Monomax
I changed from HD Prime a year ago and just renewed with the provider for another year. My main viewing is Footy, mainly PL but I try to watch some ECL on catchup the next day. I will often watch 2 or 3 games every saturday and sunday without any drama. I also watch the main UK cannels, BBC, ITV etc which all have 2 or 3 days catchup. 1500 Baht for 6 months, 2800 for a year. Also offers a free trial. I'm not connected in any way to this guy who is an Aussie living in Koh Lanta but his service is as good as any other that I have trialled and better than most. I wont put his details on here so PM me if you want his contact.

Airport to town - where to catch the pickup bus?
Not used it for a while but the staff used to come down the bus asking who wanted bus to clock tower or their hotel. You get off the bus at the bus station and they have a couple of minivans to transport you to your chosen destination.

Hotel to watch fireworks NYE

I have to be in Bkk tomorrow, 30th so thought I would stay for an extra night to see the firework display in BKK, however, I'm not familiar with bkk so is there an atrea where I can book a hotel with a balcony where I can comfortably watch the ddisplay at midnoight? All suggestions appreciated.

Grey Market Excise tax
I've just discovered on trying to sell my car that it is a grey market car, not imported via a dealer. Anyone an expert on grey market cars and the customs and excise duty? I have been informed by a guy in the motor trade that before I sell it I should declare to pay excise duty of around 50k. He said if I don't then the car could be seized at the DLT when I go to transfer it or there could be a fine of up to 10 times the duty of 50k. In the blue book page 18 when I translate using Google it says ' importd through the private port CRC Bkk, Receipt number xxxx, import duty bookKor Sor Kor 21, number Kor Nor xxxxxxx. I thought that would mean the correct duty was paid at the time and the car has had 3 change of owners since new and never previously flagged by the DLT. Anyone any experience of this?

Visa Bank Account below 800k........
So worst case scenario I have to leave the country after 13 years, I'm out of touch with visa options, where is the nearest place I could go to get a visa and do I get another Non O same as I got in 2012 ? ( I got that from the Thai embassy in Saudi Arabia where I had been living and working since 2002)

Visa Bank Account below 800k........
I agree, however, they gain nothing by deporting me but get tea money if they overlook my error.0 I have got another option up my sleeve which is pretty much the same, i.e. a smnall fine.

Visa Bank Account below 800k........
My preference at the moment is to sit it out and wait and apply early as suggested to give me time to sort anything out. I would hope for a small fine only as clearly the correct funds were available at the time.

Visa Bank Account below 800k........
For around 12 years I have kept a seperate account for my visa with the balance just over 800k apart from one time about 3 years ago when I needed to use some but didn't go below 400k and topped it back up before the renewal period. I renewed my visa first week in October then on 7/11 I needed to make an urgent transfer which I accidentally did from my visa account instead of my savings account. I noticed my mistake on 9/11 so immedately topped it up again from my savings account. so for 2 days my visa account was 782, 847, so just over 17k short but I had around 73k in my savings account , both with Krungsri bank. Anyone else done this and what was the outcome, how did you remedy it? I'm in Hua Hin and I know immigration in other parts of thailand are sometimes stricter or more relaxed. I could just wing it at the next renewal and hope the IO doesn't spot it or come clean now. I would hope with my bank account history they will be lenient for 2 days and maybe a small fine would have it overlooked. Or can I use the 2 seperate accounts which total more than 800K............ Any sensible advice appreciated.

What Router?
Thanks for all the replies, useful, not useful and ones I didn't understand. I've drawn the conclusion that changing a router is not easy and may not solve the issue so I will leave this thread, maybe the info will be useful to another person in the future. Any major buffering problems and I will contact AIS.
-
What Router?
Yes but not when there was a problem,I was preparing for that. However as it's not an android device I had to get my ISP provider to talk me through the set up with something called IBO player. When it buffered during the Man City game, first I switched to another android box then tried my laptop but when I opened IBO it said trial ended and I didn't want to bother the IPTV provider at night. It doesn't usually buffer during footy maybe as most games are quite late.
-
What Router?
19.2 Mbps.
-
What Router?
The speed fluctuates, it's usually between 8-9 pm when it slows down, or at least that's when my TV programmes start to buffer.
-
What Router?
That test was on my laptop this afternoon, not my Ugoos AM8 box
-
What Router?
Ugoos AM8.
-
What Router?
They did ask me to do a speed test and I have seen 1GB during local test previously
-
What Router?
- What Router?
I'm pleased about that.- What Router?
So a current download speed of 19.2 Mbps is nothing to do with internet but a poor IPTV service ?- What Router?
I've had True home wifi for a few years but recently around 8-9 pm the speed declines so my IPTV programmes buffer or freeze. I've just changed to AIS but sometimes I still have the same problem. AIS have obviously installed a new router, the download speed I pay for is 1 GB, would buying a new router increase my speed? The router AIS supplied is Huawei cyberstar HG8045x6-12-ais If so what router or what spec should I be looking for please?- How to watch Premier League in Thailand
Monomax had an opening offer with 100 Baht reduction per month but for 1500 baht for 6 months you can get a full IPTV sevice which gives you UK, Aus and NZ channels plus all the sport you can throw a stick at. Not just EPL, champioship, champions league, darts , golf .F1 etc and with 3 days catch up - What Router?
