  1. ... snip ... I suggest have a look at this directory http://webnavigator.org

    Sawasdee Khrup, Khun ManillaLover,

Just wanted to let you know that the webnavigator.org web-site has page-load errors in Internet Explorer 8 (Windows Vista SP2), and in IE8's "compatibility" mode, which is equivalent to IE7, and is not usable. The "page load error message" is appended below.

Hi orang37, thanks for your feedback !

This problem is unknown to me and I will forward it to the 'owner'. I just manage a .coolstart subdomain, but working on an independent, improved version on my own domain, the one mentioned above.

    Cheers, Manilalover

  3. plan to build a system, :D lol they cannot build anything that works :) 'fried air' as usual.

how about the most simple but postponed plan to end plastic bag supply in pukeket shops ?

though the only thing that is seriously and all time updated in this bananarepublic are visa- and immigration rules (focus on foreigners most easy targets, but be blind for your own shitty system) ofcourse this dreamed tool for the wellknown we-hate-farang system might be high on their santaclaus wish list !

guess they are getting wet dreams now about 'what are we gonna do with all the money from thaksin' :D:D:D:D:D:D

  4. Hi, for hosting I suggest http://one.com rewarded as best AND cheapest, just the price of a can of beer per month.

Forget Thai webdesigners and Thai hosting, usually not very functional.

For more hosting options I suggest have a look at this directory http://webnavigator.org edited by myself, especially in the 3rd column section free Webhosting and Paid Webhosting you will fine every info you need on webhosting.

Spammy, scammy and creepy hosting providers (like Blue Voda with it's misleading promises) you won't find there. I tested every link on the page and they are the best choices on the web.

I have 5 websites hosted @ one.com and they are just great, far most user-friendly no hidden information.

When hiring a webdesigner be sure you keep the rights over the website, get login codes etc.

I design websites too, if you PM me I can send you a link to the website I made last week for a (very satisfied) customer abroad, including relevant details and information.

    Cheers ;-)

  5. In and around Chiangmai are a lot of woodstores, most of them are from Suksawat.

Buying wood for my new kitchen I wondered and asked where all the wood comes from... The girl answered 'almost all it's imported from Burma, Laos and Vietnam'

Oops... guess it's very, very 'dirty' wood then, by destroying old forests and making wrong generals very rich... what else ?

  6. Same here (east of Chiangmai) I bought CAT CMDA beginning December because a friend had good experiences, real download speed 3,1 GB, sinds a month it's big crap however. Now they have rush hours from 5pm till late, sometimes I can't work at all (I make websites) Download speeds now from 3KB (...) to no more then 200KB (!!!) or so...

Also here suddenly terrible start-up trouble, not one website opened properly, only solution was a (daily) system restore... But after I decreased the huge list of start-up programs to just the security software (all you need to start automatic) this problem was solved, system starts up normal now.

All the startups were a serious problem for CAT CMDA.

The people at CAT airport plaza told me about an upcoming network expansion, but had no more details.

I suggest HOWEVER that use of CAT CMDA will become EXCLUSIVE PRIVILEGE for foreigners.

  7. Sadly, the 'official version' is hardly going to answer the questions that will pose the thorniest problems for youngsters, because they will touch on social problems that I doubt the government is going to be willing to address. It's easier to demonise sex.

But seen your nickname you've got a job to do ! :)

  8. Heaps of people who are old and retire here, then die. Not to mention those who are unhealthy, drink too much and basically burn the candle on both ends so to speak.

I don't think the OP wants to compile a list of foreigners that died of natural causes or a drink overdose.

Right, only foreigners who died of unnatural cause such as murder, suïcide, traffic accident, or survived after being molested or who survided a heavy accident.

Nobody comes to Thailand to get killed, some live here and some just on a holiday, one by one it are shocking stories. Some have been too careless, others are poor victims.

After one breaking news headline most cases disappear in time, but family and close friends do not forget, often also stay with questions.

All I want is to create a simple listing with as much as recent cases as possible, with dates and all background information know and publish it.

To save them from oblivion, and also get an idea about the yearly numbers.

5 ... http://talkaboutsex.thaihealth.or.th/knowledge

    Google translator

Paul comes to learning about sex in young children. Parents often fear that is not appropriate. Children too, or wait for better growth than before. My good man, but you all know that mothers now know UNESCO recommended that he should learn from each age 5.

Reason for edit - link added

I know Goog translate, it's 'soso' hehe.. interesting... can you have that text verified ? :)

Guess If we can get that whole website translated we'll have great laugh !

BREAKING NEWS 'Thai Sextalk Website Tackled By ThaiVisa Members'

  10. So if i read correctly this creates jobs for 2 different government departments.

    1. the ministry of education

and 2nd the ministry that goes over copyright infringement.

But of course copyright infringement is allowed in own ranks. But don't you dare to do it to a Thai organization.

I don't say this ARE 'borrowed' copyrighted photo's, but it's defenitely not photo's they paid for, seen the terrible quality, and even there are free photostocks for non profit-use, they do not offer such poor crap. So guess they :) really have been cut from magazines and scanned, uploaded, or just Googled and misused by converting them the wrong way a 100 times.

Or, as Frank Sinatra once sung.... 'I do it my way' :D

    hahaxm.png

  11. If they would be clever they would not use a totally insane domainname like 'talkaboutsex.thaihealth.or.th' but just 'sextalkthai.com', if they really wanna reach the people.

Except form the very poor photo quality (really looks like they -not bothered by copyrights- cut them from magazines/scanned them, hihihahahurrrp). At first sight (only) this website itself looks better then the avarage Thai site.

Very suprising they use pictures of foreign ladies with stomachache... why ? I thought foreigners where banned in Thai advertisement ?, and it's Thai ladies who always complain about stomachache (because they put 4 spoons of sugar and 6 spoons of chily in their choo-rot poisoned soup... hehe)

If the goal is just to educate people about sex this website is a lost chance... way too many text, (relevant information 'discretely' hidden between an overdose of blablabla) too many links etc. etc. will not have any effect for sure. And that's how it goes on and on... they just don't get it.

    009_0.jpg

But after all a happy end because the Thai lady marries... a farang ! :)

    seyuhrth.jpg

    Ofcourse..... we win :D

  12. Guess we were the lucky ones, while we were staying in Koh Samui my wife lost a gold necklace with a huge red ruby surrounded by diamonds amulet worth more then five thousand dollars. My wife noticed it missing when we got back to the States. I sent an e-mail to the resort where we stayed and informed them of my wifes loss expecting the worst, because as far as my wife and I know she could have lost it anywhere. To our surprise a few days later the manager of the resort returned my e-mail and said that the cleaning lady found the necklace in the back of the headboard. A week later we received the necklace, and the cool thing was they even paid for the shipping cost. The next year we went back to the hotel and immediately asked for the maid and handed her two thousand baht as appreciation, we were also going to give the manager a tip but he no longer worked at the resort.

    So,

a: you were so careless to take such thing on a holiday

b: so careless to loose it the room

c: you rewarded her with 2.000 for something worth 170.000 ?

8.000 would have been nicer :-)

(in my country the finder even could sue you because she has the right to receive 20%)

This lesson was too cheap for you buddy, hope you loose it again, hahaha lol

  13. Suthep Road left side, pass the Suandok temple garden for another 20 metres, opposite the Neurological Hospital.

Double restaurant, one is kind of green inside.

Very good are: 'macaroni kai' Macaroni Chicken, 'kao pad sapalot' Fried Rice/Pineapple/Chicken (rice indain style) and Tom Yam Kai !!!!!

    30 or 35 bht each.

The daytime chicken cart opposite AIA Languages Institute, Sunday market street has good pieces of fried chicken breast for 5 bht.

Thai Airways office has a DELICIOUS Puff 'n Pie bakery inside !!!!!!

  14. nokia-1200-p_179806vb.png

I am happy owner of a 'The Real Thing' Nokia 1200 (and I'm not gonna change it for such fragile fashioncrap) OK there's a crack in the screen but I'm not gonna replace it.

This thing has never let me down,,, even seem to attract girls for some reason :)

  15. If you see squares or question marks instead of the symbol you need to make sure you have the language pack installed necessary to show the symbols.

    Installing Windows XP Language Packs:

(depending on the version of XP you have, you may need to insert your WINDOWS XP SETUP CD) then go to Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> Windows Components scroll down in the list and put a checkmark next to “language packs”. If you cant find that, then go here instead Control Panel >> Regional and Language Options >> Languages then made sure both boxes under Supplemental Language Support are checked. Click NEXT and then let it do its thing. You will probably then have to reboot.

How to Configure Regional and Language Support for User Accounts:

    Vista:

Windows Vista Ultimate language pack release information:

  16. Tailorshops they know where you can find the local shoemakers, there seem to be a few.

Few weeks ago I was talking about custommade shoes with the guy from C&D tailors at the nitebizar (100meter before Panthip Pl.)

  17. Why don't you invest in a USB internet connection device that way you will be independent of your in-house limited and restricted supply.

The cost of a SOLOMON USB modem at Tuckom in Pattaya is around 3000 baht and at 460.8kbps is not that different from the speed your getting.

This is the link for info

    http://www.solomon.co.th

    SOLOMON SEGM-520 MODEM

    Surfing the Internet without Boundaries

The one of a kind Solomon USB EDGE Modem has a built-in USB interface, just simply plug it into any notebook or desktop computer and you will be able to get connected with the internet through the GSM network. Real-time business transaction, send and receive emails, browsing Web database…etc., all in your hands. With the help of Solomon USB EDGE Modem, you can maintain your top mobility, easy access to the internet no matter where you are. It can be used on

a train, in a subway, or in a car just like you are using a physical phone line!

The Most Universal Interface – USB

Solomon USB EDGE Modem is the first of its kind to make use of the USB interface for

the computer to connect to the internet. It takes the DC power directly from the USB interface so there won't be any charging device required.

    Key Features

    - Application: Internet (High Speed Internet Access up to 460.8 kbps), SMS, MMS, E-mail, Fax

    - USB 2.0 interface (no battery required)

    - Plug & Play

    General Specifications

Frequency: Quad – Band GSM900/1800 MHz, GSM850/1900 MHz

    Networks: GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM1800, GSM1900

Operating Systems: Window 2000/XP Home/XP Pro

    Dimensions (L x W x H): 109.3mm x 42.7mm x 17.7mm

    Weight: 42g

    Objection !

EDGE GPRS has many limitations, all applications that requiere a stream (GPRS send information via 'packages') like VOIP calling, videostreams can't be used or not used properly.

I suggest go for the CDMA 3G usb stick from CAT TELECOM or HUTCH (depending where you live) and get 3GB inernet without a cable.

For the USB stick you ay around 6.000b, then you pay 700/month.

This USB stick can be used on every pc and at every location.

I moved to CAT CDMA for home use only (I dislike notebooks) and it's way better that the ever troublesome Maxnet/3T/3BB or whatever that is called now.
