  1. this is a really comprehensive and sensible reply to a question that can't really be answered. I would merely add that the whole "angle" from which the article is written wrongly assumes that it is the Thai pooying who must do all the changing, while the male gazing on can simply tick boxes as she conforms to this or that demand. Recipe for failure when that is the starting point.
  2. Hahaha555 - that's what we used to call you lefties until recently. Difference is, you lot still are a bunch of snowflakes.....
  3. No, I'd say Sandy Cortez is full-blooded narcissist. Not a halfwit, but a prize nitwit.
  4. !!!!!!!!! So inviting a Nazi for dinner automatically makes you a Nazi????? Sublime logic. So, if Hitler invites Neville Chamberlain for dinner at the Chancellery in Berlin (as he did) that makes Hitler an appeaser and a lover of democracy? Time you took your afternoon nap....
  5. FOMO is what brings us all on these threads TO these threads. Alas. Stopping the habit is like quitting smoking.
  6. Fayed's name was in the papers recently. Hundreds of complaints from Harrod's staff over the years went un-investigated.
  7. surprised that no one on this thread has commented on the sheer cattiness of this squib of a story, entirely without source. Admittedly, you don't need a "source" for an exercise in sheer spitefulness!!
  8. What utter nonsense. It was the Trump administration which began the negotiations for the Abraham Accords, which had to be abandoned when terrorist Hamas attacked on October7.
  9. You mean, it comes out on a Plato???
  10. It's worth reading this CNN contribution to truth and harmony very carefully. Read it slowly and you will see that the word "pardon" is mentioned a million times, but it never is clearly defined as a pardon for a specific crime or misdemeanour. Many GOP reps who anticipated that the Dems would (as they indeed did) be using lawfare to wreak vengeance on Trump supporters went to the office of Mark Meadows seeking blanket pardons for anything that might come down the line. Note in particular this sentence: McEntee testified to the committee that Gaetz said he asked Meadows explicitly for a pardon, though it was not clear at the time what the pardon request was for. This long tissue of fake allegations and obfuscations ends with this sentence: None of the lawmakers ever received pardons from Trump. Fake news at its best.
  11. Old Joe, still a Christian at heart, believes his legacy is to be compared with Samson, who brought down the pillars of the Temple and killed both himself and all the Philistines. (Needless to say, the "Philistines" in the Biden version are either the Russians or the Maga Army - or both - plus all the Dem lefties of the last 4 years who betrayed him into losing to Goliath.)
  12. God, if that represents "authenticity", it speaks ill of the intellectual level of people who would watch tripe like this (judging from the trailer). But thanks FOR the trailer...always useful to be warned what to avoid in the way of insult to one's intelligence.
  13. Am I the only one who hated Season 1? Could find no redeeming feature in it. And the ending was anti-climactic and as depressing as all that went before. Sorry to be so negative.
  14. Give it a rest, old croc. You fail to see how your words are full of "self-aggrandizement". Is there anyone on this forum who would consider the reading of your limited vocabulary an act of "interpretation"!!!? Nevertheless, I would be minimally interested in reading any explanation you cared to offer about why you so completely lack a sense of humour. Something went awry in childhood perhaps?
  15. So, being a "socialist" (as you so often claim here) does not include accepting the results of a democratic plebiscite????
  16. Oh dear, you are inviting me to become the nit-picking Nazi that we all have within us (especially on this forum), but never one to resist a challenge, may I, with your permission, point out that if that was not the first time you misspelled "ludicrous", you must, logically, have misspelled it on at least 2 occasions, n'est-ce pas? As far as I am concerned, more than once comes under the rubric of "numerous." Sorry if it's confusing....
  17. Thing is, old Croc, if as you say you have misspelled "ludicrous" on numerous occasions, why the fk are you continuing to demonstrate this particular mental weakness? However, the misspelling of "ludicrous" as "ludicras" does at least present a moment of mirth, all too rare on this thread.
  18. Ludacris??? there are conspiracy theories about "ludacris"? is this some new vaccine against Luddite Christianity
  19. The article makes precisely that point (that the PM does not arrange royal funferalls). Sorry if you find it confusing....
  20. But NOT All's Well that Ends Well.....
  21. The main argument against giving Mauritius the big island of Diego Garcia is that they may turn around and sell it to the Chinese. It would be very useful to the Chinese to possess an island in the Indian Ocean so close to the African mainland. On that ground alone, Trump might want to hold on to it. On the other hand, Trump has ruled out any future employment for his former hawkish Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, so maybe Trump doesn't attach any strategic (or indeed real estate) value to the island....
  22. Trump doesn't give a rat's a$$ about the opinions of a jumped-up UK politician. In fact, Trump would enjoy shaking hands with the guy, since it would be far more humiliating than exchanging private diplomatic "words."
  23. The only caveat I have regarding Musk is the power he is being granted by Trump by virtue of his massive financial support. Electric cars, which Trump was until a few weeks ago totally against (bearing in mind the need to win Michigan), will now be fully supported in Bidenesque style.
  24. Talking about your parents' generation, are you?
