  1. It doesn't matter. A tactical strike by any country will escalate into the use of strategic weapons globally and then all surface dwellers die. The elite will go underground. You won't be invited to survive. What I find deeply disturbing is that a segment of the Earth's population believe that tactical nukes can be used without global consequences. That's a flawed assumption. Pray that you're directly under one of the resultant blasts as dying of radiation sickness will give you plenty of time to reflect on the insanity of that position.

I'm just happy I live here and not in the EU or UK.
  3. This is his exact words: "Washington, London and Brussels are openly encouraging Kiev to move the hostilities to our territory. They openly say that Russia must be defeated on the battlefield by any means, and subsequently deprived of political, economic, cultural and any other sovereignty and ransacked. They have even resorted to the nuclear blackmail. I am referring not only to the Western-encouraged shelling of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, which poses a threat of a nuclear disaster, but also to the statements made by some high-ranking representatives of the leading NATO countries on the possibility and admissibility of using weapons of mass destruction – nuclear weapons – against Russia. I would like to remind those who make such statements regarding Russia that our country has different types of weapons as well, and some of them are more modern than the weapons NATO countries have. In the event of a threat to the territorial integrity of our country and to defend Russia and our people, we will certainly make use of all weapon systems available to us. This is not a bluff. The citizens of Russia can rest assured that the territorial integrity of our Motherland, our independence and freedom will be defended – I repeat – by all the systems available to us. Those who are using nuclear blackmail against us should know that the wind rose can turn around." Source: http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/69390 There are no winners in a nuclear war. Every sane person world-wide should be encouraging all sides of the conflict to deescalate and open a sincere dialogue. Just stop - talk now! Regardless of who strikes first with nukes, the world ends. Mutually Assured Destruction. The only ones who escape will be your "leaders" and their closest corporate friends. They all have little incentive to stop this madness because they know they will survive. You and I? We will not.
  4. So they are due to shortages, but the shortage are created artificially, ie, via the monopolization of supply and distribution.
  5. Btw. Just bought chicken carcasses for the dogs. Last trip to Marko they were 38THB/kg. This trip they're down to 28THB/kg.
  6. The vegetable inflation is a urban phenomenon. Local vegetable are plentiful and the prices in rural Thailand don't budge. You neighbor selling at the local market isn't gong to jack the prices of veggies you yourself can grow. If the prices move locally, we'll just extend our garden.
  7. Lamphun province. It's off the chart for most farangs.
  8. My bird would love those. The only ones I can find for her are fried. Ugg.
  9. Rural anywhere preferably in the mountains but within an hour's drive to Big C and Makro for the times of the month that you stock up on food supplies. Living the dream.
  10. I'll pass. Haven't had a flu shot for 17 years; haven't had the flu for 17 years. Go figure. ????
  11. The exact same thing can be said for alcohol. And yet? The divide between alcohol and cannabis is political and driven by profit. If a few connected and selected corporations were assigned a monopoly by the Thai government for the distribution of recreational cannabis - there wouldn't be any problem. The problem is its a free market and isn't controlled by corporate interests.
  12. Khun Anutin has my vote (too bad it doesn't count).
  13. Inflation is global. Interest rates will only head north in next few year. Perhaps rapidly when the EU financial system collapses. Domino effect. Then realize your money in the bank is only insured for ฿1M THB. Don't put your eggs in one basket.
  14. Then you can't see the worms and they are just extra protein. Now doubt wormy saba is endorsed by the WEF. "You'll eat bugs and be happy."
  15. Since legalization I've seem Thai men staggering down the road. Oh wait. No that's not pot - that's booze. The doctors are on a Reefer Madness campaign. I agree. If they want to target something that negatively impacts society, target booze.
  16. There is nothing stopping you from making an appointment with a pulmonary specialist. Here's a list of pulmonary specialist at Chiang Mai RAM. https://www.chiangmairam.com/searchdoctor1?major_id=166&doctor=
  17. The problem is that if you watch Thai TV, all of the news anchors wear masks, all the talk show hosts wear masks, everyone on TV wears masks except on the Thai soaps and movies - on the soaps and movies it's still 'old normal.' The most ridiculous are those wearing plastic face shields with a gap a bird could fly through. Yeah - that will stop those Covid viruses. My guess. Thais will be dutifully wearing their masks just like their beloved TV celebs for months and months to come, if not years.
  18. Don't worry. Just keep those masks on forever.
  19. Honestly. The Thai masses aren't staggering around in a cannibis induced stupor. The effect of this legislation is moderate. People who have smoked will smoke (or people like me who used to, simply have gotten older and prefer a good beer over a joint). People who don't smoke won't. The benefits outweigh the Bhumjaithai 'democratic' parties perception that Thailand will descend into Reefer Madness. It hasn't yet. They should concentrate on the Methamphetamine problem instead. Thailand is being flooded with low cost meth and little is being done. According to my wife, a pill of meth cost about 200 THB years ago but the price is about 10 THB per pill now. It's a major problem in villages where nihalistic Thai youth don't see any future other than a meth-infused existence. It's amazing how many people in our village only have been jail on meth charges. Yet? Bhumjaithai wants to go after cannabis that isn't a problem at all. It tell me that Bhumjaithai party members embrace Machiavellian control of the population. Not a good look for "democrats" who are suppose to embrace liberalism.
  20. Have mine growing in the back outside. Had them in the front but thought it prudent to move them until we find out the specifics of any new legislation. I'll take whatever I can get as I'm using the plant parts for medication as opposed to smoking. For whatever reason I just don't get the same feeling from smoking as I did 50 years ago. I got a rather late start on the growing. Will start much earlier next year.
  21. Source: https://www.sst.dk/en/English/Corona-eng/Vaccination-against-COVID-19 They no longer claim that they do what vaccines are suppose to do: Impart immunity. The Danish Health Authority clearly states, "The purpose of the vaccination programme is to prevent severe illness, hospitalisation and death," and they obviously consider people under 50 not to be at high risk of "severe illness, hospitalisation and death," so the shots are not even offered by the state.
