  1. Do people HATE Phuket? I don't think so, except for a few outliers. What people mainly dislike about Phutket is the transportation mafia. Having encountered that myself, it's quite understandable, but not reallya game-changer. We hear a lot of hate for Pattaya, however, from people who don't really know Pattaya. Bashing is a sport around here anyway. People who like Pattaya, most notably expats, just find it has a lower cost-of-living and a helluva lot more convenience. It's also quite a large, diverse area for varying lifestyles.
  2. Yup, typical of staff in gov't hsps. The docs' English is adequate, however. That's an information counter--for Thais, ha ha. But it doesn't matter, they don't know anything anyway. OK, a few elementary things. Thar ya go. Go to a gov't hsp long enough, and IF you're friendly, very polite, and a bit humble, not arrogant, difficult, impatient, and perversely stupid, the staff get to know you and kinda look after you. I've found Thai patients in the waiting rooms helpful, too. The more Thai you speak (correctly), even if just a little, goes far.
  3. Try the woman's forum. You're only going to get nonsense here.
  4. I can see why you're worried. Good luck to her.
  5. Not as much as you might think. Google Translate, with text-to-speech, has made a vast difference nowadays. Moreover, the hospitals, esp private hsps, can find a translator to help in critical instances. A lot of instructions are pretty basic and Thais will try to be patient. I've been treated well on every occasion I've been to a Thai hsp.
  6. Why is penis size so important to you? And have you measured the penis sizes of the toy collectors?
  7. It ain't going well so far. Latest radio interviews
  8. Like most of our Economists, you've confused spending with revenue generated.
  9. No. You have no way to defend that assertion; it's merely what you want to, or rather MUST, believe. It's a religion. Laughable in a few ways. But with that, I'll leave it to you ladies. From here we're going to have pages of leftist sneers, claims of intellectual superiority, spurious claims of "defending democracy," fervent religious assertions, and virtue-signaling from MSNBC.
  10. Yes. Note that you have no arguments that anything in the article is incorrect, so resort to the usual leftist sneer of superiority. Fortunately you have ladies of The View on your side.
  11. The Dims do, yes. As for the rest, their monthly bills, reflecting Bidenflation of nearly 20%, admitting 8 million illegal immigrants, the homelessness crisis, the destruction of once-great cities like San Francisco, the drag shows for kids, the disastrous Afghan withdrawal (Biden denied at the debate that anyone was killed), the new wars under Biden, the increased threats from China, Russia, and NK, the attempts to control the media. the coverups, the lawfare against Trump as political opponent, etc.--all are documented evidence that leads them to reason, correctly, that things were a lot better under Trump.
  12. Nonsense. You only read/watch fake news you have NO idea about: Here Are The 20 Biggest Whoppers Biden Told During His Debate With Trump
  13. I'm not giving you a hard time about JIB's assembling your computer (from the parts you'd ordered at JIB), but all your lying about every aspect of your imaginary "building," which continued right up to lying about the photo showing merely a case, not the completed computer. So here's my question: What do you get out of it? For trolls, it's all about the attention, and oh, goody, you got some. However, you may also be one of a few shills on the forum paid to generate "content;" if so then double goody.
  14. So after all that lying and nonsense about building your own PC, epiphany while holding the CPU in your hands, and collecting parts, blah blah, what shop finally built it for you? I knew you weren't competent to do it yourself. Whatta troll. Next time have them build something like this.
  15. A CASE alone doesn't come with a motherboard I/O backplate already installed, as each motherboard model's is different. My own case, for which I paid more in yesterday's baht, is now worth B15000 on Ebay. It's wonderful and I love it.
  16. "through 12 Jul 12:00am +07. " Great discounts.
  17. This has been discussed ad nauseam over the years. If a non-traffic cop wants to see ID, he’ll almost always first ask for a passport. Quick, easy, understandable. Since the law just calls for official ID to be carried, NOT a passport specifically, they’ll accept another form of ID UNLESS you’re under suspicion. Causes for “suspicion” can vary widely, but can be just “being a place where legally questionable activity has been occurring rather too often.” In that case, any old ID may not reveal your immigration status and may be dodgy anyway. Under suspicion means more probability of your overstay or being wanted for a crime elsewhere. Your real passport may therefore be demanded. 'Course, carrying no ID ensures it will be as well. So then if you don’t have your passport with you, you’ll need to produce it within 24 hours. Wisely, they’ll not trust you to do so on the honor system, but detain you until somebody brings it to you. But if heavens! no one can bring it to you, then the police, for a service charge, will escort you to its location. Note that at no point will you be under arrest or charged or penalized simply for not carrying your passport. That’s not an offense. Not being able to produce any passport at all is, however, is a very different matter, obviously. So most people, including me, rarely carry their original passsports and wouldn't, unless necessary, such as for air travel or a visit to my local friendly IO. I use my pink card for most ID requirements. But I have a Thai DL and phone photos as well. BTW, I stay away from dodgy places and people. I try not to act suspiciously, but in my case that's no great effort.
  18. I don't understand why the British Embassy isn't lodging a protest with Thai gov't! This has got to stop. Overpricing baked beans is an insult to the entire Commonwealth and an attempted degradation of a British cultural property. Further, it makes Brit tourists and residents feel unwelcome and constantly hungry, waddling around with their tongues hanging out. And it makes a Brit feel much more at home to see his compatriots with the usual dribble of baked beans down their checked collared shirts hanging over their bellies. But what we have here is nothing less than a threat their mental and physical health. You Brits need to start lobbying your Embassy. This just utterly outrageous! WE NEED CHEAP PROPER BAKED BEANS.
  19. Exactly! They need that exquisite British culinary engineering and expert Brit close supervision at every stage. THEN we'll see them proper baked beans just like in the UK!
  20. A Thai can't possibly create proper baked beans for the refined, delicate British palate and waistline. But some Brit living out in the weeds of Isaan could possibly teach his Thai wife to grow and prepare baked beans. Lucrative market.
  21. High-end portable music players thru good earphones/buds will blow away the sound you get outta your phone. They're smaller and lighter, so easily carried, esp useful at the gym (where I've seen people drop their phones); and they don't use your phone's battery, mitigating the need for a battery pack. You can spend serious coin on these players. Enjoyed listening to mine today during a long taxi ride. The long battery life's great for long airplane rides. https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-fiio-music-player.html You don't seem so digital after all. Guess the emphasis is more on the banana.
  22. Lighten up. But the Primal Laws have been stated over the years by ANF Posters here and there, and I did indeed merely consolidate them. So, too, the whinges and paranoia. Could be a much longer list and even more extreme. 🙂
  23. So, that's prebuilt. You were lying all along about collecting parts and building it yourself.
