  1. Careful, because somebody in CM really hate the Italian food (specially pizzas) :)

    Who, what, why ?

Pizza is also not my most favorite (also because of my dental situation) just once in a few months, with a lot of anchovy and olives. Usually I go for a pasta, gnocchi or a good minestrone soup, or just a salad... I'm getting trough the whole menu, want to try everything yummie yummie... :D

  2. Lots of complaints always about all thats wrong here. Almost the little pearls that actually make this a great country too disappear in a mental fog of desillusions and stress.

Doi Saket has such an unexpected little pearl, a real Italian in a very simple setting, but who actually serve 5-star cuisine for the price of a good coffee.

Few weeks ago I even tasted the best spaghetti bolognese ever in my life, amazing ! So if you are in for something different try it, it's worth the 20 min's drive from Chiangmai, great Thai food as well.

Service is excellent and on special days the Italian owner, his lovely Thai wife and the waiter might present you a mini concert or you can join a jamsession, all very musical people.

  3. Whats The Weirdest Thing Your Thai Wife Has Eaten ?

Cheese, delicious Dutch Extra Old Gouda cheese... she looked at me as if she was gonna die..... or something like that :)

Also liquorice was not a big success... but from the Dutch buttersirup waffles I only found the almost empty plastic bag somehow hidden on a shelf.

    :D

The next girlfriend a Lisu would commit a murder for Dutch cheese however !

  4. Why that stupid nets have to be so hight here, in my country they have golfranges as well but no nets at all.

When for a baseball field OK but this is just golf, if those guys play properly they don't need those silly nets at all. They are so ugly and visual very polluting, even more when getting old. They really have no brains here, can't think 'beyond money' and this will never be a civilized country for sure. Time to leave and let them r*t away togeher with their own kind of maipenraiers. Sad but true.

  5. You should make some tasteful horror photos !

(though here they are affraid of people taking photo's in shops and never allow, but fukkit for the same prize they would food-poison you with their crap)

Waiting for your pics, nice to send them to the headoffice in France, sell to newspapers etc. for big fun !

  6. Agree... Siam TV is a shit company don't tell me !

They sell nice import stuff but A: they know nothing about it and not able to give good advise B: the service is terrible, I don't go there anymore.

It's just the same kind of highly arrogant company as Nihom Panit who think they own the world, but in reality all staff are totally unskilled people with fake smiles.

  7. capture1159.png

Forget all the 1001 stuff - that's years out of date.

    His website still shows a pre-previous address ?? :)

It seems he does not runs a restaurant anymore, just the shop, following a collegue of him.

Ps, I'm only interested in the shop btw to buy a trainload of sausage and cheese.

  8. Excuse my Idiocy/Naiveity but why would Elephants Tusks, & lots of them, be going from Dubai to Laos ??

Perhaps in Laos no more elephants left !

Domesticated elephants poached for ivory, Sayaboury province Lao PDR
With less than 1000 wild and 560 domesticated elephants remaining in Laos, poaching is a very serious threat to the entire elephant population. The interrelationship between wild and domestic elephants is still very strong in Laos, with poaching directly affecting the survival of both populations.

  9. Loyalty to existing -even long time- customers has not been invented yet here, reflection of the 'anti-social' and 'self-centered' attitute and lack of intelligence here, because everybody knows that they loose customers easy this way, short time thinking !

In my country in Europe they call you when the year is over that you can come to the shop just to get a new phone, blackberry etc. -depending on your account- for free, when opening a mobile account you are overloaded with laptops and mountainbikes, but here after registering and paying soon as they got your money many they feel they don't need to be friendly anymore and turn away from you, bargirl mentality.

Living here for 10 years I've never had a drink for free in a pub, only in the foreign owned place.

  10. Thaiyota's indeed cannot be exprorted to Europe because on a qualitytest they fail on 3 out of 5 points.

Friends from Europe bought a new Vigo and got rid of the trouble car after a year, chassis, tracking etc. where of very inferior quality.

Why you think buying a new car without making a testdrive first is more or less 'normal' here ? Because Thais only look at the outside.

(wonder if that is the reason of the rediculous prices of second hands, a car you buy in Europe for 1,900 euro easy cost 12,000 euro here)
