealthy.
  15. If you believe that, then you don't know where to shop for rentals.
  16. Yep. Mia Chaos (rentals) are a much better investment and you get more bang for your baht. Mia Nois (minor wives) come with baggage. Thai guys will go the Mia Noi route as there is status involved. Farang don't care about status, so best to stick with the rental market. And you can switch models on a whim.
  17. One's a headache enough. Why torture yourself?
  18. Wasuthon is being deported back to Thailand by Danish authorities. Good. Quid pro quo.
