British man quits England for Thailandโs tropical tranquility
BigStar replied to webfact's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Waiting for that. Anyone without a traditional Anglo-Saxon name, even with a French name descending from the Normans, is NOT a Bit. Particularly the criminals.- 281 replies

Is it time for Jack Smith to throw in the towel on prosecuting Trump?
BigStar replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Oh, the naivety. Grand juries in DC and NY packed with politically motivated "jurors." In 1985, Sol Wachtler, then the chief justice of New York's Supreme Court said, โAny good prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich.โ -
But neither allegation disqualifies Trump in the eyes of law. Making up violations, and illegally attempting to convict without trial, of inapplicable law, as a part of leftist lawfare to disenfranchise voters, hasn't worked either. Guess gon' have to suck it up, as Repubs have had to endure and have been forced to pay for Biden's mess. ๐

Dune 2, that is. I took your recommendation and am glad I did. Well worth seeing on the big screen owing to the spectacular visuals. Needed ear plugs towards the end. Otherwise, the movie's so-so, some good scenes amid the usual tropes, but it IS Dune. Adds significantly to previous attempts to film it.

We're always hearing pretensions to superior Authority on the forum to support unsubstantiated assertions. No, you don't get a pass for writing stupid posts, sorry. Just the other day you were falsely claiming that the minimum price of a coffee in Starbucks is 150-155 baht, based solely on what you usually order. Whoops. We'll continue to demand evidence and logical reason, unless we're just enjoying one of our favorite silly bashes.

I mostly use Firefox Developer with SRWare Iron as backup. I like Iron a lot.

Opera is also based on Chromium.

Duh. Contradicts what you said. It didn't blow over. Ullrich was probably richer than this Swiss, too, and very well connected. Threatened the police, offered bribes (some of which may have been taken, who knows), spouted a lot of hot air, and all the usual antics. Deported and blacklisted.
-
Yeah, we jumped the gun a bit. Greed, I guess.
-
Wolfgang Ulrich had money. Ullrich said he had invested more than one billion baht in Pattaya even though he had gone bankrupt. He said he was now building a โCondominium for Senior Citizensโ at a cost of 300 million baht. He said this project would provide jobs for many hundreds of Thai people. He said as this problem had come up, he would have to move his investments to another country. --http://www.pattayamail.com/268/news.htm#hd1 Of which he was relieved of a considerable portion. Jailed, deported, leaving his yacht behind.

Foreign Man Throws Glass At A Thai Woman In A Dog Cafe
BigStar replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
No, not simply because it's in English. Note that it's in Brit English. Most of the writers/editors and local English media owners are Brits. The mods are mostly Brits. And so are most of the posters. That's why. So while local media plays to the average low Brit tabloid reader, they also don't wish to offend that readership. Brits end up being a sort of majority protected class, enjoying leeway with their native bigotry and prurience, whinging, throwing out countless negative comparisons of Thailand to the paradise of the UK, and making countless excuses whenever one of our good lads has been, oh, a bit naughty or just grumpy, cutting some Thai lady with a thrown glass. Amusingly, names of the perps are checked carefully to determine whether the perp lacks a traditional Anglo-Saxon name. If so, even if it's a French-derived name from a family living in England since William I, then he's not really a Brit.๐ -
Exactly, Sherlock. It was all staged! Getting that Swiss idiot to kick her in the back, and his wife to spew vituperation--now that took real creative genius. I wonder why the Swiss hasn't confessed to being set up and save himself from possible deportation? Jussie Smollett's confederates did, in the Jussie Smollett MAGA hoax.

And I suggest not doing so. But you've no basis for your understanding other than speculation. What you fill in is probably ignored, but if it's actually checked against your previous submissions, then presumably it must match exactly. Besides your own typos and brain farts, the database itself could be corrupted. The less matching it does, the better. No, if they really wanted it, they'd just say so, as they're notorious for doing. That info isn't needed for verifying that you're staying at the same address. It's all in their computer anyway. They're only looking for an address affirmation, not whether your first name is still the same. Mine never has been as there's no reason it should be. They've never told me any reason whenever it was rejected, and I think normally they don't. I find your story a bit unlikely for this particular online form. So I guess that's about it. We'll agree to disagree. Other members can make up their own minds.

Of course you did, but Up 2 U is one of the core values of Pattaya culture. Pattaya provides.๐

Foreign Man Throws Glass At A Thai Woman In A Dog Cafe
BigStar replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Let's do try to denigrate her as much as possible, since we can't throw our own glasses. Feels so good; we need that. -
Not really. Filling in every single box increases your chances of making a typo or not typing it exactly as you did the last time. No red star really does mean not necessary. Don't overcomplicate. I never fill out those unnecessary fields and have always had prompt acceptance--until last week! Appears system is down.
