  1. “We treat all cases equally and with fairness and justices with no discrimination of who the victim is, a Laotian and a Thai. We are ready to listen to all recommendation should the embassy raises,” declared Pol Gen Charumporn Suramanee, advisor to the Royal Thai Police commissioner

Yes, you do. Unfortunately, you are not Chalerm, so no one will believe you!

The virus is not airborne and can only be transmitted by direct contact, senior doctors said at "How to Handle the Ebola Virus When It Reaches Thailand".

"The Ebola virus's transmission is similar to that of HIV/Aids, which transmits only when there is a contact between organs and blood," said Dr Yong Poovorawan of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Medicine.

He emphasised that it would be quite difficult for the disease to spread in Thailand.

First, I am glad that they had a meeting. That's a good thing. Naming the meeting "How to handle Ebola when it reaches Thailand" may be a bit alarming, but I can live with that.

Now, about the bit on transmission: "the virus transmits only when there is a contact between organs and blood", I'm by no means a medical expert like Dr. Yong Poovorawan, but I'm pretty sure that there is contact between organs and blood, at least with mine...

Lastly, about the difficulty to spread in Thailand - is it because of Thainess?

  3. Sharing the anti-Thaksin outlook is of utmost importance. Paramount. Instead of sharing an outlook for law and order, equal justice for all, due process, freedom of speech, individual and equal opportunity for all, they are most concerned with "selecting" those holding anti-Thaksin views.

...unless of course those sharing the anti-Thaksin outlook do possess all those virtues you outlined in your post above. If they do or don't, we don't know yet. However, we do know that pro-Thaksin inclined members of society share quite different 'virtues'...must be a virus, time to get a check-up?

Since the onus is on the procurer of such service, that procurer should put an adequate sum of money into an escrow account which would be paid out in case of abandonment, breach of contract, etc. Call it baby bail...

A voluntary commercial agreement between two parties, often three with an agency.

Why does it go without explanation that the procurer bears the onus? At most it seems your stance is purely morally driven. Reality is based on law and particulars of their agreement. Many designs are possible.

I would have thought that my opinion would mostly benefit the baby. If you have a better idea, please share...

  5. Imo this is not about legal/illegal, or moral/immoral, or straight/homosexual, but about an abandoned baby. Surrogacy will probably continue, so it needs to be made safer for the child. Since the onus is on the procurer of such service, that procurer should put an adequate sum of money into an escrow account which would be paid out in case of abandonment, breach of contract, etc. Call it baby bail...

former PM implied that he is eyeing a return to Thailand by giving away the books at his 65th birthday party over the weekend."The rumour that this book was distributed in my father's birthday is baseless,” Mr. Panthongtae wrote.

Not true. The birthday guests had to pay 299 baht per copy.

"Let me emphasize here that - although I have not seen the content inside the book - my family is not involved in the book, regardless of what the authors wrote about my family in a positive or negative way."

"We did not do it, I did not see it, we can't understand it, let me stress that I am negative about this in a positive way!" Thanks for clearing this up, Oak...

  7. Police investigators so far have failed to explain the absence of scheduled Railway Police on the "rape-murder-train". It is now fair to say that this piece of investigation has been swept under the rug.

Now, as to Thai Police restoring confidence in anything...well, they can't. The Thai public knows very well what the Thai Police is all about and the Thai Police giving itself a mandate to restore confidence is absurd.

On a side note, I do like how in this article it only says "Thai Police" and not "Royal Thai Police".

  8. ""But he said he took money from traders to pay the owners of the copyrighted goods," according to Burin, who added the general is now under both criminal and military investigation."

Hello this "Major-General Jenronnarong Detwan"  do I speak with Mr. Louis Vuitton? I have here 500 Baht for you!

and then Louis said: "no need good general, you can keep it!"

...and that will be his defense.
