Yeah, thanks to me for getting the aircon.....but it could easily return to the hellish highs. Summer is not over yet!!
We need to set up a rota for car washing, to ensure the daily rain continues .

Rain
in Chiang Mai
Does anyone have a link to the radar? It would make it so much easier to see this stuff, rather than just looking out my window.
http://www2.tmd.go.th/radar/lmp.php
But it's not been updated since 25 April. Usually updates every 15 minutes.

Never get excited flying back into Thailand. Opposite to my emotions when descending in to Manchester Airport, catching glimpses of the moors through the clouds, Joy Division & Happy Mondays playing in my headphones.
Guess what? Not only is there a whole world of good music in addition to the brilliant stuff that came out of Manchester but both Joy Division and Happy Mondays (or Inspiral Carpets, Stone Roses et al) all play fine on my headphones right here in Thailand.
They can do wondrous things with technology these days.
Never sound as good as on that descent into MAN. It isn't just the music, but the views of northern England & that "coming home" feeling. The descent into CNX through a toxic brown cloud in April doesn't excite.

Not so hot now

Out of interest, does anyone know what how many km's you have left when the fuel warning lights comes on, 30 / 50 / 70 kms?
I once arrived at a petrol station with 1 km showing on the gauge. Didn't plan it that way, just no where to fill up.

Rain
in Chiang Mai
Does anyone know what's going on with the Underground Aquifers in the Chiang Mai-Lamphun Basin?
They're being pumped. Whether the amount being pumped out is sustainable, I've no idea. But I hope so. Where I live the farmers pump to fill their rice fields during the dry season.

I've bought from Lazada, not a dashcam. Very easy transaction. You can pay cash on delivery (30baht charge). Arrived the next day by courier.

Rudeness and agression? I wonder where you've been?
The main problem is that if you have no idea what things cost - true for the majority of tourists - they'll quote you 3, 4, or even 10 times the fair price. But they're not really driving a hard bargain at all, when I name what I know is a fair price and then just leave, they will usually agree to the fair price rather than see me leave. Just never stop smiling; but you know that already right.
Trying to buy knock off Shirts and a fair price just don't seem like they go together.
Next thing you know he will be looking for better quality than the real ones.
this has to be a low for TV
Looking for another place to buy knock off shirts because you will not be treated with the respect you feel you are due in buying a knock off.
How much respect is that to the teams. They do not play knock off football.
Non knock off are a rip off.
End of.

The best material remains quality glassware. Remember the old style pyrex dishes and bowels?
I try to avoid eating from bowels as much as possible.
I am guessing you don't like sausages then, since that is pretty much what they are wrapped with
Aren't "sausages" here wrapped in plastic?

Major freaking storm south of San Kamphaeng earlier. Never seen wind so strong. Major damage to trees . Will know more tomorrow when daylight arrives.

Article in UK Guardian newspaper today about pollution in UK cities caused by vehicles. I wonder how most asian cities compare with their black smoke belching buses & trucks. i live out in the countryside near Chiang Mai & smoke from burning is a big problem. But I believe the nasty pollution is in the city of Chiang Mai where all the cars & diesel pickups are.

Quote "Local residents are urged to refrain from using the 27-year-old bridge until repair works are completed."
Can't they close the bridge. Not by putting some plastic tape across. But something a bit more concrete.
It's the same up north. The authorities "urge people to refrain from burning". Utterly spineless.

I am satisfied with living in Thailand too, but in general, there is a lot of complaining on internet forums. I kept reading about how much better Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam/South America was on Thai Visa, but when I searched local forums for those supposed nirvanas, there were far more complaints than here.
Expats moan wherever they live. Happened long before the interweb was invented. Used to be confined mostly to bars & parties. Nothing new. Wish folk would stop moaning about folk moaning.

Cellotape a couple of small magnets to the frame. Or to be more stylish, use fabric plasters - for the "Jack Duckworth" look
