Yes, definitely a great looking restaurant (and cocktail bar on Beach Rd). Also stages large Thai music concerts every other month or so.

COVID-19 Severity Fades, But Virus Remains, says Dr. Yong
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You remind me of those Japanese soldiers still living in the Philippine jungles years after WWII had ended. The whole Covid (scam) seems to have become your raison d'etre. How sad. -
Broadband Services. Used them for a few years now. Great service and content. Hardly any buffering issues using a 3BB fiber connection. Sometimes need a VPN for live sports streams though. Excellent player app for movies and series also. Free trial at the site link: BroadbandServices

Monitor Lizards and Swiftlets Now Protected for Commercial Use
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yes, one of my work staff is from S. Thailand. His family have one of these farms for harvesting the nests. What is harvested from Monitor lizards, though?🤔 -
Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yep. A so-called "survey" by an invested company.. Stinks -
A video of this crash was on a Thai FB page yesterday. The driver was revving the modded truck, spewing out plumes of black smoke before accelerating away at high speed, and losing control... Thankfully only killing himself. Sort of tragic, but mitigated by the fact that morons are not an endangered species.

1 in 3 Children Now Short-Sighted after Covid Lockdowns Study Reveals
huangnon replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Doubt it. Arbitrary and foolish Covid responses did destroy small businesses, livelihoods, family life, physical and mental health and education for a vast number of people though. -
Brace for a downpour: 42 provinces in for a wet and wild ride
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Eastern Thailand usually gets a lot of rain at the end of September - October. I live in Rayong and it rains every night here. Local ponds and reservoirs almost full, compensating for the low rainfall we had last year. -
PM Paetongtarn Vows Policy Continuity, Tackles Digital Wallet Changes

She looks like one of those realistic robot sex dolls. Only less animated. -
The Inhumanity of Hamas and the Global Silence
huangnon replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
Considering that Hamas is 'controlled opposition' carrying out false-flag terrorism, there is always consent for Israel to continue the land-grabbing and slaughter. -
Thailand's Driver’s Licences Now Show Organ Donor Status

Just hope the local "body-snatcher" private ambulances don't get involved in the 'collection' operation. -
Urgent Calls for Stricter Controls on Dangerous Dogs after Fatal Attacks
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is a certain demographic of Pitbull ownership. These walking land-sharks seem to attract some people who would not normally bother with a normal family pet, but they want to look like a 'hard-man' by proxy. Adverts on Thai FB from breeders of these dogs show images of the dogs at their most aggressive, obviously appealing to manchildren with the emotional range of a 7 yo. Hilarity ensues. Ho hum. -
Interesting reading about Thailand and Thai people
huangnon replied to Confuscious's topic in General Topics
Yep, was an early eye-opener for me too, read it shortly after arriving here 30 years ago. What has changed in that time is the freedom of the press here. There used to be quite a healthy public and press regarding politics, corruption, etc in the 80's-90's. Since then it's been all draconian crackdowns, (probably started by Thaksin pulling advertising from any media outlets critical of his governance). Similarly surprised that this book is still on the shelves. -
Chinese Tourist Killed by Falling Tree While Ziplining in Chiang Mai
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
I've used this zipline ("Treetop Safari") before in CM. Construction and safety is as good as it could be, given the natural setting and construction methods available to build it. Looks unfortunately just like a freak accident, which is obviously no consolation to the injured and dead persons. Very sad. -
Mass Arrests Follow Violent Far-Right Demonstrations Across the UK
huangnon replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I bet Sir Keir is delighted that he now sees a green light for facial-recognition cameras and a digital ID system. The one his mentor and fellow WEF muppet Sir Tony Bliar is always clamoring for. -
Government to Crack Down on Low-Quality Chinese Imports
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's not like this Govt is putting money in their people's pockets to buy quality goods. Shopee and Lazada will look like Harrod's by the time Temu and the likes gain traction. -
Man Faints and Falls to His Death After Encounter with Ladyboy

I've been using Broadband Services for a couple of years now. Less than 3k THB / year. All the live sports, new and old series and movies content I could ever want. The app and player (additional / external players like VLC can also be added) is better than IPTV Smarters, and any buffering issues can be solved by using a VPN. App downloaded onto a firestick, android tv or box, and easy to navigate / use. Free sample in the link above.
