No.
First time I was scanned coming into to Hat Yai back in February, 4 fingers left, 4 fingers right, thumbs together. Since then arriving at Hat Yai and Suvarnabhumi they've just needed the one scan of 4 fingers. The system, at least with the airports, seems to be joined up.

As per my post.
If your prints are on the system, one hand of 4 fingers is sufficient now. (Saturday night).
It was smooth as thai silk
As per my post.
You're a seasoned traveller, I've stood behind someone fresh off the boat who had to have an 'assistant' come round and hold the correct hand on the scanner one after the other. I don't think he was the only one in the queue.
Note that about 50% of Thailand's tourists are return visitors, so half the queue are not on record.

I went through the other day, whilst the IO is checking your Passport you do your fingerprints, the machine is self explanatory.
I had finished doing my fingerprints before he gave me my Passport so it’s not the fingerprinting that causes the long. It’s the fact there are is enough manpower and desks albeit they have very busy and slack periods so it’s just a matter of managing the manpower in a better way.

Why the Thai system needs to fingerprint all 10 digits is beyond me. Malaysia & Singapore seem happy enough with a pair of index fingers, that requires a single scan. Thailand needs 3 scans; 4 fingers right, 4 fingers left, and thumbs together. Trying to explain that in broken English to people who probably only speak broken English is just asking for trouble.

I keep reading how tourist numbers are down and it's so
quiet in all the tourist destinations around Thailand.
Now the airport is overrun with long queues due to so many
arrivals, IO's will need to do overtime and increase their output
by 30%.
So which is it?
Lucky tourist numbers are down, otherwise the queues would be longer!
I think the issue is with the extra time taken to process fingerprints.

Hadn't realised they'd opened another restaurant near the university, I know the one in town is popular. I went there once years ago when I had a craving for Indian food, but was disappointed.
Most Indian dishes rely on a basic garam masala which is just a combination of spices, all of which you should be able to find in Kimyong - should be whole spice rather than powders. Usually all or most of the following, depending on which recipe you follow (plenty to choose from on the Internet).
- Coriander seeds
- Cumin seeds
- Green Cardamom pods
- Cloves
- Black pepper corns
- Cinnamon
- Fennel
- Nutmeg
- Dried red chilli
You just grind them all into a powder and then keep in an airtight container.

I've got a box of dead mice. Logitech, Genius, Microsoft, and a couple of no brand - they all fail eventually.

There's only one Indian restaurant in Hat Yai that I know of, that's Namaste on Nipathutit 1 (the colourful buildings street). It's southern Indian, Tamil cuisine, which I don't much enjoy.
As for Indian spices, if you can't find what you want in Kimyong, then a trip to Malaysia is probably the best option.

Did you read the OP?
Yes I did - problem is you're just not thinking far enough.
They should follow the money trail further - how did he come by this wealth?

What’s the deal with TM30?
I'd like some local feedback on this too. The wife AFAIK has never submitted a TM30 for me, I/we have always assumed as it was the same address as on the arrivals card there was no need. Clearly things have changed, would be good to understand how zealous HY immigration are with this.
I'm out of the country shortly, so will get the wife to register me on my return.

I don't think I've ever managed a full 90 days. I'm always off somewhere, I think 70 days is probably the longest I've been in Thailand at one stretch, and I don't do same day border runs. How does it work if you're not here more than 90 days?!
Good to know the switch to extension of stay is relatively easy, the wife's my landlord, hopefully that makes things easier still. But then TiT.
