Street parking woes: Costly reminder as Thai condo car ignites
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
^I'd be more worried about the type of psycho that would deliberately destroy your car by arson, tbh. Hope they checked no one was inside first. -
Yep. I bought one a few years ago from one of my Thai staff at work, after an attempted burglary at my home. I sold it back to him a few months later, though. I've never bought 30k's worth of fireworks that I haven't let off yet.

Psychic power healing innovator plans registration in Thailand
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's great that faith-healing, soothsaying, fortune-telling, etc are legitimate career options here. It should make Thailand a superpower, imo. -

Where do you buy underwear from in Thailand?
huangnon replied to Chris Daley's topic in General Topics
Yep. I usually wait for the annual sojourn to the UK, for cheap shopping, clothes, shoes, etc. Don't think I've ever bought undies or socks in Thailand in nearly 30 years.. All seem to be at least 50% polyester content here also.? -
Thai Government Plans to Establish Clean Drinking Tap Water

Well, that inspires confidence. -
Basically these muppets will do anything to introduce the digital money system. Supposed 'money' that can be turned on and off at will, limited use to the area you live to prevent you traveling, has an expiry date if you don't spend it, taxes you at source for spending on things your Govt frowns upon or your social-credit score, and basically uses your supposed assets to control every aspect of your life.

Ooh, look. We're just in time for the Festival of Litter! -
Came here 30 years ago to set up a franchise from a UK engineering co. with a licensee Thai partner. The business took off, and I'm still here (and in other parts of SE Asia). Didn't really choose Thailand, as much as it chose me, I suppose.

Germany grants 16 billion baht to Thailand for climate change projects
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Just put the phrase "climate change" at the front of any grant or funding request, and it's magically approved. Scientists wanting funding to study, erm, squirrels just re-name their project "squirrel foraging habits adapting to climate change", and they get their money, e.g. Someone is paying for all this.. -
Night Venue Operators Say 4 A.M. Closure Will Greatly Boost Revenue
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Greatly boost revenue" for whom? Probably only the BIB. -
Dogs? I had a Thai dog that was an amazing rat-catcher / killer. One quick nip behind the neck; gone. If you don't like dogs, use a slingshot w/ BB ammo. Can get good ones on Lazada, etc.

Thai-Ghanaian football player condemns racist Thai referee
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Never heard a Thai use the n-word.. There are of course, plenty of equivalent words in Thai usually referring to skin tone. Perhaps the referee is a fan of Samuel L. Jackson?
