  1. Their time would have better served protesting against the senseless wholesale killings that

going on there for 10 years now, where thousands of innocents people on both side of the

divides are paying a price too high to pay,, but students will be students and often waste

this powers on trivial stuff when they can actual save many lives by helping to end the carnage

    in the south....

Freedom may be "trivial" to you.

  2. Good for them. Nice to see some people with a bit of backbone. Not quite up to the level of students in Hong Kong, but there definitely seems to be more outward dissent in the last month or so.

You can't blame Thammasat students for being a little cautious. Events of 1976 when more than 100 of them were massacred under a previous junta is part of a Thammasat students DNA.

In the early nineties, I was staying at Sweetie's just off Kao Sarn and they were hanging them off democracy monument in tyres and setting light to them. You got to be pretty brave to protest against this Army

  3. Note how the red-shirts try their hardest to cause problems and undermine the government, whereas the government avoid naming them directly because it will start them shouting and foaming at the mouth again.

Reconcilliation - red-shirt style. They have no interest in it and never have. They want whatever they can get and don't care about anything else. End of story.

Apparently I should "never argue with an Idiot", so I wont.

  4. One wonders when the leaders of the current junta will get their sentences for allowing attacks on polling stations, the EC and so on in 2013-14?

Have you got evidence of that ?

Diffamation is a crime in Thailand !

The General promised to protect the elections, he didn't.

There were many sieges and attacks on people wanting to vote.

    No DEFAMATION in stating facts.

  5. Take a look at the Lenovo Thinkpad. They have one with a solid state hard drive that is very thin and light. The salesman says it boots 10 times as fast as the standard hard drive. The battery life is good also. In America it costs about the same as the MacBook Air.

I didn't buy one as I purchased another Lenovo model a few months ago.

Don't get a Thinkpad Edge with AMD processor, I've got one and its poop! Luckily still got my old Inspiron, awesome laptop just missing HDMI.

  6. You jump a green light by doing what many people do: start crossing the intersection when the count down timer (red to green) reaches 3 seconds.

So when the light is still on Red you mean?

Starting to cross the intersection 3 seconds to go before the light reaches green. That is how you jump a green light. Happens all the time.

    R.I.P.

  7. So now, that finally, there is this half decent man, with morals and scrupulous at he helm of

this deeply corrupted country, there are still people who's not happy until a good man will

be gone and a crook and plunderer will be seated again at the halls of corruptions and greed,

good honest man are not good for business, while the latter is....

    "half decent man"?

The man who oversaw the slaughter of many innocents in 2010, he's not even half human, nasty little fascist!

  8. Last year, for the first time in 21yrs, I didn't get my flu shot, and last year for the first time in 21yrs I didn't get sick. I am suffering from mercury withdrawals though LOL.

  9. The best repellent against this lying self-centered bastard would be to stop writing about him in the news. Who cares about what Thaksin says or what he thinks anyway? Butt kissing the junta now via cheap words will not get him anywhere... He should learn to let go, isn't that one of the Buddha teachings as well? coffee1.gif

"Who cares about what Thaksin says or what he thinks anyway?"

That'll be the majority of the Thai electorate.

  10. I think when it comes to forces apart from googling where as the SAS are always at number 1, I would have the forces in this order:

    1. SAS

    2. SBS

    3. Royal Marines

    4. Paratroopers

    5. US Navy feelers

Logics dictates that the seals are better, If the SAS was better why let the US rescue Brits. It was Team Six, not the SAS, which was chosen to try to res- cue British aid worker Linda Norgrove in Afghanistan in 2010.

Other logic also makes it clear why the seals would be better as the SAS.. of course the Brits would never admit it but there is just a far lager pool of able bodies to select from. (USA being a lot bigger). Why do you think big countries usually win the Olympics and small countries only rarely.. not because the big countries are that much better but because of the pool of able bodies to select from. Not to mention the USA has far more financial strength and technological aid.

But hey keep the flag waving going without logic or reason, and no I am not American, I am Dutch.. but they say I hate Americans here on the board because i dared to comment on their extradition laws. So here is a third party unbias who gives some logic please counter it with logic and not flag waving.

It's a well known fact the SAS are number 1. Even every American soldier served with them would admit that. If you Google also you will find they come up as number 1 in every search. The training involved to get into the SAS is horrendous and about a year ago three people died during training. The SAS Success rate is also a key factor them being the number 1 special forces in the world.

They ran away and abandoned their mission in Operation Mikado

As it never took place, how did they run away?

Yes, and exactly how did that go?

    The yanks killed her.

On 2 December Hague announced the results of the joint investigation, which concluded that Norgrove was accidentally killed by a grenade thrown by a U.S soldier.

  12. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

So the leaders of the democratic movement that has easily won every election held this century want to meet to make merit and remember their comrades who were slain by the military whilst protesting for freedom and democracy in 2010 and the junta - military government who overthrew this democracy want to stop this merit making ceremony using the draconian, anti freedom and anti democratic section 44 of their interim constitution? What a surprise.

That wins the all time TV award for total and absolute bullshit, and lack of truth.

......................."That wins the all time TV award for total and absolute bullshit, and lack of truth."...........................

despite some very stiff opposition ! clap2.gif

  13. 1000 baht tip when you have already been ripped off, no wonder some Thais think falang have more money than sense, and yes I know how much more it would cost in London, NY etc. It's the Tong Tarin hotel, and breakfast is only 100 baht most other places. Come to think of it it's only 59 baht at Foodland in bkk! My sil got the bus from Rama 2 to Surin yesterday for less than 350 baht.

Yep, there's one born every minute!

  14. Makes you realise the priorities of humanity -- they can develop the technology and pay the budget to go submarining in the seas of a moon on the other side of the solar system to search for microbes, but they can't find the means to locate a big underwater aircraft wreck on Earth. blink.png

Could be because the oceans are very very very very big, and the water is very very very very deep and tends to muffle (attenuate) transponder signals. smile.png

Yet no flotsam and jetsam, leads me to believe it's not in the water. As for the terrorist angle, what sort of terrorist doesn't brag about his dastardly deeds?
