16 Foreign Women Arrested in Pattaya Prostitution Operation

A crackdown on prostitution in Pattaya resulted in the arrest of 16 foreign women during a nighttime operation along Pattaya Beach and nearby roads. Conducted by immigration officers, social development officials, tourist police, and volunteers, the operation targeted individuals suspected of soliciting in public areas.

Among those arrested, 12 women faced charges of public solicitation. This group included one woman from Kyrgyzstan, five from Uzbekistan, and six from Uganda. They were fined by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, while immigration officers initiated proceedings to revoke their visas and process deportation.

Additionally, another Ugandan woman was arrested for both solicitation and overstaying her visa by 108 days. She was taken to Pattaya City Police Station for further legal action. Three more Ugandan women were detained on related charges, with immigration authorities working on deportation procedures.

The crackdown aligns with a previous operation in Bangkok, where 16 foreign women were arrested after social media complaints about soliciting on Sukhumvit Soi 4. Arrests included nationals from Tanzania, Kenya, and Vietnam, charged under Thai law Section 5 of the Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act 1996.

Not correct. I am not IT savvy enough to find them but over the years there have been several media reports after Thai govt and police personnel have done photo-op walks. They were quoted as saying no prostitution was found.

Even Blind Freddy could count 100+ girls, and LB on Beach Roadbon any evening.

Not correct. The reports you're referring to were for Walking Street, where it's rare to find prostitutes soliciting on the street, especially if there's a police walk happening! No one has ever made the ludicrous claim that there's no prostitution in Thailand or Pattaya.

That's true.

But why let the facts get in the way kf a little gratuitous Thai-bashing?

Yes, they're getting rid of foreigners soliciting as they can be deported. Thai girls doing the same are frequently taken in by the police, but as it's a minor offence, they are just fined (minimally) and let go, inevitably to return to their patch!

Perhaps you're new here, but there are many who seem to really believe that the Thai police/authorities genuinely have said there's no prostitution in Thailand/Pattaya.

But if he was, he should use an appropriate emoji to indicate sarcasm, which, in any case, is the lowest form of wit and deserves to be called out.

I live here. And i know his sense of humour. Obviously you do not have one. If you are too stupid to understand this that’s your problem he does not have to add anything to suit you. It’s his post not yours. Off you go and bore somewhere else. 😤

Yes, I would imagine its quite difficult to get a work permit for 'soliciting'?

Yes- unless maybe when you apply for the work permit you explain you are very poor and are just trying to make ends meet?

Many years ago I porked an African bird in London at the start of my 3 months tour of Europe. She was staying at the same hotel as me so I took her out to dinner and drinks. When we returned to our hotel she changed rooms and had a shower. Once she got into action she went off like a bucket of prawns in the sun. This only went on for 3 nights thank goodness as she trashed me. Before I left to go to France we swapped phone numbers but I've never heard from her since. No money was ever mentioned so I just paid for meals and drinks as in a normal relationship.

Not only is there no prostitution in Pattaya, there is no prostitution anywhere in Thailand, and that's official.

Something that has never been claimed by any Thai official of any agency but, of course, many Asean Now posters love to claim that it has been asserted.

That is factually incorrect, what you're referring to was just one pretentious old queer's opinion but what he actually said was, "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence"

Now come on Mr BB .... If you're going to use a saying, at least use the full monty, not just part of it.
The full quote is "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but the highest form of intelligence." A quote from Oscar Wilde, I believe! 😁

Yes, as @Liverpool Lou has already pointed out. However, the post I was referring to was, I believe, an attempt to be amusing (or even witty), when in reality it's a tedious comment made on practically every thread like this one.
