  1. But you said a general test similar to what they do in the UK . . . it's more the other checks glaucoma etc. The other checks etc. are what an ophthalmologist does.
  2. Rutnin +1, Dr. Roy's the man. Pattaya Memorial, Phayathai Sriricha. I believe the after hours Special Clinic at Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial, Sriricha, can do it, the least expensive option I guess.
  3. JIB's great, often buy components there. Shop pre-builts can be good deals w/ quality components, but they may skimp when it comes to the case and the PSU. May need to upgrade.
  4. The government's making some investment in the area, not a bad thing, and something private groups wouldn't have done. Similarly, the Liverpool city council has lent support to Beatles festivals, weekend breaks and walking tours. So is that also pathetic, trying to horn in on the Beatles' popularity? NO-O-O, not when it's in the UK! A walking tour for fans, most of whom aren't familiar with the area, seems appropriate, helpful to this historic area's economy, and likely welcome. It's not THAT big of a deal, however. But as our old buzzards have finished pooping on Pattaya's Bali Hai cleanup effort, they've merely flocked over to enjoy pooping on the walking tour.
  5. "Go" bag reflects noob naivete. For decades, long before WW3 fears, our shrewdest members have known that the real problem is the Thais. All the xenophobia, mistreatment, changing visa rules, price gouging, scamming, no smiling, indifferent sales clerks, hostile banks, confiscatory taxes, and insulting haircuts that show they don't want us here. In general, it's just that incomprehensible lack of love towards the poor farang just for showing up and being their lovable fat selves in cargo shorts, looking for cheap beer and pussy. It's all about money!!! NAKED DISGUSTING GREED for which life among the benevolent populace in the UK never prepared us. So you never know what more nasty surprises THEY have in store for us! Be ready to RUN. ANOTHER pothole targeted at farangs? Thais! How much more??? What we're looking for here is the classic, shrewd, street-smart ANF Poster Three Primal Laws Of Survival In Thailand, distilled over many years from the sage advice of our most knowledgeable members. Here ya go: 1. Never invest in anything you aren't ready to lose; 2. Never own more than you can carry with you or leave behind; 3. Keep your suitcase packed at all times. There. All any foreigner needs. Now, enjoy! Quoting one or more of the Laws gives you ten (+10) instant points of ANF posting cred from the peanut gallery.
  6. No, quite like travelers who'd like to get through passport control as quickly as possible. Normal and understandable. New here, yes. But Thais managed to take to electronic payments via QR codes, and fast transfers, quickly, seem to upload their photos easily when registering for this or that, so they'll no doubt get used to the new system fairly easily. On the forum we hear posters complaining about all this newfangled stuff that doesn't work for them or is incomprehensible--for some reason.😉 That is, ironing out the bugs as I said. The stereotypical assumption about being seen has little to do with it, but rather the reality of avoiding unforeseen delays at foreign passport control, inconveniencing travelers, and needing emergency workarounds and troubleshooting. It's all boringly reasonable and understandable by anyone who's tried to implement a new system in the West.
  7. Good they're testing it out on Thais first and iron out the bugs using them. was the different and unique idea in this thread, in case you missed it. Nonetheless, we did get the usual xenophobic whinges about Thais going first and sneers that the new system wouldn't work.
  8. This has been ANF Poster Forum Gospel for about 2 decades now, repeated ad nauseam. You aren't owed anything. And how's your Thai by now? Emirates is ready anytime you are.
  9. No. 'Cause you don't know what an AIO is.
  10. Good they're testing it out on Thais first and iron out the bugs using them. Otherwise, farang would flood the forums with whinges and sneers. Predictions here are a baht a dozen. Wait and see.
  11. But this isn't a case of normal "losing it" but mental derangement. And as noted you haven't heard of any specific case like this, nor has the other bigot. People lose their sh*t and go crazy everywhere. It's very common in the USA, for example. And in this case, the transgender didn't engage in a mass shooting a la Nashville. Guess there are also degrees of craziness, and there appears to be less of it in Thailand. Just more of the bigotry and selective perception (noted in another thread) you're known for. Dismissed.
  12. Just the usual hot air begot from generalized ignorant bigotry. You haven't seen or even heard of any such scene as described above in any high end shop by any Thai. What we have here is merely a deranged individual of the sort to be found in most countries, in various forms. At least it didn't engage in mass shooting a la Nashville.
  13. Incoherently? And it is normal to sweep items off the display shelves?
  14. Laughable. After 3 weeks, you haven't a clue. Just another bigoted troll.
  15. And what would you know? You've probably been shredded and laughed at. Isn't there a toilet waiting for you to clean?
  16. Does a good job of debunking some of the nonsense that permeates the forum.👍 It's hard work, but somebody needs to do it.
  17. Maybe also clean the forum of all the old buzzards who've gathered as usual to see how many ways they can poop on the Bali Hai cleanup effort so that people will at least perceive it as ineffective. Amazing how necessary and satisfying they always find that pooping.
