Pattaya police question Chinese man over condo assault

A Chinese man has been taken for questioning after a 28-year-old Thai woman alleged that he held her inside a Pattaya condominium for more than three hours, assaulted her and tried to force her to remove her clothes.

The woman, identified as Ms Beam, filed her complaint with Pattaya City Police on 12 September 2026. She said the incident happened at a condominium on Thappraya Road in Pattaya, Chonburi.

According to her statement, her mobile phone had gone missing and she suspected that a younger female acquaintance had taken it. She later received information that she should go to the condominium if she wanted it returned.

Woman says she was held alone in room

Ms Beam said she travelled to the building with her older sibling, who is a ladyboy. When they arrived outside the room, she alleged that the Chinese man inside suddenly opened the door and pulled both into the room.

Her sibling managed to break free and escape, but Ms Beam said she was held inside alone.

She told police that the man appeared intoxicated and attempted to make her remove her clothes in order to commit an indecent act. When she resisted, she said he assaulted her, leaving her injured.

The woman also alleged that the man showed her more than 30 items resembling "Port K heads". The report did not specify what the items were.

She said an acquaintance later came to the condominium and helped negotiate her release. Ms Beam then went directly to Pattaya City Police Station to make a report.

No passport produced during police action

Following the complaint, Pattaya police investigators and patrol officers went to the condominium with building management staff and brought the Chinese man to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning.

Police said he resisted being taken into custody, making the operation difficult. Initial checks found that he was unable to produce travel documents or a passport.

Investigators are continuing to question all parties, to establish the facts. They are also preparing to seek court approval to search the condominium room for illegal items and to proceed under the law.
