  1. I went to this thread because I have been having tortillas craving lately. The pics here reminded me it is near to impossible to get what I call a real corn tortilla. I crave a stack of warm fresh corn tortilla  wrapped in a hot warm cloth, that when I take one out of the towel steam comes  off it.Pure corn no wheat. Have not seen these for years.

I remember a bakery near the Belmar  Hotel They had bags of dry kernels of corn . They dropped the corn in a hopper ground it made tortilla's from them and baked them all in the same open air room.Could watch them made from the street. Real tortillas not what these guys and it seems all others sell to us now.

    Brexit crash,

Do they mean the UK falling apart or the EU falling apart?

Can't see the EU agreeing to any deal, as it would mean the end of the EU, once the UK exits, more will go.

No point wasting time making trade deals with an organization that will be gone in 2-5 years.

I think the same why is th UK even concerned about trade deals with the EU. It will be history or toothless in the near future.

Why bother to deal with them just leave and watch them tear each other apart till it is done and many have left it.

  3. We are talking condensation on inside a windshield  right.

I just put on the AC and turn the  dial as far to the right so as that the Ac is on the windshield not feet or face.and the windshield is sucked clean in seconds. Just try different setting with the air flow of your AC  the placement on your cars dial may be different than mine. That's what I did..

When I do this the window is cleared in seconds.

  4. I see this as Thainess at its best.

They will simply put in a law that every one who enters Thailand must have travel insurance.and it is illegal to enter without it. This may even get written on their entry form given to the traveller at immigration

So if anything does happen and some one is uninsured they simply say the traveller was in the wrong sorry we told them . Not our problem. We cannot help.

A quick update about my running and general fitness training.

I think I've reached a maximum speed for my body.  To put it more bluntly, my little legs are too short to sustain a higher pace than 13 kph!  I'm very happy that I've achieved this pace and now I've backed off from that maximum pace.  Now I jog for about 30 minutes on a treadmill hill course, starting at 9.5 kph and gradually increasing the pace up to 12.5 kph.  The incline varies from 3 to 7% during that course.

I can sustain that jogging programme and I'm enjoying it.

So now since my jogging and cardio work is all in hand, I'm now concentrating on building up the muscle in my upper body. I have low testosterone (genetic family trait for males in my family). That issue, coupled with my age, means that my arm and chest muscles are puny!

4 weeks ago my gym trainer designed a weights routine to increase my upper body muscle.  This was carefully designed because I have a left shoulder injury (I fell off a ladder onto concrete some years ago).  So I cannot push up weights/bars with my arms widely apart - the risk of further injury is too great).

I follow a training routine which concentrates on different muscle areas each day, with rest and jogging days in-between.  I've increased my whey protein daily intake.

After 4 weeks, there is a very visible difference in my muscle mass (meaning that it was about 0% before and now it's about 5%!!)

Again, I'm very happy with what I'm achieving.  It isn't easy to make myself go to the gym each day after work to push weights, but the visible and positive results are a good incentive.  I'm very patient (losing weight and getting my jogging pace to 12.5 kph took about 2 years), and look forward to the weight training results over a similar length of time.

Really good to hear things are going so well. I am happy to hear you are working with  the incline also.. It sounds to me like you have it under control  and moving forward keep up the good work. Congratulations.

  6. It always go smooth for me. I have never spent more than a hour in immigration  to get my extension.Last time I went it was about 45 minutes and the reason it was so long the immigration officer and I sat and talked a while about our grandchildren..

People do need to know what paperwork to prepare. Especially those who have to travel some distance to the nearest imm office.

Some people do not have their monthly income deposited here but rather into a home country bank and then use ATM withdrawals. Others may do transfers but not monthly, only as needed, with the original income having gone into a home country bank. Etc etc. So preparing proof might entail a lot more than photocopy of Thai bank book for some. In fact, those using the ATM withdrawal approach might need to start saving all their ATM receipts....

I was one of the ATM guys for 10 years . I was to lazy to find another way to bring money. All I did for immigration was have a copy of my tax return notarized at my embassy  showing my income and all was fine not hard at all.

There do seem to be quite a few of these videos on Youtube:

I just thought of what I would do if I was french and that was my city. I would rent a bus and take as many refugees as I could to Macron's neighbourhood and drop them off with some food  so they could camp out where he could see with his morning coffee. I would do the same for May in England and Merkel in Germany.. Let the great leaders live beside the squators squalor and keep see how they would feel about refugee's.then.
