  1. We know who has been calling the shots all along.

The reds, their leaders, PT, etc., keep clamoring about the elite and the poor servants. Have any of them looked into a mirror lately? They are all servants for a criminal elitist on the run. I'm still not convinced any of this protesting is really about democracy at all. As long as Thaksin is calling the shots, it's all about him and nothing more.

Yeah agree, and I guess the scary thing is that 'watching in the mirror' (confrontation) is what they will avoid for any price and thats something anchored in the society very, very strong. E.g. when you point someone on his mistake (that e.g. in traffic almost killed you) he gets angry at YOU. Confrontation is a very light inflammable thing here, they never learned how to handle some normal situations and cover everything with 'smiles' and 'maipenrais'. While we westerners learned to transform confrontation into positive adjustments and improvements, so not here. Still not understand what happened with the great Thailand I choosed to live in 12 years ago, it's gone. And fear for the future of this country, seriously. Preparing to leave this year.

  2. Prime Minister joins members of National Human Rights Commission on Thursday at the 11th Infantry Regiment to discuss proposal to hold peace talks between the government and red shirt protesters to end the political impasse

<deleted> a political impasse ??? Seems I missed an important part of the news... They mean they recognise a less-then-1%-of-the-population who are troublemakers as part of the political establishment ?

Peacetalks with a criminal on the run ? :)

I knew Lao Kao can make people crazy and there are doubts about Beer Chang and Sangsom, it's known that carbon dioxide causes serious brain poisoning, but it's getting worse !

  3. Nit Noi in Doi Saket. :)

:D Nidnoi ?? For the first time I saw my garden flooding !

You mean hurricane nidnoi, my two maids are still busy in te garden collecting the leaves and broken branches, neighbour helped with clearing 3 collapsed bananatrees, giant bamboo damaged etc.

Lucily the tall coconut tree survived it and did not fall on the house !

  4. you can go 6000 km and then let it cool down (during oil change)

must have a big separate fuel tank :)

When you are crossing the Isan sahara yes.

Eventually a 0,5 liter coke bottle with spare fuel under the seat will be more then enough, but you won't use it if you not forget to refuel on time.

Better carry a set of spare inner tires of good quality, the 20b ones they sell at small shops can be of very poor qualty, they often don't know how to fix a hole properly etc.

I suggest also buy a set of vibration absorbers for the handles, they cost 20b. A Wave engine can cause high frequent vibrations that become very annoying on long trips (when you stop your hands have kind of electrostatic vibrations for 20 minutes) They also make the handles thicker = also more comfortable and the rubber grips als can cause bladders on the hands.

  5. You won't be banned because you don't critisize them but put feathers in their ass, I bet they will even pin this message on top, hehe :)

Agree, I only got breaking new alerts far after I read them on TV...

TWEET: Time for another beer Leo but gotta pee first.

  6. I was thinking over 3 days and it is a 110. Im not worried about the comfort thing . Would a wave 110 hold up , i dont want to destroy it.

For the bike no problem for sure, just take your time. Best is to drive not over 80km/h this saves a lot of fuel and not feel tired after a long trip.

First long trip I did max speed 110km/h all the way, this is not relaxed, from then on just 80km/h sabai sabai :D

I dream of making a trip like his to throug Isan, just don't take the time for it.

As locals can see at the plate where you come from you will meet impressed people all the way :)

But perhaps the new bike does not have a plate yet.

  7. When it's a 125cc Wave-i great fun guaranteed ! I learned this is a very good long distance bike, did many times Chiangmai-Maesai-Chiangmai in 1 day, 500km or so no problem. With a 110cc Wave I would never do it, this is a typical girl bike with poor acceleration and not much power, very annoying for long trips.

I suggest if you bought it new immediately change the rear tire. They usually sell new motorbikes with two front tires in stead of with much thicker rear tire. This may cause frequent leakage and a thick rear tire drives much better.

  8. Exactly! Couldn't have said it better. I've been here for 20plus years and seen more than my share of people going mad with drug use. Most of them have been long-term weed smokers, they lose it good and proper in the end.

The class A lads normally run out of money or get fed up at getting ripped off and go home or turn to Yaa baa as a cheap alternative , then go mad.

Either way they go back to their home countries well and truly broke and mad, sometimes they avoid the nick here, sometimes not.

And why do they always leaves dogs for some-one else to deal with?

    Rant over

And what has yabaa to do with marihuana ????

Guess you better stick to topics you know more about because this makes no sense. :)

  9. The fact is that possession of ganja or small quantities of yaba does not automically equal deportation and immigration blacklist. Depending on how much "bail" you can pay, you can have your case expeditiously closed in about 7-10 days with no record outside of the local district you were prosecuted in. Thank you, come again!

If you doubt this, I suggest you take a peek at the Samui district court house which has clearly been subsidized by Full Moon Party busts.

This is so I've heard anyway :)

Why they not use the guy to catch the dealer, get the dealer behind bars, do some waterboarding to make him tell where he get the stuff from etc. This innocent guy could have helped them to roll up a whole gang (but guess that's not what they want either)

  10. Ridiculous !!! They'd better clean up their own ranks the BIB.

And indeed who is the old farang looking more like a meth head then the dangerous criminal who got done for 0.9 grams of weed. talking about cleaning up the country :) .

This country never ceases to surpise me.

    Agree.

    TOT (tired of Thailand) smiley_smoking.gif

  11. If police in Holland find 0.9 grams of herb in your pocket they will laugh and ask you if you need some more then at least then you can roll a decent joint...

Nothing wrong with pot especially the Thai one :) but This Is Thailand and Herbal Beaver is not very clever to walk around with a even a useless crumb of the holy herb in his pocket.

However Herbal Beaver should be send home with a warning: 'we truly apologize for the caused inconvenience, but this is Thailand and, like America and many other countries we believe that councious people are a possible threat to the government, so we kindly request you to leave the country, thank you for your understanding'

Taking this as a crime is rediculous ofcourse and boss in own brain !

  12. Sanyo always was a B-brand.

Actually all Japanese brands produced here are very poor quality just 'value for money' for the poor people, but actually not that cheap if you see whay you get. The more impressing stickers on it the worse :)

If you pull the door to open the fridge you get the whole fridge, a 80$ wasmachines that have no hot water, waterboilers that need 30 minutes to boil half a liter of water etc. I have a 5000b Mitsubishi fridge, it's ok for me just a fridge.

I agree big annoyances here about customer service, often a big shame.

    They not understand their job.

  13. I Like Thai Music , Do You ? And Who Do You Like ?

    No !

I dislike Thai music a lot it really makes me nervous. Never allowed girlfriends to play Thai music in my home and if they can't without they better go home.

Same for Thai TV highly annoying and not allowed in my house !

Actually I really dislike all Asian music, so 'over-harmonized' and sounds sooo artificial but has got no soul nothing. Filippino singers are much better.

Thai's can't sing at all, poor voices and no disipline they literally makes dogs yelling, total lack of rhythm and soul and usually cheap copies of commercial American crap.

I've got 3 Thai cd's that are not that bad, older Isan and Kalasin style songs at least that has got some soul.

In Asia only India and Mongolia are OK for me and I like Azerbaijan and Greenland, and 70% of African, South American and latin.
