Foreign Man Throws Acid at Apartment Worker in Pattaya

A foreign man allegedly threw chemical acid at a female apartment worker in Pattaya, leaving her critically injured with severe burns. The attack took place at around 8.40pm on 23 June 2026 at an apartment building in Soi Arunothai 2. The 43-year-old victim, Ms Wirawan Aphimetheethamrong, suffered burns to her face, chest and shoulders, with reports indicating more than 40% of her body was affected.

Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation and officers from Pattaya City Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of a chemical attack. By the time emergency personnel arrived, members of the public had already helped transport the victim to hospital. Investigators found chemical residue throughout the reception area, while furniture, documents, carpets and other items showed signs of corrosion and melting.

According to apartment staff, the suspect had been visiting the building while searching for his wife or girlfriend, who had previously stayed there but no longer lived at the property. Witnesses said the man had been knocking on residents’ doors, disturbing tenants and causing concern among occupants. Ms Wirawan approached him and asked him to stop bothering residents and leave the premises.

Witnesses told police that the foreign man became angry after being challenged and left the building. He allegedly returned a short time later carrying a container filled with what appeared to be chemical acid. He then walked to the reception counter and threw the liquid directly at Ms Wirawan before fleeing the scene.

A colleague, Ms Meena, 29, told police that the suspect was a Caucasian man believed to be in his mid-thirties. She said he did not live at the apartment complex but had frequently entered the building and wandered between floors, causing concern among residents. Apartment staff had previously photographed the man because of his repeated disruptive behaviour and later handed the images to police.

The Daily News reported that the police have classified the case as a serious violent crime and launched an investigation. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the apartment building and nearby areas in Soi Arunothai to identify the suspect and trace his movements after the attack. The man remains at large, and police have appealed for information that could assist in locating and arresting him.

What are you talking about?

  1. There is nothing that says the man was drunk.

  2. There is no mention of money being owed

  3. There is no mention of the character of the victim.

Either you are posting in the wrong thread or just trolling.

What are you talking about?

Everything you wrote is based on false assumptions

Your reading comprehension is poor.

The article said the victim was the apartment manager not the person he was looking for.

I can appreciate the fact that you believe we should assume sobriety of the perpetrator unless we have breathalyzer test results.

Whatever. Would it make you happy if I changed the rule of thumb?

Rule of Thumb:

Never carry strong acid like a eurotrash thug while popping on a roid rage GRRRR and try to collect the money some trollop owes you, because you might kick off on innocent bystanders 😀

Wouldn't disseminating the photos they obviously have of him help?

This is an awful crime committed be some emotional stunted moron than no-one should get involved in. This woman barely said anything to him and he went off the deep end in a hateful hissyfit and clear superoirity complex of entitlement... hope the Thais cops bag him and he serves a very long time in the BBK Hilton serving dudes in the shower.

What a sick ahole.

His gf broke up with him and he's taking it out on an innocent worker.

He caused this woman permanent scars and deserves a very long prison sentence.

In my opinion, He doesn't deserve a prison sentence.

He has caused Horrific painful life threatening, and life changing injuries to an innocent woman.

He is no better tan a rabid dog, and should be dealt with accordingly. ☠️

I, think a death sentence would be appropriate.

Au contraire.

You invented that the man was drunk.

You invented that money was owed (you don’t specify how much, by whom, to whom)

You invented that someone was a “trollope “ (victim, girlfriend, unknown stranger. You don’t specify)

So what I am saying is that you made up a bunch of stuff that based on current reported facts, are simply not true. All of which makes it fairly hard to comprehend what you are talking about.

What don’t you explain further why you think the man was drunk, what money is owed by whom, to whom and who, and why you think a female in the story is a trollope.

I’m happy to learn if you point me in the right direction of where your ideas came from. ATM they appear pure fantasy.

I’m not interested in insults or some deflection onto some other subject. Just the facts please Sir.

Thailand is unfortunately attracting all the drug junkies from all over the west. One would be surprised and horrified in seeing how drug consumption is infecting all social classes of western society. (and all over the world in fact). So what is the solution ? Ask for a mandatory negative drug screening from a doctor to show on arrival ?

Was he on drugs? I missed that bit in the article. Strangely, an earlier poster seemed to think he was drunk. Which is something else I missed in the article.

He might be on drugs, he might have been drunk, none of the witnesses are reported as suggesting that.

Well I hope for the guy that he was on drugs or booze. Because if not, that is even worse and he is a full time threat to society in that case.

As I said, maybe either of those things. Or he was just crazy mad with his girlfriend/wife who he couldn’t find, and took it out on the employee. Or, maybe he is genuinely mentally ill.

He could also just be a very very bad person.

not surprisingly, at this point in the investigation there are no details on these things.

A despicable and cowardly act that deserves a severe custodial sentence. One has to wonder what would have happened had this individual found the woman he was searching for.

We can only hope that Ms Wirawan makes a speedy recovery from this vile attack!

Daily stories of farang trash in Patts. I rest my case.

The person that done this must go to jail for a very long time. 20 years and not get out early. The lady must get compensation a few million thai baht. Please let the other prisoners know what he do. So sorry to hear about this good lady.

Hopefully police and immigration can find him before he gets away. Seems to be lots of photos of him. He deserves life sentence at least.

I believe they have caught him.

Let’s see them now throw the book at him.

Give him 20 years minimum.

The death penalty is too quick. He should suffer for the rest of his life as she will.

These brits are way out of hand . About time they are rounded up and

deported. Can just about be done based on profiles. Just look at this pos. Well the 10 Thai males were missing when you need them at that location but see what happens in prison. And George Albert can you for sure follow up on this.

If he is put in a thai prison, and chances look good. I doubt he will survive two weeks. Thai prisoners will know about his crime and exact revenge. He is a dead man walking, he is just too dumb to know that yet. He will though.

Break his legs. Throw him in a dark cell and let him fight over food with rats.

It was most likely Vixol 15% Hydrochloric acid. This chemical dissolves bath scales and salts like Calcium carbonate, CaCO3:

2HCl +CaCO3>CaCl2+H2CO3. Then to H2O+CO2 and Ca+Cl2. And is relatively mild acid mixture fortunately
