I get this is technically criminal and outside of such places as India we can't have people itting all over the joint, but it is also the human condition.

It's not a subject for general conversation, but one of the most frequent complaints I used to hear from tourists in my business was the lack of public toilets. Would it have helped in this situation? Who knows?
But how often do we see posts about visitors using the Moat in Chiang Mai as a toilet? We've even had pictures of tourists hanging their butts over the edge of the Moat, and complaints about foreigners urinating in public.
If you really want to attract tourists, make the venue tourist-friendly. Increase the number of public toilets, as Europe does. It's even more welcome by the aging expat community with enlarged prostates and looking for the loo every hour!

Easy solution. Issue each tourist with dog poo bags except larger.

Deft fingers can scoop up the mess with their fingers outside the plastic bag turned inside out, before gently pulling the outside of the bag tight and tying a knot.

If your plan relies on tourists wearing adult diapers, don't be surprised if you have no tourists. They'll go elsewhere. And you deserve it.

Every restaurant/cafe has a toilet. Go in order a Coke/Pepsi use the toilet drink the beverage and leave.

The town I live in has two public toilet blocks; primarily for use by exercising locals. They are in or near the park . So although technically there are public toilets they are not super convenient. However there are many restaurant/cafes.

I’m glad I don’t live in your town. I prefer French towns, with pissoirs on every other corner. You don’t see tourists p!sing in the fountains there, nor are they required to buy food just to urinate! Charging tourists anything more than a 3-4 Baht fee is absurd. Fortunately, Thailand doesn’t agree with your idea either, and IS putting up more public toilets. It’s a win for tourism.

I worked in the more remote parts of China about 40 years ago where the locals dropped their drawers and dumped regardless of where they were or who was around. It's cultural.

They didn't use arse wipe or bum guns either.

Most of the eateries I've been to in Thailand don't have their own toilet. Even their employees have to head down the street when nature calls.

That's a shocker for tourists from the nanny states that require restaurants to have at least 2 toilets to pass inspection in order to operate. But that's the juiciest piece of the market... Tourists from the nanny states. Or, as some folks call them, the high income countries.

They thought they were on a tour to the Capitol!

Beach road jomtiem many shower and toilets setup privately for public use, little old ladies keep em clean 5/10 baht, godsend. Spend a penny in the old days! 😀

I remember once inside the skytrain from Suvarnabhumi airport to Bangkok, there was a Chinese women who simply squatted and pissed on the floor!
