Chinese Man Attacks Ladyboy in Pattaya Hotel

A 22-year-old Chinese man allegedly attacked a ladyboy with a broken glass inside a hotel room in Pattaya, leaving the victim covered in blood with multiple injuries before fleeing Thailand.

Get today's headlines by email image.png

The incident came to light after Facebook user “bell apisara” posted video clips and details online, claiming the victim had been assaulted by a Chinese man. The post said the victim was prevented from leaving the room and only escaped after eventually managing to open the door for friends to help. According to the post, the victim suffered facial wounds requiring 19 stitches, eight stitches to the hand and four stitches to the foot.

The attack reportedly happened at a hotel in South Pattaya, Chon Buri. Reporters visited the hotel at about 6pm on 25 May 2026 and spoke with reception staff, who said they were not present during the incident but had been briefed by a colleague working the earlier shift.

Hotel staff said the injured ladyboy ran down from a third-floor room at around 6am on 25 May in a blood-soaked condition and told staff only that “the Chinese man did not pay for my services”. Staff provided assistance and recorded part of the aftermath on video.

The suspect was identified as Chen Wentao, 22, a Chinese national. Hotel records showed he checked in on 23 May and paid 750 baht per night, with a 500-baht deposit. Following the incident, he allegedly fled without collecting the deposit and the hotel is gathering evidence to file a complaint with Pattaya City Police over property damage.

Police believe the dispute may have started after the Chinese man allegedly hired the victim for services and later became angry after discovering the victim was a ladyboy. Investigators are examining whether this led to the assault.

The victim, identified as 25-year-old Thanawat, filed a complaint with Pattaya City Police. Officers sent the victim for a medical examination and planned a detailed interview later.

Authorities later confirmed that Chen Wentao had already left Thailand. Immigration records showed he departed through Suvarnabhumi Airport, passing through immigration at 11.20am on 25 May for a flight bound for Chongqing, China.

Amarin reported that police are continuing their investigation and are expected to review evidence, witness accounts and medical reports as part of the case.

A horrid incident- but inflicting facial injuries demanding 19 stitches cannot be justified really

Details say hand and foot stitches, Chinese guy defending from the usual LB punches and kick I would assume.

What really happened here is that the Chinese fella ordered up a call-girl and instead he got a guy pretending to be a chick and the Chinese fella declined services and then the chick dude demanded payment for his shenanigans then a scuffle ensued when he the John refused to pay up.

Maybe he was saving himself from a taking a balcony dive.

Maybe because they have a history of being attacked.

So they learned that they need to protect each other.

I've really got no comment but I must say they should rid the Pattaya tourist areas of ladyboys before they go around chasing bad farangs

Point is that for some reason a lot of people like going with LBs. Whatever floats ya boat, but it ain't mine.

And if you're a LB better make it plain BEFORE you leave for someone's room with them. Otherwise it's fraud pure and simple. After all, they pride themselves on being indistinguishable from real women.

...and the assault with broken glass? Happens all the time in a "scuffle" does it?

I'm curious how the other party describes what happened.

But I doubt we'll ever know. Next trip, he'll probably be going to Vietnam.

UPDATE

Pattaya Chinese Assault Case Takes New Twist

image.png

Fresh details and newly released video footage have triggered intense online debate over the case involving a Chinese man accused of attacking a ladyboy inside a Pattaya hotel room before fleeing Thailand.

The case first emerged after a ladyboy posted claims on Facebook alleging being violently assaulted by a Chinese man in a hotel room in Pattaya, Chon Buri. The victim said the suspect prevented them from leaving the room and used broken glass during the attack, leaving injuries requiring 19 stitches to the face, eight to the hand and four to the foot.

However, on 26 May 2026, the Facebook page “Jmoi V+” released a video clip lasting about three minutes showing another angle of the incident. The footage reportedly showed the Chinese man attempting to force the victim and friends out of the room, while the victim allegedly re-entered the room several times. The clip also appeared to show damage to mirrors and hotel property inside the room.

The release of the footage prompted mixed reactions online. Some social media users continued calling for the Chinese suspect to be arrested and prosecuted, while others questioned the behaviour of the victim following the publication of the new video.

A hotel employee also publicly responded to accusations that hotel staff helped the Chinese suspect escape. The employee denied the claims, stating staff never assisted the man and did not know when he left because he allegedly escaped through a rear fire exit. The employee added that the suspect abandoned his 500-baht room deposit and that staff had to break into the room because it was locked from inside.

The hotel also stated staff immediately contacted police after the incident. According to the employee, the ladyboy had earlier refused to provide an identity card despite hotel rules requiring identification before entering the room. The hotel confirmed it is also pursuing legal action over property damage.

Pattaya City Police superintendent Pol Col Anek Sarathongyu confirmed investigators had already questioned the victim, identified as 24-year-old Thanawat. Police also confirmed the suspect, Chen Wentao, 22, a Chinese national, departed Thailand through Suvarnabhumi Airport on 25 May 2026, before the victim formally filed a police complaint.

Police said the timing prevented officers from stopping the suspect from leaving the country. Investigators are now reviewing the newly released video footage as part of the case file to establish the exact sequence of events and determine any criminal offences based on evidence and witness statements.

Authorities added that if a Thai court approves an arrest warrant, police will seek an Interpol Red Notice and coordinate with Chinese authorities to pursue the suspect through legal channels.

Cunning. The Chinese man locked his room on the inside, slid under the door into the corridor and fled down the fire escape.😀

He managed to pack, check out, get from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi, and pass immigration in under 5 hours. Unbelievable.

Book a ticket online for the next flight = 5 minutes .

Chuck all your clothes in bag = 5 minutes

Call a Grab taxi = 5 minutes

Travel time 90 minutes .

Check in online .

Immigration = 30 minutes

Plenty of time

Amazing how these “easy” timelines always assume the next available flight to his country is magically leaving immediately with empty seats waiting for him 😂 One delay, full flight, traffic jam or check-in cutoff and the whole plan falls apart.

I am just stating what happened , he did mange to book a ticket and board within 5 hours .

But yes, it wouldn't always be possible to do that if all the flights are full

Yeah fair enough, this time the stars aligned for him. I still wouldn’t bank on Pattaya-to-booking-a-plane-sitting-there-waiting-for-him (with empty seats) in 5 hours as a long-term travel strategy though 😂
