You didn't study very well. If I was your Buddhist professor, I'd say that you flunked your course in Buddhist Studies In Thailand. An "F" for you! Better luck in you next academic endeavors.

Etymological Breakdown Prefix: "A-" Origin: Greek Meaning: "Without" or "not" Function: Negates or indicates the absence of the root word it precedes. Using the same logic: Thailand depends on workers from Myanmar in order to perform a lot of the low-paid, menial work that even Thais aren't interested in doing, so therefore all Myanmar citizens who are in Thailand illegally should get a pass from Immigration and all illegal immigration from Myanmar should be ignored "for the public good" of Thailand. Right? But here's reality: If Myanmar citizen's want to work in Thailand, they apply for a visa, just like the rest of us. Likewise: if foreigners wish to work in the US, apply for a visa. I love you far-Left wing US-types who constantly promote illegal immigration into the US and vow to protect illegal migrants - all the while living in a country which has some of the most Machiavellian immigration laws in the world. OP - shouldn't you be allowed to live in Thailand without a visa for the same reason that you promote about illegals living in the US?

Why Zelensky Won’t Bargain Away Crimea — No Matter the Pressure
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Which is why it still no problem to change regional borders. Look as what was once Yugoslavia. Look at the Greater Israel Project. Israel will eventually encompass parts of Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Iraq plus Gaza and the West Bank in its entirety, and the entire West will cheer them on. So modifying the borders of Ukraine - again - shouldn't pose much of a problem from a Geo-Political perspective. -

Absolutely. Don't budge a millimeter on the issue. Stand by the European written "Terms Of Surrender" they have concocted for the Russia government to sign. Show Vladimir Vladimirovich who the real boss is! That's the spirit! Demand Russia's unconditional surrender and nothing less Zee! This is gonna be fun to watch! Sorta like the NATO designed thrust into Kursk which has Ivan hightailing it back to the Urals. Remember, Ivan is down to fighting with shovels and pitchforks and throwing rocks, and Russia is losing badly!!! Slava 🇺🇦 -
This is the funniest OP I've read in the last week or so.

What psychological factors make people overlook Trump's character flaws
connda replied to Lee65's topic in Political Soapbox
Someone should write a similar analytical breakdown like the OP's, but target the really psychopathic whack-jobs who the current iteration of the Democrat Party now promotes. I don't have it in me (in other words, I really don't care) because, honestly, most politicians are power-hungry (if not power-mad) narcissists who all tend to trend more toward Niccolò Machiavelli then say, Albert Schweitzer or Martin Luther King. Much of what the OP wrote is applicable to those in power right across the political spectrum. -

Op - did you actually write this? If so, very well written and cited. Or is this plagiarized from an undisclosed third-party. Former? Kudos. Latter? Shame, shame, shame. 💩 Fyi, I may not particular agree with it, but we don't often see well written analyses with citations by AN members, although I will give SpiderMike007 a nod as he also does often write well-written and thought provoking things which I may not agree with, but I do take the time to read. Anyway, just wondering. Former? Or Latter? -
Breaking :Act Blue to be investigated for alleged foreign funding .
connda replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
The entire system of election "donations" is rife with the ability to corrupt the political system. All Citizen's United vs FEC accomplished was to allow monied interests to run the entire political system. ActBlue is just a conduit for money from the Left (including Leftie foreign interest) to enter the system. "It's just small donors!" Yeah, of course it is. The Right has their own conduits. When a candidate can get a $100 million from one donor, or $1 Billion from a few, well - the system is broken in favor of wealth and power. -

I had "The Talk" with my pre-teen daughter. What you can take, what should be used with caution or judiciously, then the sh*t that you don't ever want to take even once (like crack and vaping crystal). Interesting tho' my kid really wasn't into drugs or alcohol. She was raised by her mom who had both drug and alcohol problems, and of course the courts at that time simply awarded custody to my ex because "mothers make the best parents." I got custody of my daughter when she was 11. The kid had seen a lot and I emancipated her at her request at 17 so she could give life a try on her own. She was a good kid. Her boyfriend killed her in a car accident the week she was to graduate from High School. Speed kills - ironically. Only child...you never get over that. -

And for the sake of the ignorant expat-types who live in farang gated communities and actually don't rub shoulders with the commoner Thais, the problem is methamphetimines - yaba. It's extremely cheap, very available, and wayyyyy too many kids in the villages use it. And the connection between those who manufacture it, traffic it, sell it at the local level and those in positions of power to stop it, well, they've been walking hand-in-hand for a very long time. Big money in the yaba trade. There are a lot of casual users? Most "users" simple take pills and they are sort of limited by money, to some extent. The sh*t is really cheap now. Addicts? Some but its probably in direct proportion to each individuals ability to get their hands on enough money to afford vapable quantities of crystal meth. Tweekers - meth addicts - bad news baby. I was around that scene back in the 60s and 70s but it was never my cup of tea. I'm glad I never had a physical attraction to it. I was more of a kegger and pot type of guy back in those daze with a few analogues of this and that throw in for fun. Once out of university I bagged that scene for good and moved on to being a working family man. That's a whole other story which ended in me dumping my tweeker ex-wife and moving on. -

But for those who have never used cannabis and who are on the Cannabis Temperance Union bandwagon, the trope that weed is "highly addictive" never dies. It doesn't need proof, it just needs to be repeated over and over and over again. Fyi - I used pot to help break a nicotine addiction in my 20s. It's funny how many of the "Weed Kills" types are cigarette puffing nicotine addicts. -

London Marathon Upholds Trans Inclusivity Despite Supreme Court Ruling

I can accurately say that virtually no one on this forum knows what Fascism is. They only construct and fabricate a definition built around the term in order to support their personal world view. Fascism was succinctly elaborated by Giovanni Gentile and Benito Mussolini. I even provide Mussolini's thesis on Fascism so members could educate themselves. Instead? They continue to spews their own twisted fabrications of what the term Fascism means - virtually all of it wrong. Here in this forum, and for that matter, in most situations with most people nowadays, the term "Fascism" and "Fascist" are pejoratives used to malign another individual or group. That's all it is. 98% of those using the term have never studied Fascism or the history of those who promoted the ideology. We really do live in a very dumbed-down world. I find it difficult to believe that most people here were able to graduate high school.

Transgender Inmate Sues Trump, Claims His Rhetoric Incited Prison Rapes
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
A transgender male inmate in Indiana has filed a lawsuit against President Donald Trump, alleging that his rhetoric incited a wave of sexual violence against her him while incarcerated. Autumn Cordellionè, who was born Jonathan C. Richardson and is serving a 55-year sentence for the 2001 killing of her his 11-month-old stepdaughter, claims that Trump's "transphobic and extremist" statements has found out that dressing as a girl in a men's prison have emboldened other prisoners and staff to target her him. There - fixed it! A better plan would be to request testosterone replacement therapy and then to pump iron with a passion - oh - and face the wall when you pick up the soap in the shower. -

If my car camera had unlimited memory, I could probably post a few hundred pictures of Thais, men and women, taking a leak on the side of the road. "local customs and laws." Yeah - give it a break. -
Anyone you don't like. Even if the person calling someone a "fascist" is themselves an actual fascist. In common parlance, it's a pejorative to demean another person. But that's not Fascism. Do you really want to actually understand "Fascism?" Read Mussolini's thesis on Fascism: https://sjsu.edu/faculty/wooda/2B-HUM/Readings/The-Doctrine-of-Fascism.pdf You can also study the writings of Giovanni Gentile.
