I think you'll find the majority of XE’s payments are settled locally, so no charge is applied, just like Wise. Whilst XE doesn't charge a fee as Wise does, rather it takes a variable percentage cut from the exchange rate. So for me it is less transparent in its dealings than Wise.

I have no idea what's possible these days, I opened my HSBC Singapore account 20 years ago.

I send money from accounts in both Singapore and the UK. Currently XE isn't available for transfers from Singapore, whilst from the UK, as noted above, XE's rates are only better than Wise for amounts of GBP1,200 and below. For me Wise is just the best and easiest solution, though I do keep an eye on both XE and OFX. .

I transferred my Krungsri KMA app to the new phone without issue; though I'd only changed the phone, not the SIM and number.

You really do need to supply a lot more information than that if you expect anything other than a derisory response.

Thailand boosts protection of dolphins in Songkhla Lake
Stocky replied to webfact's topic in Southern Thailand News
Would help if they reduced the amount of plastic and general <deleted> that gets discharged into lake Songkhla. It depresses me to see the frequent floating garbage bags, 'Thai swans', heading down the klong behind the house. When the city arranges daily garbage collection it beggars belief that people still opt to toss the garbage bag in the klong. -

My January bill just arrived, and the FT (Fuel Tax) rate is 1.5492 per unit, an increase of approximately 66% from the previous rate of 0.9343. Overall my bill is up about 13% from last month; an average of 6.11 Bht/Kwh compared to 5.42 Bht/Kwh previously, we use on average around 750Kwh per month.

Internet banking change.
Stocky replied to owl sees all's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I'm only guessing. But you get the feeling stuff is moving more toward the app - the latest being the virtual debit card which you can only obtain via K-Plus. I doubt it's imminent, but it's likely on the cards eventually. -

Kasikorn still has K-Bank but it probably won't be long before that closes in favour of the K-Plus app. -

It works on other destinations, just don't get any results Bangkok to Prachuap, maybe there just aren't any seats available, it is Chinese new year. Try at the station, but you may be out of luck.

I was listening to a programme on BBC Radio 4 a couple of weeks ago about the effectiveness of nasal sprays sold as a defence against colds and flu. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001gl6g One of the products reviewed was Vicks First Defence, which acts by creating an acidic environment within the nasal cavity which viruses find it hard to survive in. The mechanics behind this Thai nasal spray seem similar, with the citrus extract (citric acid) creating the acidic environment. The expert opinion was there was evidence, albeit in very limited clinical trials, that this approach had some merit. .
