Overloaded PIck-Ups are common here; they seem to think that they are constructed to take the loads normally loaded on a 5-Tonner. Does'nt help much when tyres are not inflated properly either.

While Thailand contunues to mark time other neighbouring Countries keep improving things for Visitors, especially safety and security. The thinking here (what thinking there is) only ever revolves around collecting money for the already over rich few and never spending any to improve the 'Experience' of Tourists. In other words it's just same old, same old. Chiang Mai is supposedly Thailand's Second City but drive around The Moat and sample the disgusting Road Surfaces, lack of decent Pavements for People to walk on safely, drivers intent on NOT STOPPING at Pedestrian Crossings etc and Local Police Force not in the least interested in Safety Matters for Tourists. Will things ever improve ? Not while the Country continues to be run by the old Archaic Dinosaurs running it now !

If they are out there and are so advanced then they would only want to observe us. Nothing we have can possibly be of any use to such advanced species.

Really; have you seen the state of the Pavements in Hua Hin for instance ? The condition of the Roads around the Moat in Chiang Mai ? Electrics just about everywhere ?

Been here nearly 20 years and virtually nothing has improved on the roads. Indeed; things have actually got a lot worse and it's not just about the innefectiveness of the Thai Cops, who after all, have the same mindset as all other Thai's and the Uniform doesn't change that. I have spoken to many Thai Drivers about this particular problem at Crossings and almost to a Man/Woman their 'Attitude' is predominently that they (drivers) are more 'Important' than Pedestrians and people who want to cross the road should wait until the road is clear ! Echo's of what my good Wife told me when we first met...''Biggest problem in Thailand is 'Attitude' ''

Just depends how much they are prepared to pay to continue to be A+++holes !

I've got an idea that will solve this problem once and for all.....Stop Drinking and Stop visiting Bars !!
