I couldn't get Chrome browser to translate it into English, possibly one of my Extensions causing that.

However, Edge browser (which is also Chromium based as we know) did translate it so I went through the survey. As someone said, you need to be quick on the popup asking about translation. It's anonymous, by the way no need to supply any form of ID.

IMO, I agree with those who say it's intended for Thai people working in the tourist industry, not for we foreigners.

Again, IMO, the questions are quite bizarre, it frequently refers to Juristic persons. But, for what it may be worth, I gave my opinions, disagreeing with most of the questions, hoping to show that i think the whole plan is flawed.

And, it's not been particularly well proof-read - many questions call for an "Agree" or "Disagree" response but when you get to Question 20 you see:

Presently, that just takes me back to the start of the survey!

I already completed the survey and submitted my comments by using Google Chrome's built-in translation tool. I didn't encounter any problem at all. But I have also sent an email to [email protected] which is provided on the law.go.th listening portal (click on the farthest right tab labelled "Contact information for the organization").

You can absolutely use [email protected] to send in your feedback. This email address belongs directly to the Thailand Tourism Promotion Fund, which is the specific agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports responsible for managing the upcoming tourist fee and its budget allocations.

Because the questionnaire on the central portal is predominantly in Thai, emailiing this department directly is an excellent workaround for foreign travelers or expats who want to submit detailed, English-language feedback regarding the proposed THB450 tourism fee.

Nothing new about that. they are only interested about the money.

It is a wonder a few offices have not caught fiie due to the gleeful rubbing together of anticipating palms. A good boost to new car sales too!

Yes, not that unusual. But I still think it should be called something else. Like a Landing Fee or Environmental Fee..A Tourist Tax sounds too much like a greedy money grab - which is what it is regardless of the name - but somehow it shouldn't be so obvious, IMO.

If certain populaces cannot access the form, is this a way of getting the answer you want?

Only Thai speakers, or those that can translate the form, will access and vote.

Why, why, why.

The proposal will get overwhelming support from only Thai, basically the only ones that can respond. No loss for Thai people, just more for Thailand...but how it's spent is just as nuts as the survey.

Keep on keeping on with the insanity and loading up your golden geese with more fees and ever-changing dynamic visa/entries, rules, laws taxing foreign pensions not already taxed, plus all the other annoyances that someone wishing to legally visit or live here, and you will see the exodus continue...and maybe not just the budget travelers/expats, but also middle income foreigners if this proposal continues.

This does not bode well for the new visas and regulations of which we are still waiting for. The last regulations had catastrophic effects on the the type and behavior of foreign tourists. They just can’t get it right can they ! Too proud to let the experts design and help.

They have never, ever, cared for what "bodes" well here. Why would they? In regards to foreigners, it's always been pay up, or shut up, or both.
