    Like with many rich people it's nothing to do with time but with showing off wealth. You can't always sit in your Ferrari, Lambo etc. Understatement is rare. Rolex is a typical show off piece because even the pleb knows it. In Germany it has the image of a pimp's jewellery. Come with a Patek Philippe 10 times the price and only insiders will know about it. The poor and ordinary not even have/wear a wristwatch.

    One of the biggest lies revived. Combined with the cholesterol lie where a researcher simply dropped results from countries where high cholesterol does not correspond with heart disease. Also often overlooked: this is your total cholesterol. But there are different types of cholesterol. The ratio of LDL/HDL is important. It should be less than 4 depending on other conditions.

    Russian Ruble much more gain (0.3 to 0.4) but historically still miserable. Indian Rupee weak, close to no gain. Chinese Yuan deep down. No gain. ...

    The Dollar is weak, that is the headline. No reason to do a 24h+ trip to Thailand. For Euro and others the gains look better. But still, why come to baking hot Thailand now while you can enjoy spring around the Mediterranean, Canary islands and elsewhere. Finding a cheaper flight outweighs any of these minimal currency gains.

    Some neighbors have a monthly power bill of less than 100 Baht. (in former times they got that low consumption for free BTW)

    We had a terrible heat wave in May 2024. Unbearable, every day 40+ and mornings with 30. A mate comes to Pattaya next month. I asked him if he is mad! I take the burden and will see him.
