Mobile internet is a nice addition but nothing beats a wired fiber connection. Have 3BB 1000/500 for two years or so. No relevant outages, never felt the need to call customer service. Consider "investing" in a good VPN SW to circumvent throttling/country based locks etc.

Yes, even in Phuket. For the rest the question sounds sarcastic

Thailand to extend cap on diesel prices to help consumers

".sv" in the link, El Salvador That would be the point for me to swipe to the bin. It's an elaborate pishing attempt but also the "thailandpost" links are not genuine. I would not bother post office with it. It's a cyber crime affair and Thai post itself can't do much except warn. With the already many thousand victims just dump and forget. Check your account and be happy if no unusual activity. Thanks for showing your experience. Just today paid for a domestic ticket via online banking (1130 Baht). As usual being directed to banks login site and have to enter an 8 digit OTP received as SMS on the smartphone. Wonder how they managed this fraud. Is it for the low amounts deducted? I just won 40000 Euro in the lottery and Angel is waiting for me

To add some complication. The 21st (tommorow) will be a public holiday in "central Thailand"/"central region". Don't ask me for a precise list. From Richard Barrow:

True if you want to check for taking umbrella or not Their composite is also interesting: https://weather.tmd.go.th/composite/index_composite.html Currently not much around except in the deep south.

For forecast I use: https://meteologix.com/th/forecast/1609350-bangkok/xltrend You can search for a multitude of Thai locations (seems like down to district level). It shows forecast values (temp, rain, wind) from a range of weather centers. I usually untick all but the "ECMWF" sites (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts). This is the precipitation forecast for Bangkok as an example:

Exactly. Although an important Bhuddhist holiday, it's not a public holiday. It's a full moon holiday with varying dates. Fr 22 is substitute for Sat 23 (Chulalongkorn day). Completely unrelated, fixed date.

Good point. Khon Kaen same same. Never any appointment needed there for me and others. Last extension in at 9:30h (dead empty), out 10:05h with new stamp. Unfortunately I have no contacts in Udon.

A challenging question. Found an interesting map showing the obvious: major parts of Naklua (north of Dolphin circle) are "hilltop". I had a mate who lived near top of Soi 16 (Riviera Wongamat) and I remember how I went "uphill". (of course some spots in Naklua also forming a "pool") https://en-us.topographic-map.com/maps/tl2u/Thailand/

How to renew expired Thai driving license
KhunBENQ replied to norbra's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Has it been raised? In 2017 for motorbike license it was 45 of 50, I passed with 47 (seen some Thai language sources up to this year, 45 of 50 is pass) From the last check of the rules: expired between one to three years: redo theory (multiple choice test) in addition to the usual. -
How to renew expired Thai driving license

The real problem currently are the long queues (according to reports from Bangkok and other sites). A guy complained that he would have to get up at 5 AM to join the "foreigner queue" (40 per day at his office). Foreigner queue: there is an online queue/appointment website but seemingly not usable for foreigners. -
Sorry, seen after my post and in line with the story I was told.

Not sure whether it is related: a mate recently was at Khon Kaen immigration. 1) He had his savings account book (K-Bank) and letter way more than 800k. The account shows no movement since years (except some minor interest). 2) The mate receives his monthly pension to another account at Bangkok Bank. He only showed documents for 1). Immigration officer asks "what are you living on"? He had nothing to show but came through with a reminder for next year. I bet the officer is always entitled to ask the question. I told mate: always have all books with you. Preferably with international transfers shown.

Three foreign drivers fall for Kalim corner in two weeks
KhunBENQ replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
From the article: They haven't heard of guardrails which would should be standard at such an edge? Some pain/signs, solar powered warning lights would be added comfort. Asking for too much.
