Powerbuy is also good, deliver, install and remove old one, can't remember if that was free or not. https://www.powerbuy.co.th/en/ Over the last 20 years we've had 3 front loaders; an LG that lasted 8 years, a Samsung that only survived 6, and for the last 6 years another LG which is still going strong.

I have a 5 year old Asus Vivomini VM45 that runs as a media box with my TV, been very happy with it. When the aging desktop finally gives up the ghost will likely replace with whatever Asus mini-PC is then current.

Feasibility Study Expedited for Government Spaceport Project

What are they going to import from space! -
Yes, the Hat Yai city centre is fairly compact and easy to walk around, station to Lee Garden, but Hat Yai does sprawl; Hat Yai Nai to the Municipal Park is 8km for example. That said there's plenty of songthaew that'll take you to most parts of the city for 10Bht, plenty of tuk-tuks, and we also have Maxim ride hailing app just started. But if you want to to venture further afield to the mountains or the beach you need a car.

Hat Yai's is a 'tourist like' city, just not with western tourists. Plenty of scooter and bike hire places around town, don't ask which as I have no idea, suggest homework with Google and reading reviews. Car hire likewise, from the international companies like Avis, Budget and Sixt etc, to local rent-a-wreck entities. You won't have any issues finding wheels in Hat Yai.

Might be an issue if you live in Bangkok, but in the provinces, nah.

How Many Pubs Have You Been Banned From and Why?

Nope never, but whilst I enjoy a drink I very seldom get drunk, luckily I know when to stop. -
Complaints procedure - immigration question
Stocky replied to matta's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is a fixed term deposit account, yes I can access the money at a branch but with the loss of interest for that term. I've never been asked to do that in order to show activity on the day of the extension, they are happy with the letter and statement made on the day of application. There is no movement on the account, just updates every 3 months at the end of the term, so I would fail as per the example cited. Songkhla doesn't have an issue with money on fixed term deposit. . -

Errrm, does it actually specify "instant access account", I keep my money for extension in a timed deposit account but haven't had any problems with immigration. -
Thailand Still Wants to Develop a Major Spaceport
Stocky replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There are quite a few countries that possess such a "geographical advantage" - Thailand's nearest point to the equator is Yala - not sure building a space port there would be quite so advantageous. I think he has perhaps too much space between the ears. -
None, haven't owned a car in 40 years. Lots of public transport, and if I need I car I hire one. No point living in a city and owning a car.

How precisely does one do that - "hello, you have my moral support", no doubt they're all eternally grateful and feel thoroughly morally supported!? -

I wouldn't leave a car in Robinson's car park overnight, the ones near the airport are you best bet as they have security.

I have no idea the name of the restaurant but it's on the corner of Phetkasem Soi 33 and Phetkasem Road in Hat Yai Nai (7.000768, 100.45356). It has always had the best roti canai in town.

Immigration house check
Stocky replied to James76's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had a visitation from immigration yesterday, twenty minutes notice. I had made my application for marriage extension two months ago, and we had a visit from immigration then during the consideration period, extension granted - so this was somewhat out of the blue. Unlike previous visits from the local immigration officers in Hat Yai, these two were from Sadao Immigration, they were very polite and apologetic for disturbing us, explanation was they were confirming I was living where I'd said I was, all part of the current crackdown, bad guys out, good guys in, or whatever. I got the impression they were justifying their existence rather than the validity of my visa status. All over in ten minutes, signed the document, posed for a selfie with the IO, thank you and goodbye. .
