International Schools here are the worst mockery of education. Yesterday visited Berkeley at Bang-Na to meet old friend: "wannabee asylum on steroids" Nope, it is the father, not other person. Free healthcare? Never needed. If one can obtain Thai Citizenship that would good for sure, but seriously don't sweat. Good, you paid money for membership, I just deposited it. Your choice of convenience.

Foreign Owned Restauraunts in Thailand
NativeBob replied to IsaanExpat's topic in SME Business in Thailand
Nothing to do with potatoes, dear @IsaanExpat. ^^^^ this is not "a story about Potato Salad". nope. I just brought an example of "how a simple meal might be difficult" to arrange here. About the same time thai family (and a company) got a visitors who brought them a very luxury gift : a pound of black caviar. So they pass it to a maid to "cook" and so she did it She [maid] fried caviar with chili, soy sauce and cashew nuts on the woke. And brought it to the main table to serve as ..... disgusting black goo ... Flashback another -
Foreign Owned Restauraunts in Thailand

25-27 years ago at the right turn to Naklua [Pattaya] was a german diner. Those time Pattaya belonged to germans. literally in that diner there was "eine kartoffelsalat mit mayo und brühe" ["potato salad with mayo and broth" yet he skipped broth] I still remember the taste. Just like in Berlin when The Wall fell sorry, so what was the secret of "uber-tasten"? The german dude Ludwig (I reckon) cooked it himself. He knew the taste since ever. Guess what happened when his GF hired a thai chef to do it? here is the recipe of that salad all ingredients are available here (mostly) and it is a "no-brainer". How was it possible to screw it? But khun Somnuk did that with flying colors! -

staff is the biggest headache in any industry in TH. about diner - impossible to find chef that has solid knowledge on farang cuisine. almost any "foreign food" joint tastes like <deleted> - even Italian. flipping burgers is a noble idea, it was a long time since I had real one chopped and grilled. cheese you can order at the French embassy, buns - DYI not a rocket science, greens - grow on your backyard. Pickles - marinate 'em yourself as well. Doable indeed! -
Frenchman arrested in Krabi for eight-year visa overstay
NativeBob replied to snoop1130's topic in Krabi News
Indeed! The rules of the land are something all visitors should to obey. But ... "them" have to enforce those, otherwise it is "don't smoke in the toilet" <<< nobody cares. One very nice Irish fellow who's making gazzilions of money by "helping" young thai ladies in their webcam business told me - "I'm too lazy to do those visa things". He pays local BiB some monthly fee and if question arises he simply pass the phone. I think if you don't have connections and spare money to spend - don't do long overstay, IDC is not as pleasant as it might seem. -
Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
NativeBob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Off-topic: Well, you are bringing money into Thailand to spend in Thailand. Good for Thailand, right? Why does the Thai govt. want to skim the money you are going to spend in Thailand? Me "may luchak" seriously. Thai companies are [suppose] paying their income and VAT taxes from the money they got from you, aren't they? Like you come to Dept. Store and there's fat guy at the doors asking you to pay "income to the Store" fee. Oy, maybe they don't get those taxes from thais at all? Like that noodle shop owner at China Town who owns nice house [rather castle] at Kamphen Phet but pays only 7.000/month ? -

that was trading funny coins like DOGE etc. but you can always buy USDT on Binance and cash it P2P in Thailand. I do, my friends do. 10 minutes. -
at Rama IX "CAT-guy" explained why "it is pricey" >>> be cause it contains "nukelar ayzotops". Yeah, my respect to that place dropped down to "papa-mama shop at China Town". Nukelar my ****! According to my observation - Samitivej is not much different from other "white collar" (middle class) hospitals incl. Bangkok Hospital (stay away), Rama 9 and others. Nice friendly place w/o "Welcome to super-duper palace". Also I like that hospital on Pahonyotin rd. near BigC and Saphan Kwai junction. No overpricing and no brand-name prescription.

Why such a small event attracted 6 pages of "shared opinions and words of wisdom"? We all aware that there're somewhere farangs with 5-digits overstays, that Immigration police doesn't do their job properly yet punishment for overstay is harsh. Yes they come from different places, not only from Bangladesh or UK, but France and Turkey too. Seriously - was it newsworthy? 6 PAGES, KARL! -

Cute! 30000K VOLT >>> 30 Mega Volts. Why didn't write 666 G VOLT? or 777 T VOLT would be even better) Any way you can get those in China Town in BKK. A lot! -

I used to have this BB-Gun from special shop with BB-equipment. gas container and sh*t load of those plastic bullets. They also can help with "small & innocent" modification that will increase speed of them. When you go hunting - the perfect device. And lots of fun. But somehow the rifle is quite big and looks suspicious, so I sold it to our kindergarten. -
Wish all the best and somehow resolve these fees. (One dude had CAT scan and paid 35K at Bum. ridiculous charges. And that was like 15 years back)
-
at least honest. how about you try to contact that doc away from Bum? They (most) have their own private practice. Why would you pay lab fees which are sickening high if they use the same machines as any "people hospital"? Some even outsources to city labs.

that "system" is not a Marvel's Jarvis. Just huge and very unstable database. Every day they pray it won't crush. -

Neighbors will go nuts "enjoying" non-stop hauling and whining from blind and severed dying dogs for weeks. Please have some mercy. PS: I don't like them either, but such a torture... -
US could stop it within weeks >>> just bring Peace Corps and establish the buffer zones. Seems that this war [mass slaughter, genocide] is more profitable ... Sick, right? Officers knows how to do it, it is not a "rocket science", Pentagon has a know-how about this "operation". Why wouldn't they do it almost a year ago?

Yes and No. there're a lot of rubbish "pepper sprays" available on the market. I tried few [don't ask why] and it only made them angrier. The Dazer >>> Ultrasonic device that should "put fear" in them. Lots of garbage. Yes it works but only on some idiot mongrels roaming around, but in "attack mode" - nope. I bought it on Ebay - only annoys them. Surprisingly electro-shocker's "buzzing and flickering" does the job, but again when they are in the "team work" - nah, not that efficient. So one very nice old lad from SAAS told me to stop "f****ing around and just DYI" After all we live in the bloody hot and cheap chili country. 10 thb a bag, good sprinkler (1m distance 200ml), add the cheapest vinegar and few drops of oil (to stick on the fur). You can have the most lethal device below 100thb. That will bring hell on their snouts and eyes. You'll never see them again. Proven. PS: This is very hardcore, you can make a cloud or "shoot" directly. Keep in mind you'll bring unbearable suffering on silly dumb mutts. PPS: SAAS veteran suggested to add bleach, but I consider this treatment as too extreme. Dog might go blind. -
Bumrungrad is the definition of what a modern hospital should not be. In every aspect. I guess it was a project for "upper-class" folks, who require certain luxury and extra comfort.
