  3. Looks OK go for it if you like, these sort of motorbikes are are pretty straight forward and reliable and cheap to run and service. I use a 30 year old Wave 125 bike around the village and a 17 year old Airblade scooter. For bike trips my 900 blade.
  4. Wave are also known as non-ped 2 wheel motorbikes.
  5. From what I remember being able to ride a bike up to 125cc is associated with having a full UK DL for a car. If you want ride bigger cc bikes a test has to be taken.
  6. Not in UK and a pick up truck is not a car. ????
  7. You can drive / ride in Thailand at 80 years old without a DL, good here ain't it. ????????????
  8. That's because they used secondhand Japanese engines from cars only 3 years old bought in from Japan.
  9. Being of able body and mind whatever anybody thinks an individual should be able to live their life the way they want.
  10. A well known car hire firm for example Hertz say OK but always worth a question though IMO insurance companies do like a dodge if they can find one. A 2 year Thai DL is probably not valid as is a 5year Thai DL.
  11. It would be advisable for a visiting UK citizen to check with the insurance company who is insuring the car you drive in UK that they except a 5 year Thai DL for driving in UK.
  12. And. Is my UK driving licence valid if I no longer live in the UK? The simple answer is: no, but there are options to ensure you are still able to drive in the UK and abroad. Driving licences must be issued by your country of residence. Therefore, if you don't reside permanently in the UK you cannot apply for or renew a UK DL.
  13. Better you do some reading or ring up the DVLA in Swansea.
  14. Let's try get through to you this way. If you are a Brit and didn't have a UK DL you can drive up to 1 year in UK with your 5 year Thai DL. Somewhere in the rules it states when in another country for more than a year you should use your home DL to obtain the DL of the country in which you are living in. Although in Thailand there's the the 90 day thing. Not having a DL in Thailand also isn't as serious not having one in UK.
  15. Saw him yesterday doc said no problem as long as you are fit enough.
  16. Fair call it's just younger people telling me I'm crazy if I'm riding a motorbike at 85 is their opinion nothing more, as said many times know your limitations. I won't do 270kph like i do sometimes now. ????
  17. Boxing and martial arts fighting has nothing to do with riding a motorbike or driving a car/truck. What's wrong with you.
  18. Stupid agest thing to post age doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you love to do. You opinion is for plonkers IMHO enjoy your life whatever the risks.
  19. Yep my pub in Muang Kao 3 large bottles of Chang beers a pack of Lays Max crisps a large load of white bread, 4 babacued pork balls and 4 fish balls. 226 baht. Ride home no helmet luv it.
  20. Maybe you would think that. Again negative thoughts.
  21. Fair call but riding my bike is my plan, of course tiMe will tell but I don't like to think negative. Met a guy on a Bm boxer years ago in Germany he was 86. Follow him on the autobaan he was was spot on, you wouldn't say he was a bad rider. ????????
