Chinese burglary suspects arrested at Suvarnabhumi

Two Chinese nationals wanted over a string of burglaries at a housing estate in Nonthaburi have been arrested at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport after allegedly returning to Thailand months after the offences.

Police from Chaiyaphruek Police Station arrested 49-year-old Mr. Lebao Jiang and 49-year-old Mr. Feixing Hong at the international arrivals hall on the second floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport at around 11.30pm on 27 July. Both men were the subject of arrest warrants issued by the Nonthaburi Provincial Court on 11 May 2026.

Officers said they seized clothing, shoulder bags, shoes, balaclavas, gloves and other items they believe were intended for use in further burglaries.

The pair have been charged with jointly committing burglary at a dwelling at night, damaging barriers protecting property, entering through an unauthorised access point, disguising themselves to avoid identification, and acting together with two or more offenders. Police said both suspects denied all charges during initial questioning and an interpreter will assist with further interviews.

Up market homes targeted

The investigation centres on burglaries carried out on 9 and 11 April 2026 at a well-known luxury housing estate in Bang Tanai, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi. Police said three Chinese suspects - Mr. JIANG, Mr. Hong and Mr. Wenhua Chen, who remains at large - were responsible.

Investigators said the gang targeted three houses, although officers later stated they believe four homes were burgled. Property including gold necklaces, cash and designer handbags was allegedly stolen before being sold in Pattaya, Chonburi. Police estimated the value of the stolen items at around 1 million baht per burglary.

According to investigators, the suspects stayed at a hotel in Bangkok’s Don Mueang area, travelled close to the estate using Grab vehicles, then walked across vacant land before climbing a perimeter fence to enter the development. After selling the stolen property in Pattaya on about 12 April, they allegedly flew back to China on 14 April.

Returned to Thailand

Detectives said CCTV footage, hotel enquiries and other evidence enabled them to identify the suspects and obtain arrest warrants. Immigration police were then alerted to watch for their return.

Authorities said two of the three suspects re-entered Thailand on 27 July, leading to their arrest at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The third suspect did not travel with them and remains wanted.

Investigators said the operation formed part of a wider national policy to crack down on transnational crime. They also urged the public to report anyone they believe may be acting suspiciously so officers can investigate.
