CAN A THAI WIFE GET A U.S. SSN OR TIN ASSIGNED WHILE IN THAILAND

Yes. You fill out the IRS Form W-7 and submit it with the next tax return you file. Assuming you intend to file a joint return. Biggest headache is the requirement to provide her ID. Best way to do that is take her passport to the US Embassy to get a certified copy made. https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-7 -
You are obviously very impressed with the size of Russia's nuclear arsenal. The number of warheads he has isn't nearly as important as how many of them would actually work. ICBMs require a lot of maintenance and the chances that Putin has been spending the millions necessary are slim to none. Of course there would be a handful that might work and a small chance that one or two could reach the US. And Bombers could strike the other Nato countries so there would be some horrific damage. But the only total annihilation would be Russia. It would cease to exist if they ever used a nuke on a Nato country. The rest of the world would recover but not Russia and Putin knows it. I am not worried about the end of humanity. Using a couple of tactical nukes in Ukraine would be a tough response to predict however. Putin might just be crazy enough to do that.

Only 155? Where did you get that number from? The United Nations has a current membership of 193 member states and two permanent non-member observer states (Palestine and Vatican City/Holy See).

With a valid UK license and IDP no written or practical test required (unless there has been a major change). Both the 1949 and 1968 are valid in Thailand but no telling what the DLT wants. Thailand signed the 1948 Treaty in Aug 1962, but didn't sign the 1968 Treaty until May 0f 2020 so DLT may be more used to dealing with the 1949 IDP. Of course some countries can only issue the 1968 IDP because they didn't ratify the 1949 Treaty. I assume they are able to get the Thai license using that one. You'll also have to get the Certificate of Residence (COR) and Medical Cert. But even with the streamlined conversion from UK to Thai license you'll still spend half a day there. My friends girlfriend works for a small visa agency and they offer a hand-holding service to help people get their Thai license and she said they take the clients to Rayong because it is easier to deal with that office.

Not sure if this was already answered or not but it looks like the eLearning website is still active so you can watch the safety video online and not have to do it at the DLT. I did this when for my last renewal which was just after Covid lock downs. A foreigner uses their passport number to register and upon completion you download a pdf of the completion certificate to take to the DLT.

Pattaya does have driving schools that are certified by the DLT. I believe that they are intended mainly for people that don't know how to drive and actually need to learn how. Not just take the practical test. Google Pattaya Driving Schools If you use one of the DLT certified schools you take their certificate to the DLT and get to skip the written and practical tests. One example is Pattaya Central Driving School. pattayaklangdrivingschool (add www. & .com)

This a a direct link to the form on a different website. This version is on one page and is just like the one I was given at Jomtien. https://www.pim.ac.th/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/FORM-STM.2-Acknowledgment-For-Permit-1.pdf STM 2 Form -
Non Imm O Retirement Extension - Jomtien
Smokin Joe replied to scubascuba3's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I did my retirement extension Tuesday, Apr 29th, and was handed the STM 2 Form to fill out when I was having my documents checked. Took about 1 minute to fill out while I stood off to the side. I downloaded the form from the link posted by upnotover and converted it to PDF. I was going to attach it but it is not allowed to attach PDF files. -
TTB Bank e-Passbook
Smokin Joe replied to doctormann's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
If you're talking about the TTB Branch on 2nd Rd by Soi Honey I'm surprised that it took a few days for your annual statement for immigration. I've been using that branch since the merger and was at that branch since it was Siam City Bank and got taken over by Thanachart. I have always received my bank letter on the spot on a walk-in basis. Takes about 30 minutes but have never had to come back a different day. I'll be going there again this coming Tuesday (4/29) to get my annual bank letter and then go to Jomtien to do my retirement extension. I always got to the bank right after they open and then directly to Jomtien. Never had any real problems.
