You will find in Thailand that roads or highways that are numbered will normally have a second road in the area with the same number, these are bypass roads but their highway signs or maps do not state this so it can be confusing.

Its the 1001 Highway to Mae Jo and Prao. Doi Saket is on the 118. The 1001 comes off the supper highway just north of the 118 and supper highway inter section

With the word 'workers' here don't think of sweatshops, sexworkers or filthy factories. They are very happy here and making money for their new school year. We take care them very well, support where we can so no reason to worry, also my Philippine girlfriend is crazy with them ;-)

I have to say that i find the use of words like 'alien" and 'farang' to be very dehumanizing. (Not only in Thailand but the world over.)As if these groups are less than people.

I have no recent experience, but I remember 13 years ago I really hated the groud service of Thai Airways, bad service, typical dumb people and very arrogant, therefor I flew with them only once, then with China Airlines and the past years only with EVA air. Inland I fly only with Bangkok Air. Not much respect for everyting related with Thai Airways, Bangkok Air staff is much more friendly and up to date, modern fleet.

I recently bought a complete professional 8.000 baht hairdressing set for a girlfriend in Laos, including a so called 'hua hun' a head with hair made for learn to cut hair make up etc.

At the northern moat of Chiangmai is Chang Puak Gate, when on north side 'outside' the gate, walk 80 meters east along the moat, there is the shop, easy to recognise with hairdressing chairs and standing hairdryers in front. The head with wig cost around 500b, they are behind the counter on a shelf.

Why such hassle !!!

If you have a Laotian gf why not live in Laos which is much better then Thailand, and via the right person you can get a one year Lao business visa (yellow booklet, without ANY further requirements, 300-400USD) / yearly extension 150USD / eventual workpermit (blue booklet, without ANY further requirements, another 300USD) Travel in and out is free, no need no 'multiple entry stamp' scam etc.

Think twice before investing time and money in Tld.

With other words, they just keep getting away with admitting they are totally unable to implement environmental laws by serious punishment, educating the people is not an issue at all etc. so never ever something will change to the positive here.

In a small street behind the city hospital at Thanon Meechai. Bicycle and motorcycle rent in the street. Small restaurant. Massage and yoga in the soi. Ask a tuktuk driver, they know the place.
