  1. As far as I can tell, it hasn't been sprung on anyone - yet. Based on all the reports I've seen so far, no date has been given for the introduction of these measures.
  2. That's not strictly true though, is it? Some viruses get less virulent, some don't, as mentioned in the article below. Debunking the idea viruses always evolve to become less virulent Even with Covid itself, we have seen this. The Delta variant was more transmissible and more deadly than the original "wild-type" strain. Delta variant 133% more deadly than original COVID strain Bird flu is another example. When it first started infecting humans it was relatively mild but evolved to become more deadly as time went by, as stated in the AP News article below. Viruses can evolve to be more deadly
  3. There's no way to know whether it will ever become reality. There's always a possibility that it will simply remain as a proposal.
  4. Not sure how anyone can do that if, as you strongly implied, the photograph is not of the animal in question.
  5. My answer is, "None of the above." Depending on the circumstances of the day, anywhere between 10 pm and 1 am.
  6. There are videos of the incident. The door did not fall off.
  7. Just to point out, not everyone agrees with you that she is mocking British royalty or its traditions in that clip. When I did a Google search, the first article I found actually starts out by saying: And then goes on to state: Meghan Markle curtsy remarks I would agree with the characterisation in the article. Has it occurred to you that maybe you're the one misinterpreting it?
  8. I think you need to check where those messages are actually from. I use Gmail extensively (I have 5 different Gmail accounts that I use for different purposes) and I've never been asked for my address. What you're describing sounds like it might be a phishing attempt.
  9. I'm not sure where (or if) you learned about the UK and its political system but if you think the UK doesn't have a constitution, then I'm afraid you've fallen for a common myth. As the document linked to below on the UK parliamentary website (www.parliament.uk) points out, although it is not codified into a single, written document, the UK does in fact, have a constitution: The UK Constitution I have a good friend here who used to be a lawyer in the UK before she retired and she is fond of pointing out when people bring up this canard, she actually spent most of her legal career working on UK constitutional law. Which as she says, would have been a little difficult to do if it didn't have one.
  10. CNN did not leave out anything. They posted verbatim, the entirety of Trump's remarks. While he prefaces it with his usual, totally debunked claims about election fraud, make no mistake about it - he is calling for the "termination" of the provisions of the US Constitution, all in the vain hope of him being reinstated as President. Which of course, is never, ever going to happen.
  11. You'd like to think so but it's not clear from what's been posted so far. "Antibiotics etc" could mean anything.
  12. However, as @tgwand @Sherylhave mentioned, the recommended treatment is not antibiotics alone. You don't say what other medicines the doctor prescribed together with the antibiotics (if any). Pretty much all the medical literature holds that the most effective treatment for H. pylori is a combination therapy with either 3 or 4 medicines taken together for a period of time. For instance, the paper below recommends a quadruple therapy consisting of bismuth, a PPI, and two different antibiotics. Best Helicobacter pylori Eradication Strategy in the Era of Antibiotic Resistance Other papers recommend a triple therapy with just a PPI and two antibiotics. Did your wife receive a triple or quadruple combination therapy?
  13. They might have been wrong - but they weren't. Arabs, Indians, Africans, Chinese and other non-Thai Asians are not referred to by Thais as farang and never were.
  14. It has always meant that. Over the years, probably because they heard it being used for a particular subset of foreigners, quite a few people seem to have come to the mistaken conclusion that it refers to all foreigners. It doesn't, and never has. Thai has always had a number of different words to designate foreigners from different parts of the world. So for instance, "farang" has never been used to refer to Indians, Chinese, or any other Asians, for that matter.
  15. There's no indication that all 30 of the officers discharged their weapons.
  16. Well, there is the afore-mentioned TrueID TV box, which as a True Internet subscriber you can get, either for a couple of thousand - or possibly for free, depending on which package you have. It is capable of 4K output and you may get that for some movies but I don't believe any of the True Sports channels are in 4K - just 1080p (HD).
  17. Obviously everybody's personal circumstances are different but for me it's much simpler and easier to get a re-entry permit at my local immigration office. It's located in a shopping mall that is three minutes drive from my house (or five minutes if I ride my bike). I normally visit this mall three or four times a week on average, so I pick a time when I was going to be in there anyway and pop into the immigration office while I'm there shopping for groceries or whatever. Last time I did this, the additional time it took me on top of my already ongoing shopping activities was probably less than five minutes.
  18. Do you also have a True Move H SIM card? If so, it seems you can get free coverage of World Cup games on True Sports 2 & 5 on your phone (and optionally, cast them to your TV) using the TrueID app with an option called True Unlock. It also gives you the option to watch all Premier League games for one team of your choosing, for free. Just look for the True Unlock icon on the TrueID app's main screen.
  19. Well, I didn't actually say it needs a box - I said you would normally get one with almost any True Internet package. I'm somewhat surprised that you didn't get one with your fiber optic package. But in any event, you don't absolutely need a box - you can install the TrueID app on a phone or tablet and stream the channels to your TV (or to any Chromecast-compatible device, at least).
  20. As far as I know, almost all True Internet packages apart from the most basic and cheapest ones, come with a TrueID TV box and a basic TV package. If that doesn't include their World Cup channels - and based on @owl sees all's posts it seems like it may not, then I believe you can get an add-on package for 399 Baht that would give you HD (but not UHD) quality.
  21. Pretty sure you can subscribe to the True Sports package(s) for periods of less than a year. You can even subscribe for a day or week, for instance. A single month's subscription may be 399 rather than the 299/month for a 12 month contract though.
  22. It wouldn't solve the problem of not being able to watch the games on an AIS Playbox but it would enable you to watch the games on free to air channels from other countries. For example, BBC and ITV in the UK.
  23. Yes, but that's the whole point - the email address isn't normally visible. You have to know how and where to click to be able to see it, and most people don't bother to do that. Here's what the email looked like originally.
  24. Going cashless isn't about using credit cards (or at least, not primarily). There are plenty of other ways to make cashless payments without using cards. For instance, if you set up PromptPay, all you have to do is give someone your phone number and they can pay you. Also, with most (if not all) banking apps, you have a "QR to receive" code available on your phone. If you display that code to someone else who has a banking app, they can make a payment to you. Then there are digital payment apps like True Money Wallet, Rabbit Line Pay, Alipay, Google Pay (which just became available in Thailand) etc.
