  1. There open today in Sukhothai. ????
  2. Use a Wave with a basket in front, place the 12 volts adaptable rice cooker in the basket and cook going along.
  3. Firstly sad how things are going. Things for me have got better over the years and as usual some have got worse. I see a bigger poor rich divide. I see lots of young people smoking whatever. As said a lot overweight and obesity looks on the rise in kids. Many cars/trucks/bikes/ scooters sold and reprocessed. Pollution everyone already knows about. Never understood 5 shoeshops or shops selling the same stuff in a line in a high street. When I was last a beaches in tourists areas they were discussing sea water wise. I guess all above happens where's there's no constructive education in place. There's many more things I guess but don't bother with it. That said the west and westerners living here can't complain. As for New Thailand OP that's progress and being in my twilight years I still selfishly use Thailand to my advantage and live a comfortable life.
  4. The question could be correctly answered by telephoning the OP's local govt hospital or private which ever he wants to use.
  5. Yeah don't understand peoples comments like that about Chinese car manufacturers they use to say the same about Japanese cars.
  6. Yes and no need 'L' plates or do a test. You can ride a 125cc after doing a CBT using your full UK DL.
  7. Got my 2 Thai licences car and motorcycle just producing a UK full DL our local DLT doesn't require IDP for issuing Thai DL's as all the details of what you are licensed for are in English. I heard some DLT's still insist on producing IDP with UK DL. Same with police in some places if you use your home DL while on hols.
  8. UK has different rules for different ages in vehicle driving licencing it's quite complex these days. In UK my son on his 16th birthday did the composory CBT test on the 50cc bike he was only allowed to ride. After 1 year could ride a 125 and was required to to take a a bike test within the 2 year period of riding a 125cc. After passing test he could have restricted 650 forget how long for. His first unrestricted the R6 then bought a full power Suzuki GSXR750. Went to 1000 R1 and bought a new R1 when they brought out the lastest model.
  9. Yes bikes like the Wave of today say derived from mopeds.
  10. Yes bikes like the Wave of today say derived from mopeds.
  11. Looks OK go for it if you like, these sort of motorbikes are are pretty straight forward and reliable and cheap to run and service. I use a 30 year old Wave 125 bike around the village and a 17 year old Airblade scooter. For bike trips my 900 blade.
  12. Wave are also known as non-ped 2 wheel motorbikes.
  13. From what I remember being able to ride a bike up to 125cc is associated with having a full UK DL for a car. If you want ride bigger cc bikes a test has to be taken.
  14. Not in UK and a pick up truck is not a car. ????
  15. MC22 is a nice 250. ????
  16. You can drive / ride in Thailand at 80 years old without a DL, good here ain't it. ????????????
  17. That's because they used secondhand Japanese engines from cars only 3 years old bought in from Japan.
  18. Being of able body and mind whatever anybody thinks an individual should be able to live their life the way they want.
  19. A well known car hire firm for example Hertz say OK but always worth a question though IMO insurance companies do like a dodge if they can find one. A 2 year Thai DL is probably not valid as is a 5year Thai DL.
  20. It would be advisable for a visiting UK citizen to check with the insurance company who is insuring the car you drive in UK that they except a 5 year Thai DL for driving in UK.
  21. And. Is my UK driving licence valid if I no longer live in the UK? The simple answer is: no, but there are options to ensure you are still able to drive in the UK and abroad. Driving licences must be issued by your country of residence. Therefore, if you don't reside permanently in the UK you cannot apply for or renew a UK DL.
  22. Better you do some reading or ring up the DVLA in Swansea.
  23. Your Thai address is on Thai DL in English.
  24. Let's try get through to you this way. If you are a Brit and didn't have a UK DL you can drive up to 1 year in UK with your 5 year Thai DL. Somewhere in the rules it states when in another country for more than a year you should use your home DL to obtain the DL of the country in which you are living in. Although in Thailand there's the the 90 day thing. Not having a DL in Thailand also isn't as serious not having one in UK.
  25. Saw him yesterday doc said no problem as long as you are fit enough.
