Thailand Advances in Government Digitalization
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thailand just paying lip-service to the Globalists they sold out to, imo. Actual implementation of anything here is another story. -
Condition for Using Digital Money Changed from Distance to Area
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yep, let's you know who is backing this Govt. Digital "money" that can only be spent near to your home; has an expiry date, and can only be used at mega-corporation outlets. Your "carbon credits" assessed as you spend, etc. It's basically using your supposed wealth and assets against you. -
Construction tycoon jailed for poaching leaves prison
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
His former company is in deep doo-doo financially, right now. Owing creditors a lot of money. -
Cheers, Mike. Just around the corner (Eastwards) from Mae Rim Phim, there is also the lovely Ao Kai bay, and a little grouping of bars and restaurants. Occasional surfing / skim boarding tournaments and music concerts bring in the younger (Thai) set on weekends. Anyway, not to derail the thread, some recommendations for the OP on Samet: Sai Kaew Beach Resort. Ao Prao Resort. Vongdeuan Resort. Samet Pavillion. All within the OP's price range, and I've had good experience staying at these places w/ family.

That would be Mae Rumphung beach, and the view is of the lovely IRPC facility. ???? Mae Rim Phim is a bit further along the coast, and rather pretty good.

Thinking of coming to Koh Chang next few weeks
huangnon replied to Kenny202's topic in Eastern Thailand
Yeah, always liked the Kacha resort. The bungalows on the beach are excellent for the price. The OP should note (as pointed out by other posters) that the island gets a tremendous amount of rainfall from now 'til December, and sometimes roads get closed due to mudslides, fallen trees, etc. -
Thailand’s digital wallet project: Green light to make cash splash
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seems like just a ruse to introduce digital currency to the Thai population. Similarly to the Chinese system, it is used to control people and limit movement, protest, etc.- 83 replies

Ensuring climate-resilient healthcare for all Thai citizens
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It doesn't. But obviously Thailand has signed some deal / trade agreement with the "United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) " who are pushing this b0ll0cks. -
Yes, there are some good local producers at relatively cheap prices. Forget about famous 'brands' and source local if possible.

Thai Top Cop Demands Justice from Court Over House Search Warrants
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Pretty funny to see the Keystone Cops different factions and shady business interests all fighting amongst themselves for power and position.. It would be even better to see the mickey mouse military doing the same, but they're all nicely provided for already, thank you very much. Courtesy of the tax-payer. -
Thailand Wins First Medal for Esports at Asian Games
huangnon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
So basically, nerdy "gaming" is now a sport.? The levels of fitness involved must be challenging. -
New public health minister walks back ‘recreational’ cannabis
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A lot of small businesses forced to close down during Covid restrictions popped up again as weed shops. It's not like the robber baron Junta "government" gave them any compensation, is it? -
As a foreigner, are you used to the smell of fish sauce?
huangnon replied to DudleySquat's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't mind the smell of fish sauce. Combined frying with basil it can launch a fit of sneezing though. The smell of pla ra on the other hand is horrendous to these nostrils. I've banned it in the house, forcing the missus to covertly sneak it and eat it in a spare room, like she's doing drugs or something. ???? -
Wage increase: Thai businesses wary of proposed 400 baht hike
huangnon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I'm sure this won't affect the status or income of the massive immigrant (legal or otherwise) workforce here. -

If you live anywhere near Pattaya, the Cafe Des Amis version is excellent.
